Best Plumbing

This was a $99 big deal purchase. That was okay. It cost me $129 . They came the same day I called. It only took two seconds for him to fix that and I had to pay $129. They could have had their prices a little bit different, but everybody complains about the price. It was a good experience. The worker who came out was very friendly. I don't mind people talking.

It went great. Michelle came in, found the problem and had equipment on her truck to repair our sink faucet. She was done and we were back in business within about an hour. She did have to come back to readjust the faucet angle of swing, because it only swings about 130 degrees from side to side, and it was off center from how I needed it. But she came back and did that free of charge.

My only gripe was that I was charged to extend the water line when I feel that they should have done it for free. Here is why... I had paid them to install a water line about 2 years previous. What I did not know was that they did not provide any additional slack in the line, so when I got my new fridge it did not reach. That said, I had to have them come to my home to extend the line to reach my new fridge. My fridge was in the same location as my old fridge, but the water intake was located on the other end of the fridge and thus the line did not reach because the original line installation had no slack. However, they did a great job on the install and everything is working as expected.

It was okay. I wouldn't use them again. They charged me the whole amount again. I wasn't there but my older daughter was there and she just signed it. Anyway, I got it fixed. It wasn't great. I had to have someone else come in and redo it. I had to redo the drains. It improved slightly but it just didn't last. I tired to get the drains cleared but I don't know it it didn't go far enough. It is like they got part of it and not all of it. I thought that I would get four things done but I got only two things done. That could have been my miscommunication, some of it I wasn't sure because I wasn't physically on premise. I wasn't positive. It is just not what I thought it was going to be but I thought it could have been may be on my end too.I don't want to say that it was bad when maybe if I would have been there watching and saying, 'Don't forget this,' we wouldn't have had problems. The price was not good.

The plumber showed up on time. He was courteous and professional. He provided the estimate of $265 for the job, and asked us to agree to it. We objected, knowing it was a clean, simple, short job, but he insisted that was the price. We felt stuck and agreed to pay it. He spent 30 minutes replacing 3 cartridges which we provided at our expense. Overall, everything went well, but the cost was outrageous. Actually, today was the 3rd visit from this company in our quest to repair these leaky faucets. The first visit, they charged us $82.15 to evaluate the job. We had told them in advance the brand of our faucets and had asked them to send a plumber who knew how to fix them and carried the parts. However, they sent someone who did not have the parts, and had to order them. It took 3 weeks to return with the parts. During these 3 weeks it was impossible to get status updates from the company. They had no tracking information. Customers aren't allowed to talk to the person who orders the parts. The person who answers the phone has absolutely no information. The second visit, they arrived with the cartridges but could not install them because they had ordered the wrong parts. There was no charge for this visit. They didn't want to order the parts again, and asked us to order them ourselves, which we did. We had them come out today to do the installation due to their familiarity with the situation. The poor ratings in responsiveness and professionalism reflect this entire process, not just today's visit.

I purchased a deal from Angie's List back in 2014 - a $200 coupon for $100 (or thereabouts), knowing that I had a plumbing project coming up in the near future. In the end, I delayed the project start by over a year but that aspect didn't bother Best at all, so points for flexibility. The plumber, Collin, contacted me on the day and accurately predicted his arrival time. Communication was great at all times. The only thing preventing this from being a straight 'A' review is the jaw-dropping price. The initial quote was around $1000 for about a dozen soldered joints. I couldn't afford that. I couldn't afford to *not* do the work either, because there's a call-out fee. I scaled back the scope to just soldering the large, cast brass mixer tap. I ended up paying about $450 for 5 or 6 soldered joints (leaving the easier joints to do myself). The quality of Collin's work was exemplary. Collin did do a great job of explaining the large overhead costs of running a well-stocked truck and a journeyman plumber (with on-call availability round-the-clock). I accept that, but I still feel that close to $100 per soldered joint is too much. So, A+ for flexibility, quality, punctuality, and Professionalism, D (or C-) for the price, for a solid 'B' overall.

I purchased a "Deal" for $200 toward plumbing services. I have a rental and wanted to do preventative maintenance cleaning the bathroom sink and tub drains, and replacing a toilet fill valve and flapper. The written estimate to clean 3 sinks and two tubs plus the toilet was $898.13. What? Only one sink drain was even partially clogged. So, since I had a "deal" I had him clean the one sink drain. I was charged $275.64 (including tax) for the one sink drain. I looked up notes from last time I had the exact sink cleaned from another company and it only cost $39.50 plus tax (and another toilet's valve and flapper only cost $118 + tax) and that was only 9 months ago. I feel that prices were increased because I had a "Deal". An Angie's list article from March said depending on the market and severity of clog, the average cost to clean a sink drain is $109-$214. Shame on me for not bringing my past receipt to be sure I wasn't getting price gouged.

I called for an appointment and got one for 4 hours later. He was very timely - actually 1/2 hour earlier which was nice. He was very efficient and knowledgeable, answering my questions and completing the task quickly and satisfactorily. I would certainly use this service again if needed.

Completed the repairs competently. No complaints with the job.

Randy (plumbing) did our two jobs/repairs, I highly recommend asking for him. We had a break in the system between house and septic tank. On our first job, Randy tried everything to save on cost before we had to dig to get to the sewer/septic lines. We did the digging and found two areas that had deteriorated over the years. When inquiring cost over the phone to (sewer) representative and not knowing the situation we were quoted a rate $950 if we dug and $1600 if we didn't dig. Needless to say, we were frustrated that to replace 3 feet of pipe it would cost that much. The sewer representative never came and saw the job-so we were discouraged. After much deliberation and research we almost tried to do it ourselves, but our home is older and we needed a guarantee everything would work. We went through with using Randy. When he arrived on time, he saw the hole dug to reach all pipes and just needed the pipe put in and a much lower costs. Randy was informative on extras that we could do, courteous, knowledgeable at his job and wasn't padding the bill. Best Plumbing has a great employee with Randy.

