One little delay which made the job start one-week later than scheduled which was not much of an inconvience to me.

Tech arrived unprepared with tool for the job, specifically a ladder for accessing the roof to reach the rusted furnace pipe. After providing tech with homeowner's ladder, he decided the roof pitch was too steep. This same tech had been to the site one month prior to understand the scope of work, entered the interior attic, and visually saw the roof pitch and vent location before providing an estimate. The estimate was not cheap and was not applied to final bill. At my request, the company is refunding the estimate. However, one month has been lost in addition to using a work vacation day and the usual staying around the house because techs need a wide window of arrival time. I have also spoken to several office staff when arranging the estimate appointment, calling them the day before to ensure the work appointment was still on the books, etc. 3 out of 4 staff were very brisk and quick to hang up the phone. I appreciate they may have high volume and need to move fast, but there is a fine line where it can seem to abrupt and give the impression customers are taken for granted.

Tech was knowledgeable and did a good job. Tried to sell some extras but no high pressure.

We purchased a new furnace, heat pump, thermostat and had them installed. Through the winter our bill was higher than what it was with our 14-year-old furnace. :(

Just one person came out to do the work.

Everything went smooth from start to finish.

The bid went great. They listened to what we were looking for, proposed a reasonable solution, and gave us a quote that was in line with the other bids we had. They were actually a few hundred dollars cheaper than the company we ultimately went with. The one drawback, was after they sent the quote by email, that was kind of the end of the conversation. I had replied back with a few questions about the quote, but I never received a reply. As I had proposed the same questions to the three companies we bid, and got suitable answers from the other two, we ultimately decided to go with the next most expensive, but more responsive company. At the end of the day, other than the lack of a reply to the questions I don't really have anything bad to say about these guys. The bid was reasonable, the equipment sizing was correct, they were easy to work with and punctual and while they were on site they were able to answer all the questions that I threw at them. They only lost the bid because someone else did it just a little better.

Brennan Heating and Air Conditioning has been servicing our system for a few years, so we called them when the signal on our thermostat indicated that the system was not working. Thomas, the technician, traced the problem to a failed capacitor and a damaged connecting wire, which he replaced. He worked quickly and was very professional. The price included the 5% Angie's List Senior Discount.

When I bought my house, they were the ones who had serviced the old furnace. I had them service the new furnace twice before it started to make a rattling noise. When I asked them to come out and look into fixing it, they said, basically, that it was going to cost $500 to fix it, but it was old and parts would probably keep failing. So, I used them instead to install new replacement furnace. Replacing a furnace is never that cheap, and I didn't really shop around much. I remember them being very quickly responsive. They were very professional. I asked the guy, he said, "well, this is what it will cost you to replace it, I can order it and we can be back in a week", and I asked, "would you replace it?" and he said, "well, it's really up to you". I had to pressure him into telling me it's probably a good idea to go ahead and replace it. A lot of these places these days try to up-sell you as their first tactic. I remember really appreciating that they weren't pushy about that at all. I would definitely use them again.

The mixing valve was replaced successfully, along with new copper piping replacing some of the existing PEX. There are no leaks and we get much more hot water and the hot water comes much more quickly. The only shot-coming is the piping was a little bit messy (not cut to exact lengths, odd angles) and it is now a weird mix of copper and PEX.

So far so good. We don't have any problem with any of them. It was free because it's under warranty. So far they are doing good. It's hard to book, maybe they are too busy. They come on time.

They charge a lot to come out to your house.

It went well. The service and follow up was exceptional and the system works very well. We are satisfied.

The installation team seemed professional, but they were flummoxed by our duct system which due the nature of our townhouse/condo arrangement has fire ducts the installation team were unsure of how to fix this caused issues and lead to another company to be hired to come in and finish the install and fix the damage of the fire duct system found.

I got several bids. Brennan was honest about features I did not need and saved me money. Installers were friendly and neat. They showed me how to use the new thermostat.

