They were fast and courteous. They were punctual for the job, but, had to call him 3 times, to get the work done. They did a good job and will use the same in future.

Making the appointment was easy; they came in two days after I called. The technician was right on time, told me what he was going to do and performed the cleaning and inspection within 45 minutes. He was clean, nice and professional. I would use them again for my annual furnace cleaning and inspection.

They got it all done in one say as they promised. It got a bit tricky when they were not able to install the control panel in the same place as the previous one but they got it moved and patched up the wall where the old one was. During the installation one of our fuses blew (we have very old electrical) and the technicians went out and bought a new fuse for us. We also had a problem where the furnace stopped working a couple of weeks later (on one of the coldest nights of the year) and we called a technician at 9:30pm on a wednesday and they came right out from Renton. Turned out a guy installing windows had bumped the earthquake shutoff valve so it shut off the gas. The technician showed us how to figure this out next time and how to reset it and then we were back in business. The difference in temperature in our house has been really great. We are very happy with the furnace and the quality of work done.
Description of Work: We had just bought a home built in 1947 which still had the original furnace. It had been converted from oil to gas but it was a huge hunker that did not keep our house warm. We hired them to come in and take it out and put in a new high efficiency furnace with a better control panel so that we could have better control of the temperature. We also bought an attached air filter and an earthquake shutoff valve to be installed.

Sales process went smooth. Chose Brennan due to great sales guy (Ben) and quality of products and services. Financing helped too for the short term. Installation had a few hiccups, but nothing out of the realm of unusual. Location on a few items had to move due to the way the house was built. Team was very courteous and professional. One minor issue with furnace was dealt with quickly and effectively.

Like many of you, it's not the radio jingles or the fancy truck logos or the perennial 10% off "specials" that companies offer that inform my decisions. Rather, it's real-world reviews from people like you who've actually experienced buying the products or services from the crowded landscape of companies out there! So, based on the reports here, I asked four well-reviewed companies to come out and give estimates on the installation of a new tankless water heater system and the rerouting of several gas lines. The winning company was Brennan Heating. In every category, from professionalism, to competitive pricing, to great technical advice, to excellent workmanship, Brennan Heating EXCELLED!! I just couldn't be more pleased with the work they did for me. And lemme tell ya, even on my best day, I'm a slightly pessimistic consumer who expects the worst from trades companies-- plumbers, electricians, etc. BUT, I'd have to work exceptionally hard to conjure up even one negative thing to say about my experience with Brennan. OK, here's one-- I didn't get a company pen. Oy vey! Would it have killed them to offer me a pen? ;) Seriously though, thank you Brennan and thank you Angie's List for making a difficult and expensive decision easier and dare I say even pleasant. ;)

Their price is high but not that bad. The salesperson told me some things that were not true so I had a bit of a problem with them but the installers were excellent. He left something to be desired. I would advise people to check out prices and other installers on the internet. I don't think I would use them again.

The heating and cooling unit works well and I am happy with it. What troubles me is Brennan's refusal to stand behind their workmanship. Not long after the installation an engineering firm hired by the condo board to investigate siding problems noted the the penetration Brennan made through the exterior wall was not up to code and, they judged, would eventually result in rainwater leakage into the condo.. Brennan refused to improve their installation. A few months later snow and ice on the roof caused water to back up and pour down the roof penetration for the electrical wiring.. This caused serious water damage not only to my condo but to the next two condos below mine. Brennan refused to admit that they were at fault and refused to improve their faulty installation. In my condo I have had to have water mitigation services to dry out walls and carpets, all electrical breakers replaced, carpet pads replaced, flooring replaced and walls repainted. Similar work is underway in the other two condos. In addition I have had to hire another company to upgrade the two connections through the roof and the one through the exterior wall to do what Brennan failed to do - ensure that they are watertight and are consistent with building codes.
Description of Work: Brennan installed a heat pump in my condominium. Since my condo is on the top floor of the building this entailed installing a unit on the roof with electrical wiring and tubing bundles penetrating the roof and an exterior wall. These penetrations would have to be weatherproof.

The original contractor of the house wired the furnace wrong. When my husband installed a new thermostat it fried the transformer. Brennan came in and fixed it for us. They were very thorough with this technical problem. He did not talk down to me. He explained everything so I understood it so if something like this happened again I could maintain it myself. I am reasonably handy and try things on my own first before I call someone. He gave me a little bit of an education so I might be able to do it myself next time.

