Description of Work: He painted my 2-story house with 2 coats on the 2 weathered sides of the house that really needed painting and one coat of paint on the other 2 sides. He does an excellent job of preparing the house and discussing anything necessary with me. i'd hire him again for sure.

Description of Work: Asked for a quote on painting the exterior of the house. Appeared on schedule, professional demeanor, thorough, and pleasant. Price was a bit higher than the others, so they didn't win the painting contract, but if the quality of the work was to be excellent, Benham Painting would be worth considering.

Description of Work: Sanded and varnished the interior wood trim of of 6 large window units, 3 doors, and one large main entry door and window unit. The work done on the main entry door and window was interior and exterior. (All of these units had been previously stained by an inept and careless contractor who we fired.) Painted the master bathroom. Painted the exterior trim around our garage. All of the work included careful preparation of the surrounding areas to avoid any mishaps.

Description of Work: John Benham came to my home for a free consultation. After I accepted his bid, we scheduled a date for the job. John and one partner filled all nail holes and painted two rooms in only one day. They also caulked and painted the crown moulding.

Description of Work: John performed a color consultation. He brought some excellent ideas to the table including some fun/unique ideas for wooden beams, pantry, etc colors. John and his crew also did thorough preparation of walls which required extensive hole and finishing repairs. John and his crew also mixed paints on site and repainted the interior of our entire 4400 sq foot home.

Description of Work: We scheduled an estimate of our house to have the interior painted with 1 coat of wall paint or touch up areas that did not need to be fully repainted, touch up chips around our entry way and touch up base board on outside corners. The color to be used was the same color already on the walls. John Benham showed up promptly and was actually there before us for our 10 AM meeting for the estimate. After a detailed walk through covering everything from the Master bedroom to the kitchen pantry we felt very confident not only did John know what he was doing, but cared a great deal about doing it right. Aside from how confident he made us feel about his ability to get our house sale ready from his own personal experience in the field he gave us pointers like taking up a rug on a wooden floor so sun could hit it and even out the color before we put it on the market, genius! Clearly he wanted what we wanted, a great job and a quick sale! Early Monday morning as agreed upon, work began. I let them in and they started immediately putting down runners and preparing the house to keep it neat and clean while they worked. I felt very comfortable leaving them in my home while they worked unsupervised (by me) and returned home for the remainder of the day. As requested, John called me about an hour before leaving the house for me to come back and check out his work. We walked through the entire house wall by wall, he informed me about what he did and how he did it. For a large house that had a lot of messy spots before being painted, I was very impressed. The house looked brand new. All but one tiny spot from a very dirty wall in the former little boys room was perfect. I mentioned to John I could see a bit of streaking through the paint and he was totally on top of it covering it again with out batting an eye. I really felt like had something been missed it would have been no big deal what so ever and he would have righted any wrong and addressed any concern I could have come up with. We even walked into the office and he remembered a tiny white chip he had made cleaning up after the previous painters and fixed it immediately despite it being completely unnoticeable to anyone else, that made me feel really good about hiring him, he really did care about all the details. After the house had been given my personal seal of approval I gave him a check and got a very through receipt which again was very comforting to know not only was John a great worker but a clearly honest man. We walked outside to say good by and he gave me a few more great tips about my roof and what to expect when getting it cleaned. John even waited to make sure I had locked up the house and was safely on my way out to field any last minute concerns or questions before leaving.

Description of Work: I own several properties and I'm an accomplished painter myself, but there is a great difference between the quality of an accomplished painter and that of a truly good professional. Benham Painting is unmatched in quality. Work completed has ranged from general house painting, to refinishing of kitchen cabinets, to stain matching and finishes. The jobs have been completed as scheduled, the final product everything I had hoped it would be, and the results long lasting. Equally important, the pricing has been competitive whether done under bid or time-and-material cost. On a personal level, John is a good listener and has been very easy to work with. I could not be more pleased. Benham will continue to be my painting company.

Description of Work: John Benham has been my painter for the last 4 years. He, and two of his crew members, have done multiple painting jobs for myself, both of my daughter's residences, and we all have been very pleased with his excellent work. In December of 2006, my husband & I moved into a new residence in Kirkland. After a number of months, I decided I could not live with the builder's drab beige color.John assisted me with my color choices, and the Benham Painting crew painted the entire interior of our home, including ceilings. I have used Benham Painting multiple times for touch-ups when needed, and he has done exterior work as well during the last 4 years. John works on a time and materials fee basis, and has always worked within the budget we have discussed originally

Description of Work: I am a general contractor who has used Benham Painting since 1996. John has consisitently provided workmanship which is always matched to the standards of the project. No matter what the level of finish, he is capable of meeting the requirements. In a age where we all wince at the cost of service type work, John provides the kind of finished product where as time goes on, you realize you spent wisely and have a product which will last.

Description of Work: Benham Painting painted the interior of our 1961 mid-century modern house before we moved in. This involved painting walls, ceilings, trim, fireplace and texturing one concrete wall in the basement to conceal cracks. They did such a great job on our new house that I also hired them to paint and wash our old house, a 100 year old post-craftsman with many windows and lots of trim, inside and out in preparation to sell. It cost more to paint our old house than the new one, but their price was quite reasonable considering the quantity of detail work in the older home.

Description of Work: Exterior painting of 3-story Craftsman-style house. The house badly needed painting, and we chose to paint the shingle siding to preserve them longer. They used good quality product and left the worksite very clean every day. They were careful around landscaping and disrupted our life as little as possible.
