1. Reliable and Responsible: Trust is a word I take very seriously. Trust between myself and my clients is the cornerstone of our relationship and is the single most important item in an industry filled with horror stories of jobs gone wrong. After more than 20 years in the industry I have learned that to achieve this trust with you we must work together, communicate clearly and set realistic goals. Once gained, the end result is a team approach and relationship between client, designer, and builder that will exceed any contractor experience you may have ever had. Trust is very difficult to gain but oh so easy to lose. 2. Passion: Landscape Design and Construction is more than a job or a paycheck to me. It is intertwined with all of the passions in my life that together make me who I am and fuel my desire to not only design exceptional landscapes, but also to protect the natural world that I spend so much of my time in. As a nature photographer, fly fisherman and avid outdoorsman I am lucky to be able to say that there is a fine line between work and play. 3. Creativity: Creative landscape design solutions inspire and ignite the imagination. Carefully orchestrated combinations of color, form and texture are balanced with function, budgets and a need to be environmentally responsible. They provide places and opportunities for enjoyment, reflection, entertainment, rejuvenation and inspiration. I create landscapes to connect people with the outside world that exists beyond the walls of their home and inspire them to pause and reflect on the ever-changing scenery that unfolds with each passing day. 4. Sustainability: I have considerable experience designing and installing projects that environmentally perform specific purposes. Rain Gardens and pervious surfaces that clean, filter and slow storm water and its accompanying first flush pollutants from entering our creeks, rivers and local waterways. Wildlife Habitat that encourages diversity and provides locations for native birds, insects and bees to sustain populations in an ever-dwindling urban environment. Responsibly and correctly using local resources creatively in a manner that durably lasts for years while also encouraging, educating and inspiring people to look at these issues as opportunities and effective solutions for their homes and gardens. Beyond a checklist of L.I.D. items though is a will to educate, inform and protect all resources, including your families. By managing projects to run efficiently I can reduce the amount of labor (costs) and resources needed to install your landscape. By designing landscapes that do not need excessive amounts of water or fertilizers to maintain the high aesthetic levels I demand from my yards, I can reduce the resource demands of the future that your household needs to invest. Finally, by maintaining long term relationships with each and every client I work with, I can ensure this thought process is maintained for years to come.

I can't rave about Bryan enough. I don't think that 10,000 characters would adequately describe the quality of the work he provided to us. Our yard looks amazing. While he was re-doing the yard and rebuilding the fence, people would come by from the other side of the neighborhood specifically to see his work. He is (in no specific order), friendly, upbeat, professional, meticulous, hard-working, detail-oriented, and committed. This was a very large project and I believe that his price was extremely fair, especially given the quantity and quality of the work performed. He was enthusiastic to work on our project every day he was here. His communication skills are phenomenal: we could reach him by phone, text, or email. He provided us with regular status updates and fed us questions by email when there was a decision to be made. He takes immense pride in his work, and I have to say I'm extremely impressed by his knowledge of plants and trees, weather and climate, local geology and geography, and also landscape architecture. Most of the work he did on his own - he subbed out certain things that were beyond his skill set or for which he wasn't licensed (e.g. the electrical and plumbing) but his subs were just as great as he was. And he worked on this project and brought it to completion in the late fall/early winter here in Seattle. No small feat, especially given the horrendous rains this year. Not only will he be our go-to guys for future projects like this, he'll be top of our referral/recommendation list to friends. Thanks Bryan!
Description of Work: Replaced and removed entire fence; rebuilt entirely new fence and arbor. Removed old stone wall from front yard and rebuilt (by hand) entirely new stone wall. Graded entire front yard and built new flagstone patio. Re-did entire front landscaping. Installed new irrigation and electrical system for front yard. Worked with landscape architect/designer.

Bryan dug new garden beds, weeded and cleaned beds, ordered and spread soil amendments and planted new shrubs and trees, and will soon apply mulch to all beds. He is a very professional and a hard worker-- friendly, punctual, fast, proactive, reliable, and a great communicator. He also worked with us to bring the cost within budget. He gets our highest recommendation!

He was very good to work with and it was a very good experience. He did the work as per the schedule he said he would. He brought a lot of idea which I was looking for. He would ask how I felt about certain things during our conversation through which he was getting to know my likes and dislikes. I would use him again in the future.
Description of Work: I use Bryan LaComa Landscape Design for landscaping. I last used him to remove some trees and to develop flower beds and put in plants.