We got them through Costco. I figured since they were through Costco they were number one good because anytime I have a problem they back it up. They came out and were able to talk to me about the different stuff and deal with the pricing and warranty. I had three different people come out. Bobby was very good about his work and he was very conscientious to make sure it was right. I have already recommended them to a couple of people. They were nice to deal with and they did a good job. I worked in construction clean up and they were pretty good. Their price was comparable to everyone else. I am thinking about using them again for some wiring.

From start to finish, we liked everything about Brennan. The product isn't cheap, but we love everything about our new fireplace and feel it was well worth the cost! Brennan has a very good rating on Angie's list, and in checking them out, so we decided to give them a try. The very first question they asked was if we knew what the general minimum pricing was ($3500, they said), which, though a little blunt, was actually pretty smart--why waste their time and ours if we can't afford it? Rodney, our salesman, came for an estimate and arrived on time and was completely professional. He inspected our fireplace and home to make sure there was access for the gas and electrical lines and had brochures showing us their full line of inserts and explained all the pros and cons and features. They accomodated our schedule for installation and Vaughn and Josh, who were both great, came and did the work much more quickly than expected and cleaned everything up perfectly. The decorative front piece we'd selected wasn't in stock, so they put in another front piece and we paid 1/2 the total cost of the job at time of installation and they told us we didn't have to pay the remainder till the correct front piece came in. When it did, they called and came in a few days and it took less than 1/2 an hour to change out. We had decided to get a gas insert after hearing warnings of this being a particularly tough winter and having gone without heat or power for 3 full days during a previous winter. So besides being attractive, we wanted something that could be operated manually, in case of outages, and that would provide real heat. We got all of that and more!We love our our new fireplace and spend a lot more time in the living room now with it there and use it constantly. And it's a huge hit with our pets as well!!! The electric and gas bills don't seem to be any higher than before, so it seems to be very fuel effiient, too. We are truly completely satisfied both with the work done and the product!

Their estimate was for $5800 which was a tiny bit higher. They went through the house and looked at the electric box as we were interested in the air conditioning as well. They gave us a very detailed estimate and went through the different types of furnaces, filters, fans and all sorts of different things for me to choose from. There were no problems with them and nothing was objective. They probably followed up one day too late. They wanted us to be aware of something in our decision and they had to call us but we had hired somebody else.

Initially contacted Brennan in 2009, but due to scheduling conflicts couldn't setup an estimate appointment. In early 2010, they sent cards with fixed cost AC installs and the price was pretty impressive. This time it was easy to schedule the appointment. Ryan arrived ontime and was very quick to give the estimate. The surprise was that the permits was not part of the fix cost AC install. It was very easy to schedule the install appointment. Brennan pulling all the permits and scheduled for the inspection. Ryan showed-up with the installers. Didn't expect Ryan and it was a nice touch. The complete install, electrical, gas pipe etc was completed on the same day. The gas inspector also arrived on the same day and give his OK. Electrical and Mechanical inspector visited a week later. Will give 5 stars for scheduler at Brennan. Someone did an exception job to schedule 6 people to show-up on time. NEGATIVE : Brennan didn't mention or obtain PSC approval for the AC install. While checking, I found that PSC (Power supply company), needs to approve the AC. This is because a whole house AC can draw a lot of power and cause voltage issues if the line is not sized correctly. This is also true for changing gas appliances.

