+ -1 moreIt's going to be a hot dry summer, and Jack has responded by installing much more efficient -- and quieter! -- drip irrigation to my veggie garden. I can't believe how wonderful it is to not worry about anything. It's all on a timer. All I have to do is water a few potted plants. The rest is all taken care of, with minimal wast of water and maximum efficiency. Jack installed it after taking a class, proving that he's not averse to learning more to make his gardening and landscape architecture skills more relevant as time goes on.

+ -1 moreHe came, he saw, he conquered: my yard was unmanageable for me -- I have a disability -- and I didn't know what to do. He drew up a plan, gave me a price and a way to make it all affordable, and got to work. Within three months, my backyard and front yard were nice looking, and in three years, when the plants are mature, I'm sure I'll be just as thrilled. I'm going to keep using him to maintain the garden he's done, and gradually finish up replacing the lawn in the front yard with raised beds for food crops and little places to sit and marvel.
Description of Work: Jack took my yard from a buttercup infested monstrosity of grass and weeds to a delightful and calming space filled with native plants and ready for organic veggie gardening in the spring. He's fun to work with and always open to ideas. He also has great taste in coffee (Stumptown!).

Description of Work: Jack gave me an estimate to perform landscaping work in my yard, to include a design / layout for the work, an estimate, and then peformed the actual installation. I had bought the house in 2008 and really needed a creative and cost-effective solution because there was nothing in the yard but rock and dirt, and due to very limited funds I had not been able to do anything at all to the yard, which was the only part of the house that was not finished when I purchased the home. Be Green uses all organic plants, processes and materials. Knowing that I had a limited budget, Jack was excellent at working with me to recommending using all the existing elements and materials. For example, we moved all the river rock to one corner of the yard and created a flat surface in one corner next to the deck where I originaly thought I would need some kind of paved area. He also worked to incorporate all the large rocks into the design and intergrated them into the plants and flower beds.
