I was very please with the experience. The sales rep was very knowledgeable, office staff very helpful and crew very professional. They all also dealt very well with some last minute changes, that I had.

Excellent service from scheduling through to the completion of service. Work involved entering neighbor yards on both sides of our property, careful and extensive trim back on a large variety of trees. I was able to discuss the species type, pruning safety for health of trees, aesthetic and privacy issues at the start of the job, work was extensive, well done, with clean up excellent on all three properties impacted by the service. Both of the workman were grand to have around our home for the day, very pleasant, considerate, and hardworking!

My neighbor had this company top the trees that are growing between our two properties. Our houses are very close together, so there wasn't much room for the limbs to fall. These arborists cut these trees so that the limbs from the last two trees fell onto my house's porch and into my yard, instead of into the yard or property of the client's house. They never asked my permission to come onto my property to do this work, so why did they assume they could use my yard for this purpose? Especially when there was risk to my property? Two large tops of trees fell into my yard. The first time the limb came down into my back yard, it caught on some hanging lights I have over the yard and pulled them down, which then pulled down the metal trellis I have attached to my fence, which also broke my bird feeder. I went out and talked to them (they said "oh sorry" for damaging my property). Lucky that it didn't damage my actual house or porch, since the limb actually hit the porch pretty hard. I asked the arborist to "aim" the rest of the work so that the limbs would fall into the neighbors yard instead of mind, but no -- the next huge limb fell into my yard again -- with the branches and needles falling into my yard, and stressing my backyard flowers and plants. They did use a leaf-blower to try to clean up afterwards, and they did remove the limbs. But after all this - they knew I was home - they did not come to my door to follow up with me about what they were going to do to fix the damage. I was surprised, and I had to go out to catch them before they left in their trucks to get the phone number, name of the company, and talk about the fix. They said they would send someone to fix the fence, but not when or how, and if they would pay to repair the lights and replace the bird feeder. They did not take my phone number or name. So, I called them today - the next day - and the person on the phone did say the worker had informed them and taken responsibility. But, she was relatively unfriendly and didn't offer any assurance that this fix would be done anytime soon. And I had to ask her to please take my name and phone number to follow up directly with me (!!??). I expect more from businesses -- when they damage property, they should step up and make it their first priority to fix it. I know they have other jobs to get to, but they need to take responsibility and reach out to people whose property has been damaged as a result of their work. And, if they need to enter the property and use a neighbor's yard to take down trees, they should make contact with that homeowner before doing any of that work. They didn't contact me at all, or ask my permission. I resent that they purposefully had these trees fall into my yard instead of their client's yard (there was plenty of room in there). I hope that they will make good on this fix and do it quickly so that I can enjoy my yard in these last days of summer. So far, I'm not reassured that this will happen. I will write a follow-up review if they resolve this.

I contracted Ballard Tree Service to remove 3 large holly trees, remove debris, and drill and poison the stumps. When the crew arrived, I asked them to also remove 2 very large Rhodedendron bushes in the front of the house. They gave me a bid on the spot and we agreed to have the work completed. The holly trees and Rhodi's were removed, but some of the holly tree debris was left in the yard (a substantial portion of the tree trunk and some rounds). Additionally, the crew left large drag marks through our yard as they clearly dragged heavy portions of the tree stumps across the yard to their trucks. The stumps were never drilled and poisoned. I called Ballard Tree Service at least 4 times to have them return to the site to complete the work (removal of the debris and stump drilling). It took multiple calls and several months before anyone showed up again. When they did show up, they drove their truck across the yard, leaving behind heavy tire marks and broken planter edging. They never did complete the drilling and poisoning of the stumps. I called the office manager to complain and she did offer to send a crew out to fix the yard damage but at this point, I have no faith that anyone would show up and I'm frankly disinterested in dealing with this company again. I would not recommend them.

The guy that gave me an estimate for the work showed up the same day I called. He was very friendly and the price was right so I agreed to moving forward with the entire job (tree trim + removal of 3 large bushes). All of the work was to take place the next Friday. Friday arrives and I've not received any confirmation calls or a visit time window, so I call them. I was told they would be at my house between 1-4pm. The tree trimmers show up in the time window and get their job done, including clean up. At 4pm I called the office again and let them know the tree is done but no one has showed up to remove the bushes. I'm told the bush removal guy isn't working today. He can be out Monday. Ok, whatever, Monday it is. I get home Monday evening, no work has been done and I've got no missed calls or voicemail from Ballard Tree. So I call them, but they are gone for the day. I leave a message that the bush removal should be canceled since they can't be bothered to show up. Tuesday I get a call from them saying that there was an emergency and they had to divert resources to clean up a fallen tree. That excuse would have been completely acceptable, if they told me on Monday. Summary: When they showed up the work was done and it was done well. However, I'm not one to chase after contractors. I'll give my money to those that show up.

