Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning

No service was provided. I called because I wanted a bid to bring Natural Gas into the house. Whoever I talked to wasn't very excited about helping me. I needed a oil to gas conversion on the heating unit and Brennan doesn't do that, but he wouldn't tell me who could do that.....when I know perfectly well he just didn't want to give me that information. They're in the industry, they know who could do it. Bad customer service for company supposedly identified as an A on Angies list.

It went okay. It's a good place to go. It's working and that's what makes us happy. They got it in and it's working so we have no complains.

The visit was great. He performed the tune up. I asked him I if he would change the filter for me because I have a hard time reaching it. He did so cheerfully. He also told me that my blower fan was disconnected. He reconnected it and now my house is super warm.

The technician arrived and checked the furnace parts and filters. He did not identify any problems so after checking things and doing some minor adjustments, he completed the call.

We ordered the Big Deal because of the great price. We ended up getting an upgrade to a 2-stage furnace because the deal was for a single stage. I had no Idea there was a difference but the 2 stage is supposed to heat the home more evenly. We will see when it gets cold but we did have uneven heating with the old furnace so we decided to upgrade. Even though we had the Big deal, an estimator came out and determined the load requirements and recommended the 2 stage. There was no real pressure, he just provided the facts. The installation team arrived on the scheduled day ahead of schedule, which was great. They installed the new unit with no problem. After the install, another person came to do a leak system pressure test to check for leaks in the system. This appears to be a state requirement. Of course, they found a lot of leaks, the ducts are 50 years old. However, to seal the leaks and insulate just the ducts in the crawl space was more than the furnace. Luckily, I had seen this same scenario in another Angies List report, thank you! So I was prepared for the discovery and opted not to have them do the work. I'll do it myself later as it is just labor intensive but not technically challenging. Overall, I'm happy with the furnace and the installation.

The technician arrived on time, was professional and thorough.

The gentleman was very nice and neat and tidy which I appreciated. The only area I wish he would have elaborated on more was detailing me more on the condition of the furnace. He wrote notes on the paper verifying what he did.....but he didn't explain in layman's terms what he found out....recommendations for keeping it in good order, etc....I'm a more detailed person so I was hoping for some feedback......Looking back I should have asked more questions....but as a female I didn't want to ask dumb questions and I could see he had other calls he had to make so I didn't want to waste his time. I would have liked him to go over the sheet he presented me while he was there.....but he just had me sign it and left.

Very thorough and explained things clearly. I highly recommend everyone do a yearly check and cleaning. If I had, it would have eliminated a previous service call for when I was not getting any heat.

The service went well. I didn't have any issues with the service. Everything was good about them.

I bought 2 big deal coupons from the company for an air conditioning and furnace service 59.00 dollars each (which is a good deal). The technician came out and serviced the air conditioner ( did an excellent job) and started the furnace service. He discovered a cracked heat exchanger and explained that he needed to turn the furnace off and could not finish the purchased maintenance at this time until the heat exchangers were replaced. He gave me an estimate to replace the heat exchangers (still under warranty) The cost seemed high ($ 650.00) especially since the exchangers themselves could be sent back and would be replaced by the furnace company. I called around and got several lower estimates. I ended up getting the heat exchangers replaced for 450.oo by Black Lion heating who also included a free igniter (preventative) and ended up completing the maintenance service.

I was not home when they inspected it so I can't really tell. I have a 20 year old Payne 80% furnace that's never given us any problems since we moved in 2004. I bought their maintenance special and all I can say is they left a sheet with my wife saying cracked heat exchanger, do not use, due to carbon monoxide poisoning, and that we may not wake up from our sleep. It also included two quotes for a 2 different kinds of a new gas furnace. So I never got to observe them showing me where the crack was nor did they provide a repair option so I can't really say either way. What I will say is we have carbon monoxide alarms installed in our house for 3 years now and not once did we ever had a carbon monoxide alert. Do not think they they attempted any maintenance as apparently they made the conclusion that the crack on the heat exchanger was so catastrophic and dangerous that there was no sense in doing any maintenance.

