Karl and his assistance were very friendly and professional. They arrived during the time windows of the appointment. They explained clearly my options and recommended course of action. I'm very satisfied and plan to use Aurora for my future needs.
Description of Work: My tub was leaking from the faucet when the water was turned on. Karl from Aurora Plumbing came out to take a look. He disassembled the delta faucet, cleaned it, applied new lube and everything appears to be working now. He said if the faucet starts to leak again that it probably needs to be replaced to the tune of ~400. Hopefully all it needs for awhile is the reset.

Bought the fixture at Aurora Plumbing retail store, and set up a time for installation. I was given a time window of 11:00-1:00pm. Brian came at 12:00 pm. He put blankets down on the kitchen floor to protect the wood, and started working immediately. Installation was done in about an hour and half. He tested all of the nozzles, etc. and asked me to try it - to make sure it was too my satisfaction. Brian was absolutely a pleasure to work with, efficient with his time, work area was spotless. Easy peasy. Now if I could only find a furnace /AC company that is as good as Aurora Plumbing!
Description of Work: Took old kitchen sink faucet, and installed a new one.

Previously used Aurora Plumbing in 2013 for a shower installation, and was impressed by the knowledge & professionalism of the journeyman they provided. In Dec. 2015, they sent a friendly journeyman & apprentice to my house, but he wasn't scheduled appropriately for the work requested, so he billed us $75 to come up with a "game plan" for moving forward. Now in Feb. 2016, after Aurora had fired the previous journeymen, I've found their replacement journeymen & supervisors to be inexperienced, brash, and subversive. Overall: Repeatedly asked workmen to keep all manufacturer's contents, including boxes, packing materials, extra fittings, and paperwork, as well as leave all old fixtures replaced by new fixtures. With the exception of 2 manuals for my new dishwasher ... all the old fixtures, boxes, paperwork, and anything else were stowed in the truck & removed from my house before I could inspect their work. Without the box, packing materials, or paperwork for any new appliances, I'm unable to return/replace any of these items back to the store where I purchased them. When I demanded to retain all existing hardware & connections, they insisted that all boxes & parts were now property of Aurora Plumbing, even though the truck goes to the workman's house at night (not the store), and I'd suppose later sold on eBay after cleaned up? Dishwasher: Workmen stupidly used only 2 screws to mount the dishwasher in place, using existing (stripped) screw-holes leftover from the previous dishwasher's mounts in the countertop's MDF underside. Dishwasher cavity is deeper than 36", and with the casters not leveled or adjusted, the dishwasher could freely be pushed into the cavity, and caused it to lean forward by more than 10 degrees (with no bracing behind it). Power supply box was left unscrewed, and grounding wire connected to neutral wire (both electrical code violations). Kitchen faucet: Didn't retain after-market aerator nor superior sprayer hose. New faucet installed without manufacturer-supplied trim/flange/cover, and now showing rust & grease where prior faucet's trim had obscured. Faucet wobbles when operated due to missing new trim as well as loose mounting to bare sink metal. Hot water flow is only 1/2 of cold water flow, even though supply lines are equal size ... I suspect this is probably due to an oversized washer left in the T-intersection installed at the wall's hot water valve. Food waste disposal: Removed old wiring without permission, but wouldn't hookup power to new disposal because it wasn't provided in the new disposal's box. Journeyman later confessed "he doesn't really do electrical work". Water filtration system: Some common brass fitting/washer/spacer was required to install the filter, and they said they don't stock compression fittings on the truck (***!), so both journeyman & apprentice left for nearest hardware store 2.1 miles away. Trip took in excess of 1 hour, and I was charged $195 for the trip, plus $92.50 for the fitting. Crawlspace inspection: Not performed, so I was left with no idea if/how the prior dishwasher's supply/drain lines were capped. Hot water recirculating pump: Neither journeyman nor apprentice had seen 1 before, so they didn't check this. Utility sink fixtures: Not performed. Bill rate & invoice: Their quoted rate is $75 for first 30min, then $40 for each 15min thereafter. However, I was billed $195/hr for 4.5hrs (or $877.50 for labor), $92.50 for a compression fitting, and $92.15 for sales tax, totaling $1062.15. After writing a detailed letter to Aurora Plumbing on March 24th, their field supervisor (Danny Fraser) came out to inspect these items on March 31st. He & his 2 coworkers did a very haphazard check on the items above, and asked me to signoff on all work performed & amount paid. When I pointed out the math error on the invoice, Danny then offered to refund the extra $279.22. When I said I'd been left with no ability to return or replace my new appliances & fixtures (amongst all the other problems), Danny then offered to negate the whole invoice if I agreed for Aurora Plumbing to not provide any warranty on any of the work performed. Late the same day, Danny called & said they'd only refund my money if I signed a non-disparagement clause (aka gag order). The next day, Danny sent me an email with their refund proposal, and specifically saying, "... customer agrees not to attack/criticize Aurora Plumbing and any of its employee, associate or partner publicly or on any public forums." FYI, Angie's List policies discourage behaviors that leave members fearful or unable to give feedback, and if that specific company shows a pattern of trying to impose gag orders, Angie’s List can remove the company from category and keyword searches and place a notice on its business profile to alert other members. I sent back confirmation that I agreed any unfinished work would not be completed and that no warranty would be given to the work performed, but I refused to agree to their non-disparagement clause. They refunded the $1062.15 invoice (but not the initial $75 "game plan"), and my son quickly finished up the remaining work.
Description of Work: Installation of new dishwasher, including bypass of existing supply/drain lines & adding new supply/drain lines. Installation of new kitchen faucet. Installation of new food waste disposal under kitchen sink. Installation of new water filter system for existing line to refrigerator's icemaker. Inspect kitchen area's plumbing under house prior to a pre-sale inspection. Inspect a hot water heater's recirculating pump. Tighten and/or replace a utility sink's fixtures.

