Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning

The workers from Brennan were great. I thought that their prices were fair. I thought that they gave me high quality work. They were very responsive, punctual, and professional. I would use them again.

We were all set to purchase a new furnace and air conditioner from Brennan and they told us that if we held off for a couple of years it would be much cheaper. They have always worked with us and helped us to make everything work and for much less than we thought. They are very prompt for the servicing. The staff is very honest and knowledgeable. They have always done good work. They have very reasonable prices. We have been delighted with their service.

The Brennan Team showed up right on time and started work promply. There was an issue regarding the height of the gas furnace and air cleaner combo so the guys went the extra mile to adjust my return air unit so the installation would look clean and professional. I did not want any wiring or plumbing running outside the home so they went into the homes tight crawl space to oblige my wishes and I am very Happy with the look and functionality of the installation. They came to our house to provide an estimate and gave us a quote on two ACs and two heat pumps. They honored a $150 Angie's list coupon and offered an additional 5% off which made their bid significantly lower than a competitor's offering the exact same units. I called to schedule the installation they and they came two days later and finished the job in just one day. They took care of all the permits. So far the AC is running great (we've had some hot spring days) but I can't yet comment on the heating aspect or the energy savings.

Everything went horribly. They came in and ruined the carpet, they made a huge mess, and tracked mud everywhere. They left their food and trash in our basement, and they never cleaned up after themselves. We had to continually call them out to fix portions of the job that were not done properly. They burnt the wall and were not willing to pay for it. They finally offered to take $200 off but the damage was much more significant than that. Their prices were slightly lower than their competitors but it was absolutely not worth the savings. I would never use them again, and I would never recommend them to anyone.

Brennan Heating is a Costco affiliate contractor. They contacted me the same day that I called the Costco referral number. Paul Carter was very thorough and took the time to understand our needs. He prepared the bid on-site. The costs were competitive after figuring in Costco rebates. In the end I selected a different company based on product and price. However, I would call Brennan Heating again for future bids.

The Company was very responsive and worked very hard. This was quite an extensive project. Promptly repaired leaks which is part of the process with new installations. System runs perfectly. Waiting for last radiator to be installed in Kitchen. The crew did quality work and was very punctual.

The estimate process was very straightforward; the estimator spent maybe an hour or so explaining all of my options for replacing my 28-year-old furnace, and going through all of the discounts and rebates and tax credits available. He was very aware of permit requirements, which was not something I got from the other company that bid on this project, and even had a small post installed in my garage per building code (so that the water heater & furnace would be protected from a runaway car). The installers arrived right on time at 8am, and completed by about 1pm. They were knowledgeable and courteous. The only reason I give them a "B" on quality is that they did not sweep up the garage when they were done installing; when I swept up afterward I found a few sheetmetal screws that could have punctured a tire if I hadn't found them before putting my car back in the garage. They were very helpful in answering all of my questions, and the estimator called me later that afternoon to make sure everything went well and answer any further questions.

Todd came out and gave me an estimate detailing the work as well as the price. It was a tough decision but I went with another company based on the brand of furnace. In the future though I wouldn't hesitate to call Brennan again.

Our gas furnace was not coming on when it was supposed to, I was turning the furance off and on to reset it. I had another company come out 6 months ago and the issue was not resolved. One visit from Brennan at the minimum service charge the technician diagnosed and resolved the problem quickly.

They were in an out in less than three hours, so they were very quick. I have already referred them to my neighbor, who has since used them. They were very professional and the salesperson that came out did not try to up-sell us. We told him what we were looking for and he gave us a quote for exactly that. They also didn't try to get us to make the decision right there, since they knew we were price-matching.

Very well: Got quotes from three companies. Unlike some others, sales rep. explained all the options thoroughly and understandably. Installers were very professional and knowledgeable, as well as being great guys. They even fixed a loose drier vent.

Our furnace started working sporadically in December, and finally quit working altogether just after Christmas. We called Brennan in early January, and they sent a technician out promptly. The tech told us that the blower motor was out, and could be replaced, but that with the age of the furnace (32 years), it might be wiser to replace it entirely. When we bought the home in 1999 the home inspector had told us to expect to replace the water heater within a year, and the furnace within two or three years, so we took the service rep's advice! The installers were able to come out two days later and install the dual stage, high efficiency furnace we chose, as well as a new hot water heater, saving us some labor charges. The installers were quick and efficient, polite and helpful. They explained emergency procedures, how to restart the pilot light and explained the summer circulation fan. My husband met with the rep, and forgot to mention that we had an Angie's List coupon, but when we called the office, they immediately credited our Visa card with not only the discount, but the excess tax, too! The office personnel were very efficient. The only thing we are unhappy with is the odd-size of filter the furnace requires - I had to order them online, as none of the local home improvement stores carry them!