It was ok. I was contacted by Brennan the day after I purchased the deal. That was impressive. I wasn't ready so I called them some time later. I was able to get the day I wanted with a 3 hour window. Imran arrived around the 2 hour mark. He was polite. He finished approximately a half hour later. As he was giving me his findings I felt like I was being lectured to. Then he asked for taxes on the special. I have purchased several of the big deals & NEVER was asked for taxes after the fact. I told him that & he just stood there. He didn't say anything so after an awkward few minutes of me finding my checkbook I wrote a check for $5.60.

The installation was great! The guys who showed up to do the work were professional, neat and efficient. The salesman, however, was not very responsive, promised us a thermostat that was not the one the installers brought with them, and was slow to follow-up, finally saying "that thermostat is not actually one we carry." I ended up ordering it online and hiring some one else to install it. Do be prepared to be sold a more expensive version of everything related to the new furnace options available.

They were fabulous. I had no problem scheduling an appointment. They were on time and very professional. Would definitely use again.

Crew worked hard all day and cleaned up well. They were punctual and got everything done on time.

The service is for water-heater maintenance. Basically, check and maintain water-heater. The service person basically flush the water tank to drain out majority of the mineral deposit at the bottom of the tank. In the process, he loosen the hose iconneting the ntake- pipe to let air into the tank, so the water inside the tank can be effectively drain. Later he tighten it back up and refill the tank, but then the hose-pipe-joint where he worked on is leaking very very slowly. He indicated that it is normal, it will stop eventually. But it never stop, so I called and he came back to tighten it more with only slight success(by putting more telfon tape onto the sealing-joint). He told me that's all we can do, indicating that it probably need a new water-heater installation. I am not convinced by his explanation. I took apart the sealing-joints and realized that the rubber-washers insider has aged & deteriorated, and that's the main reason that even applying tons of telfon tape around the sealing joint is not going to hold the water pressure(inside the pipe). All I needed is to replace with a new hose(old hose has rusted anyway) and new rubber washer. This is a hidden problem and part of maintenance's job is to figure out if there is any potential problems, if any parts are degraded or broken and may need replacement. My opinion is that the serviceman was not able to identify the problem correctly; flushing the water-tank was only a part of the maintenance. Of course, a new installation would have solve the problem, but this is readily fixable, with much less cost.

No problems as indicated above. Technician "Paul" was courteous. Visit went quickly. Only question I had was regarding the filters. Found out that my furnace has filters that you remove and clean yourself rather than replace. Thought cleaning them would be part of the "deal" but was told I would have to do that myself. Technician explained to me in understandable terms how to do this. I had just recently moved into this house. I have never had a gas or electric furnace serviced before. Filter cleaning or replacement may have been excluded in the description of the deal or I may have misunderstood that "clean and check" would include filters.

Great communication throughout the process, both before , during, and after. Job required working in a small, confined laundry room - they removed the door,washer and dryer and replaced everything just as it was when the water heater install was complete. The installers were friendly and answered all questions. I will work with this company again.

On time and performed work. Had to ask specific questions about any possible problems detected. Company I used in past was more thorough and listed potential issues on the cleaning/inspection sheet. They charged more but I in watching both servicemen they were more thorough. I probably expected too much for this price.

They did a great job. Very nice guys who did everything they said they would in a reasonable amount of time.

Provider was on time and provided service as expected. Was very courteous and friendly.

I was out of town during the service call, so can only go by what my husband said. He said this service was pretty much a waste of money. Judging by what was done, I'd have to agree. The only thing that seems to have been done was a check for leaks. If you know anything about tankless water heaters, they are NOT maintenance free. The valves need to be inspected and possibly cleaned/replaced annually. There was no notice of this inspection being done on the order. I don't think paying $99 just to check if the heater is leaking was a good value. However, one positive aspect was that Brennan honored this deal without question or hassle, even though it had expired two months earlier.