I had a large pine tree fall over in the night last night, the stump had rotted out. Since it had fallen on a new piece of fence I was worried about it damaging the fence. I called Ballard Tree Service around 6 AM this morning and Greg came down to look at my property as soon as it was daylight. He said his crew could come out today and remove the tree for me for $450, which I thought was reasonable for the size of tree. They arrived just after 9:30 and finished the job about an hour later. They did a great job removing the tree and cleaning up the yard after they were done - very professional. All of this was basically done on a handshake - they are going to invoice me for the work. I am extremely happy I called Ballard Tree Service and will definitely call them again if I need tree work done.

.We were delighted with both the process and the results, which exactly achieved our goals. This maintenance was long-overdue, much-procrastinated because we thought it would be too difficult to get such selective trimming done or too expensive. Finally I just called Ballard Tree for an estimate. Bob came out, made notes detailing what we wanted, and quoted a price which we thought reasonable for the tasks required. The work team of Jesse and Max arrived on time as scheduled. Once I had described to them our goals, they allowed us to actively supervise the decisions for many of the individual cuts. They worked with us, as the active tool-wielding hands, to make the cuts which we pointed to, and then to use their professional judgment to continue the selection process elsewhere on the tree. We appreciated their willingness to let us be actively involved, although the scheduler had assured us that we would not need to be present if we preferred. They worked for the full 2 hours which Bob had estimated that it would take, chipped up and hauled away all the branches and debris, and left us with a wonderfully-opened up driveway. These 2 guys were very good and efficient workers. Yes, we'll use Ballard Tree Service again!

Seattle had a huge wind storm on 8/29/2015, and my tree fell onto a 3-story duplex town-home. Luckily i was able to get them to come over so quickly, because there were trees down all over Seattle. The weight of the tree was also taking a toll on the town-home, as sheet-rock was had started to crack inside. Once i called, Greg (owner) came over to a**** the damage, and then called his crew to come from another job they had previously scheduled. They also had to hire a crane, to hold up tree while chopping it down. I just want to give a big THANKS to Greg and Ballard Tree for coming out and helping during an emergency situation. Everyone greatly appreciated the fast response. My neighbors were very happy that the tree was removed from their townhouse so quickly. The crew worked hard all day Saturday and were simply amazing. They showed great team-work and professionalism throughout the entire process. I was only able to thank them with a few pizzas, but we all greatly appreciated their hard work in fixing this situation.

This company was great. They arrived on time, did a fantastic job with the trimming, took great care not to damage any other plantings around the hedges, and cleaned up all the mess when they were finished. This was the first time we have used this company - we will definitely use them again for hedge trimming and large-tree pruning, and I highly recommend them. Their price was very similar to what our other gardening services have charged in the past.

Greg scheduled a time to come give me a bid very quickly and when I decided to use them, I was able to reserve a date for the work equally as quickly. The team showed up about 45 minutes early, which was a surprise but worked out fine. They were very efficient, listened to what I wanted done, and were very respectful of myself and my property. I asked for half the tree to be cut into firewood size pieces and the rest to be cut into 8' long pieces that I could have milled. They did just that and stacked the firewood neatly in the corner of my yard where I asked. They worked quickly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to have them come back for future work. Took about 3.5 hours, start to finish. Very good job!

This is an updated review to the poor review I recently posted. I was contacted by Ballard Tree Service. The invoice I received was sent in error. They are issuing a new invoice based upon the agreed upon price. After contacting Ballard Tree Service via email, the owner promptly responded and came to my home. I was given a written bid. The professionalism and knowledge of the workers who performed the job was excellent. The quality of the work was excellent. I realize that scheduling problems occur in any type of business. My only disappointment was that I arranged to be at home on a date the provider gave me. That date was changed, and I arranged to be at home for the new date. On that date, only part of the work was performed because not all the work was on the work order. I arranged to be home a third day when the work was completed. The bottom line is that I received excellent quality service at the agreed upon price. I would use Ballard Tree Service again and would recommend it to anyone needing these types of service.

