Mark created 3 separate preliminary plans. I picked one, although I could have gone with a combination of them. Each of the 3 plans included some 3D CAD images along with the architectural drawings. From the final selected plan, he created some architectural drawings. These plans were very detailed, but did take longer than he predicted. The plans were occasionally tweaked as the project went forward. I felt that Mark had good expertise in structural design, which was the main reason I wanted to have a qualified architect. He also seemed to have a very good grasp of many important details, such as building codes and materials. My impression was he had a good knowledge of the nuts and bolts of building. He didn't seem quite as strong in interior design, for example putting a dishwasher in an awkward location. Fortunately that was an area in which it was easier to get other opinions, and also to rely on my own judgement. Another weak spot was that his estimate of the building cost was not very accurate. The value to price ratio for Blue Brook was very high. Because his fees were so affordable, I was able to get the plans drawn up first, before I even knew whether I would be able to get a contractor at a cost I was willing to pay.

I have a home that was built in 1912. I love the home for its original architectural details. When it came time to add on I was concerned about keeping with the charter of the home. I found Bluebrook Architecture after interviewing several other architects. Mark worked with me on the project; he listened to what I needed out of the space and to my concerns about keeping with the original charter of the home. Because of how the home was originally built, the building department told me I would only get a dormer instead of the second story I wanted. Mark thought of an easy solution to our engineering issue that satisfied the building department the plans were quickly approved. He did a fantastic job the home is beautiful and looks completely original.
