 + -1 moreI don't have space to store a cord of wood and was looking for a smaller amount -- this was perfect. Mr. Weiss was very helpful - tips on how to start a fire (and how NOT to start one). The wood was a good size for my old wood stove (I have some from elsewhere -- uneven sizes and some too big, hard to chop, etc). I got just what I needed.
Description of Work: Provided a half-trunk load of nicely cut, seasoned, conifer wood, plus 2 bundles of kindling.

 + -1 moreThe owner answered on the first ring and was very patient as I asked questions about the different types of wood his company offered. He also asked me questions about how we would use the firewood. We have both a fireplace and a firepit so this was very helpful. He told me he could deliver the wood in 2 days. However this did not work for us as we were going to be out of town. We arranged for delivery a few days later. The owner showed up exactly on time and was able to dump the wood by our back fence...quite a feat given our yard...We feel that we probably rec'd more than the 1/2 cord we ordered. The wood was seasoned and came in various sizes (a mix of large, medium, small and even some.kindling) We have since had our first fire and the wood was perfect! I will absolutely use this company again in the future!

 + -1 moreIn my estimation, these guys are perfect, with the caveat that you have to order BEFORE you need the wood, instead of when everybody else wants it also (in other words, order in the middle of September, even though the weather is still gorgeous). PAST BAD EXPERIENCES WITH OTHER PROVIDERS: If you've ever had firewood delivered in the Seattle or Eastside area, you may have had the same unpredictable results I've had in the past from other companies, apparently because of their low margins and high employee turnover. The last cord of hardwood I ordered (last autumn, from another company) showed up a day and a half late, was literally 50% softwood, all of it very wet, about 25% of it green to boot, with lots of dirt, moss, and plenty of spiders and slugs). But all that is in the past now: BLW will be a yearly tradition for us (remember to order early enough ;-)
Description of Work: BLW delivered, exactly on time, a half cord of mixed oak & madrone (hardwood). At one minute before the agreed-upon time, Thomas the firewood dumptruck driver appeared at our front door. He deftly positioned the dumptruck exactly onto our back driveway, which is in a congested area of townhomes, and he delivered the load precisely into our driveway space, not overlapping the neighbor's space. Friendly, energetic, professional. But the best part is the quality of the wood: imagine the sound of a half cord of bone-dry hardwood hitting the driveway, with that nice ringing sound like wooden xylophones. The wood is clean beautiful stuff, no rotten pieces, no spiders, no mold and no softwood mixed in.