They did a good job. I liked that the three workers that came out took a couple of breaks but worked stead fast the whole time and got the job done. The clean up was fairly good after wards - I was not 100% happy with it but it was something that I could live with.

They arrived when they said they would. The estimated 4 hours to do what I asked, but finished in 3 and charged me for the latter. They did exactly what I asked, left me with a pile of firewood cut perfectly, and cleaned up well without any damage to our extensive landscaping.

We had an old Cedar of Lebanon in our front yard that had rotted through the center. It had two live growths that were running down its sides anchoring it into the ground, but obviously its days were numbered. After the last windstorm, my husband was determined it needed to come down sooner rather than later, so he called a couple of providers and asked for estimates. I'm reporting this after hearing about the experience second-hand from him, but he was very happy with his experience using Ballard Tree Service. He called the company and Greg came out within a few hours. He gave us a competitive bid and, after we'd approved it, came out the VERY NEXT DAY. I left for work and the tree was there; I came home and it was gone. They were quick, as tidy as they could be (this is inherently a messy job and can't be helped, but they kept the mess to a minimum), and professional; perhaps best of all, they were competitively priced with others. We have already recommended them to a neighbor who has a tree in a similar condition. One personal note: we opted to keep the wood and stump grounds for firewood and mulch. The mulch looks better than anything I've ever gotten from a bag at the nursery! :)

They did an absolutely fabulous job. They cleaned up well, there was no debris left behind. I definitely recommend their service.

Contacted them and their crew showed up the next day. Job was bigger then i thought so I told them to increase the invoice by 50%. This is the second time I have used Ballard Tree. No reason to contact anyone else. Very satisfied with their service.

Greg was prompt and courteous. He provided interesting information about our trees. We took 4 bids, and did not select Ballard Tree Service.

Ballard Tree Service started by sending someone to do an estimate, and she was able to advise us on some sick trees that another service had missed. Since they charge by a flat fee for a day's work, I didn't feel she was just "creating work" either. The actual work started on time, and they were able to do an amazing amount of work, including some way up in a tall pine we have, in a short amount of time. Clean-up was outstanding - the side effect is that our yard was cleaner after the work than before. We'd definitely use them again.

Greg was a nice enough guy. He met me at the jobsite where two big trees needed to be removed. And he told me he could take care of it, that it would need to be permitted, etc. That was all fine with me. Then Greg never got back to me. Told me he was busy. When I did get a hold of his office, they told me he would contact me. When I called his phone, he'd answer and tell me he promised he would get back to me that evening. I was told that 3 separate times. Never followed up. Never called me back. I've since texted, emailed, and called. And no response. I wish he'd just own it, and try to make it right. I am in the service industry and this is the perfect way to lose a lifelong potential client. Overall really disappointed. I am sure the work would have been okay--but it would have required scheduling the work, following up, and not having me chase him down only to be completely ignored.

The tree removal was a great success; the stump is ground down and everything. They had to be careful of electrical lines in the area since it was right next to a lamp post, but they got the utilities surveyed and all went well. The tree trimming seems to have gone well too. It was intended to remove dead branches to help the older, not-so-healthy tree live a little better, with less dead weight. It remains to be seen how well the scars heal over and whether the tree perks up, but the trim job itself looks great, and nothing below either tree was damaged.

It went great. Greg came out to give the estimate and was thoughtful and responsive, listening to all of our needs. His 2 man crew came out the next week. They were punctual, polite, and considerate. They did a fabulous job with trees all the while being cautious not to damage the house or the cars. Plus they cleaned up the debris so well you would not know this work had been done unless you saw the fresh tree stump or freshly cut branches. I will call on them again for any future tree services. Chris and Martin arrived at 8:45 am. We talked and then they got right to work. Martin is a master arborist and he climbed right up into the high trees. It was amazing to watch him work. Meanwhile Chris was hauling all the debris out to their huge chipper. They worked so well as a team that they finished in less than four hours. When we ran into some unexpected complications with one of the trees they were able to offer a solution that made everything look just right. I am planning on hiring them again this winter to prune a big Japanese maple tree. They are very professional and easy to work with. By the way, the fact that they have a big chipper truck is very important because it helps avoid some of the dumping charges which are very expensive.

The first step was to take down the trees and it was done excellently with all the branches taken away and the rounds were stacked exactly where asked. The tree stump grinder service did a great job but they had a problem showing up when they said they would.