I've used them religiously. They do a great job. They installed the new AC and a new furnace for me. They come out for annual inspections. They've saved me money. They are absolute As. They are very good. I have them come out annually to inspect my AC and my furnace and to stay on top of everything so we don't miss anything that's going wrong. One person came out, that's all that was necessary. The work took about an hour. This is fairly new equipment. It was installed in 2013. They're very proficient. They know what they're doing. They know exactly what to look for, for both of those pieces of equipment. They know what they're doing. When my AC wasn't running quite right back in 2013, the guy came out. He showed me exactly what was wrong. He said, "you can spend a lot of money to get the parts for this, but it's going to be cheaper and better for you if you just get a brand new unit that's energy efficient." And then the furnace, there was something in it, I can't remember what, but it was cracked. That's why the furnace wasn't working properly. He even had me put my hand in there so I could feel where the crack was. They're very honest. They don't try to snow you and make you buy something you don't need. I'm very impressed with them.

I was a little disappointed that they tested the CO levels two thirds the way through the cleaning process. That should have been cleaned first. If it was bad, why would I pay them to clean it. They had the cleaning process backwards in my opinion. They were fine. They were reasonable. I shopped around online a bit. They were right on top of it. They were right on time.

The guys did a great job and were very respectful of my property.

My wife was home at the time of install. She said everything went well, no complaints on that end. The one thing that did not go so well was install of the water sensor in the attic as it was set in a puddle of water and shut off my furnace for two days until they could get a technician out there and remedy the issue. Yes it was a small mistake but kind of silly on their part.

Brennan is absolutely top shelf when it comes to the technical competency of their technicians. Remember that highest technically rated also means premium pricing. However, in the end, you actually save money because they know exactly what needs to be fixed. Modern furnaces have high efficiency due to the sophistication of their parts. That sophistication comes with a multitude of systems that can go wrong. While I do enjoy the cost savings of my Cadillac of a furnace, I envy my Dad's 30 year old 70% efficiency furnaces he never maintains other than putting in a new paper filter. I often wonder if I actually pay more money for a Cadillac just to save maybe a 30 spot each month on efficiency. All I know is Brennan is outstanding and I will use no one else. I negotiated the price down (it was $1,650 for labor, but due to the furnace being installed by Brennan without the perfect leaning angle 8 years ago, I argued it exacerbated the heat exchanger's demise). However, because I used a cheaper company for maintenance on the furnace for 5 of those 8 years, I owned some culpability and thus thought it was very fair of Brennan to knock $400 bucks off (AND about $50 bucks off my Diagnostic). I essentially got a new Furnace for $1,477.16 out the door after tax. Brennan did me a solid and I will forever be loyal to them. They don't need my review (you can see they are top shelf), but I promised I would give it and wanted to wait at least 4 months to make sure the furnace is running smooth. And it is. Thus I am VERY happy with Brennan and highly recommend them. If you want Best Value. If your goal is Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) then go with someone else. Keep in mind that in the long run you stand a good chance of actually paying more under an LPTA evaluation criteria.

The company we are kind of stuck with even though they didn't stand behind their work. We had this furnace put in and it leaked water, and they wouldn't replace any of the parts. They said that wasn't their warranty stuff on the furnace. That was my one grudge on having a new furnace and having it going out with them. Mostly we got to he same place because we know them.

They recommended that I have the duct work cleaned in my home. I immediately had that done and then realized a problem with the heating in my upstairs. I had them back out to look at the heating problem. Before even looking at my furnace, the technician suggested that I may need a new one. After looking at it, he found a switch was not engaged and suggested that it was the duct cleaning company's error. After talking with the owner of that company, I found out they work directly through the ducts. I called Brennan's back and the service manager raised his voice insisting they would never had made such an error. I found his approach very unprofessional to say the least. We would all like to think that our employees don't make mistakes but they can just like everyone else. Won't use them again.