The two primary installers were great. They did a very workmanlike job, arrived on time, worked diligently, and were very polite. As part of the system, however, they installed a Lenox whole house dehumidifier was extremely noisy and surpassed Lenox acceptable db levels for residential use (it was ordered by the sales rep). We asked for it to be replaced. The sales rep was uncooperative and borderline rude about the issue, so we escalated to his manager, who sent over a tech who then figured out that it was not a residential model. At our request, Brennan replaced the Lenox unit with a Honeywell unit that is designed for residential use, and that we had very good experience with in our last house. Next, my husband noticed that the outdoor sensor didn't work. When the weather got cold this would prevent the strip heater from coming on and keeping the house at an acceptable temperature. A service guy came out and removed the sensor and set up the system to come on any time there's a 2 degree differential between the thermostat setting and the indoor temp. This solves the problem, but not as energy efficiently as would the correct set up. We've been promised a new sensor three times now, but it still hasn't been installed. The latest problem we have is very loud noisy operation of the heat pump at certain times. The service tech came out and said he couldn't do anything unless it was noisy when he was here. So I have made a video of the issue and posted it on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-1KsQ9-HGM) and sent the link to the Brennan service department. My husband ascertained that there is an ice buildup on the inside of the casing, and that the fan blades are hitting it. I made a service appointment with Brennan for this afternoon - they gave me a two hour window - and planned my entire day around it. I waited for 2-1/2 hours and no one showed up or called. I just called them to learn that they've decided not to come out today. I was told they are ordering a sensor (finally!) and will come and install it after they get it in. As you may imagine, I am very put out by this. So far, I am very, very, very unimpressed by Brennan. This is the worst service I've ever had for an HVAC contractor (I have previously installed 5 systems with other contractors). Another sub-par area is that the downstairs family room never gets above 62 degrees. The service guy said that that's just the way it is when you have a basement. Maybe so, but I'm getting a bit skeptical at this point. I think it's likely because the ductwork for the upstairs is over-sized and the ductwork that Brennan put in downstairs is standard-sized. Thus there would be more air resistance in the new stuff downstairs, making it easier for the air to pass through the old ducts than the new ones. Otherwise, we like the Lenox system very much. It is quiet and seems to be energy efficient so far. We love the fresh air system. It has a heat exchanger, so the air is tempered before it comes into the house. In addition, the air is filtered by the hepa filter before it comes into the house, and the inside air is constantly filtered, and also purified of mold and fungus spores by the UV lamps. We have to have such an elaborate system because I have severe, life-threatening environmental allergies, and my indoor environment must be pristine for me to survive. The Lenox/Honeywell combo does the job very nicely.
Description of Work: Installation of Lenox HVAC system (heat pump, fresh air system, uv lamps, hepa filter) and Honeywell whole house dehumidifier. Ductwork to add cold air return and heat ducts to the downstairs family room. Subsequent service calls to address problems.

Fine, we will live with the noise and deal with the part or new fireplace insert later. There was no charge as they could not perform a fix. They are honest and came promptly. I use the gas fireplace in lieu of the electric wall heaters. UPDATE: I lived with the noise until it died and used it without a fan for several months before calling someone from Sundance who installed the fan easily as described. Since Brennan did not charge for the visit, I cannot complain about their work only that they were not prepared to install a fan while Sundance had one in their truck.
Description of Work: Brennan was the second to come look at our gas fireplace as the fan was going out. I think they installed it years ago. The other provider charged $60+ to tell me that they found a part (fan) costing over $600 before labor to replace a fan which is very noisy and obviously in failing condition. The Brennan technician concluded that we can continue using the fan or letting the fire burn without fan until the fan no longer works, they do not replace old parts. He gave me a couple of places to look for the part and did not charge for his labor or time. UPDATE: I later hired Sundance Energy today who came with a fan in his truck, did the best clean and maintenance I've seen on this heating fireplace and easily installed a new fan for less than $400 labor included. Neither Brennan nor the prior tech from Blue Flame who looked at it was ready or able to install this part and the total would have been twice as much if done by Blue Flame..

From beginning to end a class act. Very knowledgeable sales person who focused on fitting the system to our needs. Installers and techs were all on time, explained what they were going to do and allowed us to select placement of exterior vents and piping. Cleaned up after themselves and tarped any floor coverings they crossed. Answered questions and instructed us in programming and maintaining the system before they left.

I had an excellent experience with Brennan. A representative came out to my home to evaluate my heating needs, discuss furnace options, and provide me with a cost estimate. The representative was very knowledgable, and very efficient in his presentation. I got one other estimate from another company, but decided upon Brennan because of the information presented by the representative, Brennan's good reputation, and because of their excellent ratings on Angie's List. The furnace installers came out to my house to install a high efficiency Lennox furnace approximately one week after the representative came out. The installers were polite and efficient, and cleaned everything up after they were done. I am extremely happy with the service provided by Brennan, and am now enjoying a consistently warm house and significantly lower heating bills.
