Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning

Overall everything went well and I would do it gain and refer friends to them.

Never was able to fix the backflow preventer. Need to build a new one and try to replace some galvanized pipe that feeds into the system. Was able to get the leak to stop.

We are very happy with the work Brennan did for us. Their installers were at our house for almost 3 full days. They showed up on the days we scheduled, did quality, professional work, and answered all of our questions. They didn't gripe when the plumber was in the house at the same time and got in their way a few times. They sealed up everything, cleaned up nicely, and generally did a great job. Highly recommended. Only two minor problems occurred with the office. They didn't initially provide a detailed invoice. You need to keep documentation that has at least the model number for installed equipment if you're taking advantage of the federal tax credit. They also billed my credit card for the 2nd half of the work without asking me. I was planning on writing a check for it.

It went very poorly. The price was fair, and the sales person seemed okay, but pressured us to do quickly to get best deal. The installation itself was miserable. We were very disappointed in the process and felt like we had to watch over the entire project, and ended up having to. They took shortcuts, complained quite a bit about our requests and seemed insulted when we questioned or asked that things be done the "right" way. They stacked equipment on a brand new expensive wood adirondack chair in our garage after telling them not to, which made scratches and marks. The project required basic carpentry/cutting and they left sawdust everywhere in the garage which took me hours to vacuum and damp mop. Our son's wagon and toys were covered. They didn't even take the time to cover anything. They didn't run the last three feet of line inside a wall -- the installation team had bad attitudes which just made it hard and difficult. It's not a good experience when you feel like you have to watch over everything, especially when you are paying this much money.

Brennan was very professional on the phone. They came out quickly and assessed the situation accurately. I chose not to get the work done by Brennan. When the technician realized and explained the problem to me, I asked for my options. My options as he explained, were to get a new furnace (very hard sell) or replace the cracked register, but... 1) They said they couldn't get the piece for almost a week because of the model/brand of furnace I had. The other company had the part in hand almost immediately. 2) The price they quoted for the cracked heating register was much higher than the company I ended up going with. I did not choose Brennan to perform the work of replacing the cracked register. I felt their technician was way too high pressure sales on buying a whole new system. Also, after receiving the 2nd estimate of time and dollars, it appeared to me that the cost and time estimate Brennan provided were poor because they really hoped to steer me into a new furnace. Bottom line, I didn't come away feeling that I was being dealt with honestly or completely ethical. That to me is a deal breaker.

They had to install new duct work in a tight space (think attic crawl space) and exceeded our expectations. They were really clean and did their best to clean up after they were done each day. The disturbance to our life was minimal at most! We had other quotes from other providers for essentially the same thing and Brennan was the fairest. Ben the rep, did not try to sell us anything that we did not need and he listened/responded to us in a timely manner. We haven't had a chance to use the system yet but are happy with the overall service so far.

As usual. I called; we set a time; they came within the hour window (having called approx 20 minutes before arrival); did the maintenance; discussed it with me; reminded me to print out my Angie's coupon; put everything back and left. All this sounds routine but my furnace is in the crawl space and requires someone reasonably asthletic, not claustrophobic, and not afraid of spiders. I remind them of this when I call and they find someone who fits.

We were looking for central air conditioning and as we researched things it became apparent that replacing the furnace at the same time would be cost effective due to the government rebates. The person who came and gave an estimate was punctual, professional and friendly. He quoted all the options I wanted (air conditioning only, furnace only, heat pump, combinations) and didn't push one over the other. He laid out all the rebates we could get from the government, from the AC and furnace manufacturer and from Brennan. I got several other quotes and found Brennan to be the second lowest in price. When I called and told them I would hire them if they came down a few hundered more they agreed. Scheduling a time was easy, they showed up on time and at one point had 4 people on site. They took care of all the permits and have their own electricians. A couple days before the scheduled work I decided to replace the water heater. They provided a good quote that matched others and worked it out so it was installed the same day as the rest of the work. Very pleased with the whole experience.

We were very happy with them. They had to go under the house to put in the ducting for the air conditioner. They were here for a whole day. They were very professional. They told us what they were going to do. If there was any problem under the house, they let us known about that. I am sure that they did more than just the air-conditioning job because it was not easy for them to get under the house. They were great. It was easy to communicate with them. We spent about $6,000. The price was high but they were listed as one of the top companies in the area. We have been very happy with this air-conditioning unit. It was pricey and it cost a lot but I don't know what to compare it with. The quality of work was good. They were very responsive. We will use this company again in the future if we have the money.

Price was too high for me, I am thankful for Brennan taking the time to do an estimate.

We highly recommend furnace shopping in May, as the prices and discounts are the best of the year. Our first point of contact from Brennan was Ryan S., who came out and bid the job. We were quite impressed with Ryan's technical knowledge as well as his professional demeanor and soft skills. We had a couple of follow-up phone calls where we asked detailed questions. Ryan gave us clean and concise answers, based on his hands on experience, and he never steered us wrong. We hired Brennan in early June '10 after taking two other bids. Brennan's was actually one of the lower bids! On the first day of the install, Ryan arrived with the team of installers to brief them fully about the job, our requests, etc. One of the big concerns we had expressed to Ryan was that nothing touch our freshly painted interior walls. These concerns were taken very seriously from the start, were honored, and we were never made to feel overly 'picky' about them. Dan, the lead installer on our project was terrific. He was very communicative, gave regular status, and made himself available to us for questions. He went the extra mile to help us restore the appearance of the air intake returns via his prowess with sheet metal. He also helped tune down some noise from the registers making our environment more pleasant. In the end, we only had one very minor issue with some of the cleanup in our crawlspace. One day later, my husband was in the crawlspace and he noticed that the ducting had detached from one of the registers. Brennan was very responsive. Someone arrived at our house to address the issue an hour later! They double checked all the registers to make sure there were no other problems. Generally our experience with Brennan was above our expectations. We would definitely hire them again. We will recommend them to anyone.