From the begining the repair person informed me that it could take all day because first they had to find where the leak was then fix it. When the day came for the repair person to come out he was half an hour early showing up at 8:30am when he was scheduled to be there at 9am. After spending all morning doing something outside with the air compressor he then left for an hour and a half to go from Auburn to Fife to pick up a part. (Note I was being charged $165 an hour for him to pick up a part.) Once he returned he let himself back into my home through the front door without knocking. He also spent another 45 minutes sitting around in his van putting lotion on his skin, again while I am being charged the hourly rate. When the repars were all done around 4pm that day the system was working fine. He went over the problem with me showing me that the leak was in a fitting that was on the air compressor outside, after he informed me when I got the inital quote to do the job that it could take up to four hours to find the leak because he did not know where it was coming from. So in short he overcharged me for his time after finding the leak in the first place he looked, then proceeded to spend the entire day on this job when it could have been repaired in half the time or less. Again the part he had to go pick up that took an hour and a half was a basic rotolock fitting that I would imagine should have been in his van with all the other parts he had in there. After this experience I call the company to inform them of the service that I received and how I had been overcharged. The person that answered the phone at their office transfered me to the manager who was in charge of taking care of issues like I had with the service I received. It has now been three weeks and I have yet to receive a return phone call from this company. Basically they overcharge you for a job that is not done very well. I WOULD NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN.

They showed up on time. They did good work. They were hard-workers and she has had no complaints with the work done. They did all the things that they said they would do. Their price was not too expensive or too cheap and I was satisfied with their quote. My only concern with them was they did not provide the Angie?s list discount that they had advertised.

Brennan made about three site visits prior to finalizing their bid. Because of the design of my house and my existing 60 year old radiant heating system, my installation was complicated and not a normal run-of-the-mill job by any means. They answered numerous questions and evaluated the work in detail prior to bidding. The did not charge for the estimate like another mechanical contractor did. Once their bid was accepted, they worked with me to schedule their work around the installation of my gas meter and work I was having done by another contractor (the installation of a solar hot water heating panel and tank). Brennan was flexible and coordinated well with the other solar contractor. The installers were polite and respectful and did not make a mess. Brennan also coordinated with a roofing contractor for my roof penetrations (I have an unusual roof type). Installation of the boiler was promised in three days and on the final day, they worked until 9:00 PM to make sure I had hot water and heat before they left. They were very careful to install the gas logs in the fireplace and checked with me to make sure it was done how I liked. There was a minor glitch with the boiler system and they came out and fixed it right away without complaint. They made another trip out to walk through the system with me. They also called me afterward to make sure everything was working as it should. They took care of all the permits and sign offs and gave me the signed-off permits at the end of the job. My system has been working for a about three weeks now and everything is working just like I asked. I'm very happy with Brennan.

He did a great job cleaning the furnace and getting it going. They didn't try to sell us on additional unnecessary services.

I called Monday morning to have someone come out to this house and provide advice on an furnace that was obviously really old from our visual home inspection and questionable on safety. Someone answered right away and then transferred me to the service department, where I waited on hold for a short time. They scheduled me an appointment for the next day and told me it would be $85. I thought this was a bit high for someone to just come look at it, but I would rather pay and get a honest estimate rather than them trying to sell me something. The servcie man called me on his way out the door, and then showed up 5 minutes early that morning. We had to wait a few minutes for the real estate agent to get there and open up the house, but he was very patient. He went right in and got to work, taking things apart and testing them out. Ultimately he determined the furnace was from the 60's. While it was a miracle it still worked, it was in fact safe to use. He said we could feel good about using it, but the second it broke we would need to replace it because they no longer make parts for this furnace. He gave us a very reasonable written estimate for replacing the furnace if we would like to. The whole visit took approximately 30 minutes. Their service was so and price of replacement so reasonable, that while we will get other estimates for the replacement, I suspect we will use Brennan.

Excellent job! Salesmen and workers arrived when they said they would. Came in and went over the requirements of the job, told me of all the different installers that were scheduled to come and when to expect them. Workers went right to work and worked straight through to end of job. They were especially helpful when one of my cats decided to check out the attic! I really can't say enough about the team, they were great! I love my new heat pump!

They are very professional and their price is reasonable. They are also prompt.

The communication between this company and my general contractor was not good. They wouldn't respond to his questions. The system at this time is making some noise which I have yet to resolve with the company. They did the job, but if I couldn't find someone else to do the job, I would hire them again.

We talked with 2 other companies and decided to go with Brennan. The person that came out to talk to us about the product was very professional. We just need to wait for the parts to come in now. So far, so good.

Everything went fine. They do a good job, it was a good price and quality and they showed up on time.

Were very prompt with coming out and giving quote. Also, came when scheduled for the installation. Did job in one day. Had some minor concerns regarding the installation in reference to the neatness of the plastic pipe(flue and combustion air). Could have been done neater. Had a few questions afterwards which the representative came out and answered to my satisfaction. Overall, the prices were competitive and I'm happy with the job.