It was okay. Their cleanup wasn't the greatest. They gave us a heads up when they have to run the garbage disposal or if the sink backs up. It was good. I'm a little clean and he didn't wear booties in. I cleaned up after him. Other than that, he fixed the sink and that was worth it. It came to more than that.

We purchased a bank owned home that had been vacant for several years and the toilets were gross and most leaked. Randy @ Best Plumbing had done some other work for us and did a great job so we called again. It was cheaper for us to buy the toilets ourselves and have them shipped to the house (note: count/check that you actually receive everything, we were missing some stuff that had to be repurchased in order to finish the work.) We paid partly using the $200 credit for $129 special here on Angie's List which works like a gift card. They took the old toilets away, and all the boxes / packaging the new ones came in. Excellent work, excellent service, highly recommend.

Repairman corrected the issue

We noticed a backed-up sewer problem Saturday morning, May 23, and our regular plumber was out of town for the Memorial weekend. Using Angie's List, we chose to call Best Plumbing based on the company's A-rating. I called the Best Plumbing office and arranged to have someone from your company at our home in about an hour, and the employee arrived within the time frame. His diagnosis was a backed-up sewer line and he said he could use a power-auger to clear the line and the charge would be $359. We agreed to the charge. Using the power auger, he was able to determine that a blockage existed about 10-15-feet into the line from the basement, but he was unable to unblock the line. He indicated that he could try the high-pressure water nozzle (Hydro-Jet) to clear the blockage and that would increase the cost to approximately $550. We agreed to the charge. He was unable to clear the sewer line. He indicated that another Best Plumbing employee with a camera would be able to come out on Tuesday, May 26 (after the Monday holiday). We paid the bill of $602.80 (incl tax). Another person from Best Plumbing arrived on Tuesday with the camera and - while the camera was under water at the blockage and the image not terribly clear - the picture confirmed a blockage. After locating where this blockage was, this person indicated that a 10-15-feet section of the sewer line would have to be replaced and he gave us an estimate of $4500.00 plus tax for this job. We thanked him for the estimate and indicated we wanted to get a second opinion. By this time (Tuesday), our regular plumber had returned from the long weekend. We called him, explained the problem we were experiencing, told him we had had Best Plumbing out to try to fix the problem, and told him about Best's estimate to fix the problem. We had our regular plumber come out evaluate the problem. He used his auger and was able to clear the line. His auger removed two bundles of small-diameter roots using a helical head with a sharp point on his auger. He found no blockages further down the line. His charge for approximately 30-minutes on-site: $196.00

We had to find someone on short notice for a complicated project. Randy showed up on time, early actually, and quickly sized up the issue and gave a very reasonable price. He repaired the cut pipe, inspected all of the fixtures in the house and gave us a lot of helpful advice on prioritizing other work that needed to be done. He was spot on in terms of his estimate and finished quickly. We will definitely call them again and highly recommend.

They were fast and friendly response, same day service call. James gave me a 30 min courtesy call so I wouldn't be wasting my day waiting for him. He was prompt and explained possible issues that would have caused the slow flow. He scoped the pipe and showed me on the monitor that the pipe was clear from the street to the toilet. Which lead to the conclusion that the tenets could be putting to much TP in or not pushing the lever all the way down for a full flush. Toilet was old so I asked for recommendations for a replacement and I went with a Toto unit, with a larger opening for more flushing power. It included a new waterline and he also sealed the toilet base. Great customer service completed everything from start to finish and left it as clean.

I bought a $119 big deal for this service and it worked out fine. I used the service the same day I purchased it. No issues arose. He was late because a truck broke down so I am not sure of the details on that. I thought the pricing was a little bit on the high side. I had to pay quite a bit over the price of the deal. They only did the one job, but it cost quite a bit more. I guess it was scale or something that the big deal did not cover.

Was very impressed with Best Plumbing. I bought the "Big Deal" for an outside faucet issue I was having. Then on the morning of the appointment, my faucet just starting working again. I called to let them know.. the guy as on his way out and he stopped anyway to check it out. They did not charge me anything. I was very impressed and will definitely use them in the future for my plumbing needs.

They are prompt. He explained a part we needed and for my wife went to pick it up at the store and he installed it without charging us extra. The deal purchase covered all the service for that day.

They were very professional. They were fine. We had no problems. I think they were late showing up for work but they called me to tell that they're going to be late.

Company made a mistake with the install but went above and beyond to rectify the situation.

That went pretty much as expected. They had a machine like the fiber optic machine that had a DVD recorder on it. So what they did was they ran the camera down the pipe and they did have screen. He did give us a DVD at the end which we were able see what is going on in there. The guy that we worked with was very professional and a good attitude and went out there and did it. It was fine. The came who came later to give a quote on it I kind of felt like he was may be not being as straight with us as he could have been in terms of the cost and what was required. They were pretty responsive. They were quiet professional in terms of responding and answering calls. We would consider them if we had a project to come and have them give a quote.

It worked just fine. I had no problems. It was just a nice business interaction, no problems.

They were great and I was pleased with their service. He matched another company's lower price.

We did not accept the proposal because they would not do everything we wanted done.