Outstanding. I had obtained estimates from several companies, however their recommendations covered a wide range of system capacities, capabilities and prices. The Brennan sales rep was very knowledgable, provided sound technical justification for his recommendations, and provided cost conscious ideas for fixing some other ventilation problems with my old system. The installation team arrived on time and finished on schedule. Brennan assisted with the county permits too. The installation team did make an error during installation, the effect of which was to cause the system to consume excessive power. A repairman came the day after I identified the problem, and quickly diagnosed and corrected it. However, my next electric bill was a couple of hundred dollars higher than normal. I contacted the sales rep, who contacted the manager, who contacted me within the hour, and a check was in the mail the next day. I was blown away. No argument, no rationalization, no excuses.... nothing but an apology for the error being made in the first place and a committment to make things right. I can't say enough good things about the quality and integrity of this company. The fact is people are human, employees are going to occasionally make mistakes, but it is the reaction of the company to those mistakes which shows the true character of that company. If you are in the market for a heating/cooling system, this is the company to hire.

Everyone was prompt from the initial contact through the final inspection. The installers left the area cleaner than it was before they started. I couldn't have been happier.

Mostly a very good installation. Installers showed up on time and completed the installation in about 7 hours. The crew was very professional. Demonstrating how to clean the filter was not particularly good--I intend to call them and have someone go over it again when I clean the filter at the end of this month. The only real complaint I have is that the filter was installed near the ceiling--about 7.5 feet off the ground. This will require a ladder and exposing arms to hot exaust pipe from the water heater which could be dangerous, especially for older customers.

They are very professional and pleasant. They clean up after they are done and they are a great company.

initially was not sure of the problem with the thermostat not working - he quickly diagnosed the problem and ordered the part to fix it. Price was more than I expected but service was good. timely service and professional.

They had a much better price than another company that I got an estimate from. They did a great job. They gave me a better price when I told them I was a member of a company that offered discounts. I purchased a top of the line Lennox furnace. I am building a house and I'm going to see if they can move it when I am finished with the house. I plan to use them in the future.

I was contacted quickly about scheduling an in-home visit and was able to set something up in a couple of days. The sales rep was punctual and extremely helpful in guiding me though an appropriate solution for our needs. We discussed options and he provided me with an estimate via email the following day (this was Friday). He even called to make sure that I received it and to see if I had any questions. He was very responsive to my emailed questions. Up until this point, everything was great. The beginning of the following week I had a couple more companies out for estimates. The Brennan sales rep kept in contact by calling me to check in and make sure I was getting answers for any questions. His calls were not pressuring me to pick them, but he was very inquisitive regarding the other companies and estimates. In all fairness, all of the bids came within a few hundred dollars of each other. But one of the companies had a slightly different mix to the package (Brennan paired a 95% efficiency furnace with the heat pump and the other company used a 80% modulating furnace with a better heat pump). I asked the Brennan sales rep about it and he had an acceptable reason for it, but he seems resistant to quoting a similar setup. Even after he offered to price one out, he did not. Again, the Brennan sales rep was never pushy but he seemed a little put off when he knew I had solicited other bids. In the end, we chose another company and will be having that work completed shortly. The Brennan sales rep is not the reason that we went elsewhere. Keeping all other things equal, I chose the other company because of the product line. I preferred what we were getting for a very similar price. The negative part of my experience with Brennan is unfortunately what I will remember most. It came after I chose the other company. I emailed the Brennen rep on Sunday night to let him know and he called me this morning (Tuesday) to find out more about what we chose. I began to tell him what was included in our package and he stopped me to tell me that I must be mistaken because he had never heard of that type of product (the 80% modulating furnace). I was looking at the product brochure so I told him that it must be one heck of misleading advertising because it was printed right there. He still seemed like he did not believe me. He asked me the brand of the product line, said he hoped things worked out for me, and then he was so quick to get off the phone with me that he practically hung up on me. He did not even ask me WHY I chose the other company. It is a shame that I got a response like that because we went with someone else. Brennan was our second choice (out of three) but considering his reaction in that conversation, I am 100% positive that I made the right decision in our first choice. All things considered, I would probably recommend Brennan to be a part of the bidding/estimate process. I believe they are a good company with a good product line. Their pricing was very fair and I did not question their dedication to the customer. Unfortunately, my experience with them ended in a very unprofessional manner.

Started okay, however after furnace was set, I noticed it was not plumb. Showed the problem to the installers and they immediately removed the furnace and remodeled the base to provide a level platform. Installation was neat and clean and they ran the intake, exhaust, and condensate line out of the way against a wall as I requested. They were complete in about 5 hours. They then programmed the thermostat and were on their way.

Installation went smoothly, and all services were as advertised. Now our house is nice and warm. Rep went over options with us, and pointed out that in our old house, with our old windows, there was probably not much to be gained by going for the more expensive high-efficiency model.

The office was responsive to my e-mail and my call and questions. Their estimate was accurate. Serviceman was prompt and professional. It took about 1 hour to inspect, tighten some electrical connections, and replace the filter. The cost of the filter was $65.00, maintainance was $145.00. 10% ($21.00)off for Angie's List member discount, and $17.95 for tax. All in all I just think that $145.00 is a lot for a 1 hour service call on an electric furnace.

They came out and gave us the estimate and theirs was higher than the company we chose.