Response from Aurora Plumbing & Electric Supply
As owner, I am appalled at how this situation was handled! We have already processed a credit for the work performed, and all persons (employee AND management) involved in this extremely unfortunate scenario have been terminated. This is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior, and is not tolerated at Aurora Plumbing. My most sincere apology to Ms. [Member Name Removed], and I will continue to strive to eliminate any such behavior by any employee, technician, or management. Thank you for bringing this to my attention! Sincerely, Brian Dressel, owner Aurore Plumbing

Our water main coming into our basement busted a leak 24 hours before we had to leave in a business trip. Your professional showed up in short order with all the tools needed to creatively stop our leak yet keep the water flowing. Polite, helpful and intelligent. We been using Aurora plumbing for 30 years. For the intelligent consumer they charge by the hour and you're welcome to watch. None of this phony flat rate job stuff that creates overcharging. Thrilled; I tip my plumber $20 for a timely quality job. I hope I never ever have another plumbing problem. But I know I will need them again. They are in my contact management database. Put them in yours.

I called Aurora Plumbing on 3/14/16 for a 3/15/16 appointment. Technician arrived at 8:30am for 8am-10am window -- had a professional appearance and demeanor. The technician gave me a number of options of what could be done and recommendations (which lets me know of the expenses I could expect, if my drains continue to cause issues in the future). I chose to go with clearing the drains (snake) and scheduled a camera drain inspection for the following day. Drain clearing went smoothly, technician cleaned up the work area and gave advice on what I need to do to avoid these type of drain issues in the future. Able to pay with credit card. Overall a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Cleared drain pipes for both kitchen and lavatory sinks.

It went fine except the price was so ridiculous, I was shocked! Im 87 Years old and I thought they were reputable. They came out with 4 men for a job that should have only been 2 men. They came back the day after and supposedly did a inspection. They grossly overcharged me for everything. They got a permit and the permit was only 158.00, they charged me 550.00 for the permit. Everything was inflated horribly. They also had charges on the bill for hauling and dump fees, there was no hauling or dumping done and they charged me 475.00 for something that was never even done. They also charged me for sand to bed the pipe, I went looking and I never saw any sand after they left. They said they always put sand, I went digging 3 ft to the water line to confirm that there was no sand. I made a copy of the description of services and I took it to another plumber and asked for an estimate they came back with a price of 2500. I also had a pressure release valve in the housing next to the water meter (the north city water district added it about last year) when this company was done and gone I notice the pressure reduce valve was gone. They discarded it without my knowledge or consent. All they had to do was put the dirt back they charged me 1792.50 for this. I would never recommend this company to anybody!! At this time, we are currently in negotiations with Aurora Plumbing, attempting to get this issue resolved. Hopefully, we'll be able to reach a mutual understanding and agreement, and we'll be able to get this settled with them rapidly.
Description of Work: This company put a new water service line in from the meter to the house. About 47-50 ft.

The plumber showed up on time and carried the two toilets to their new resting places...in one case up 30 stairs. Everything was installed beautifully and the removal of the old toilets and cleanup was perfect. Aurora Plumbing has a great showroom and knowledgeable salespeople that can tell you things about toilet technology that you can research on your own but can't always put in context within your own home situation. I really appreciated their help and the professional installation which was set up quickly and went smoothly.

Did a nice job talking my wife and I through potential issues that might arise. He didn't first check things out under our house (crawlspace... who can blame a guy for not wanting to go down there?), which might have changed what he told us about potential problems. He was willing to listen and take into account what we had to say, which was appreciated. Area around the bib replacement was left a bit dirty... had to wipe down the siding to remove some dirt and grime left over from the job. In the end, the bib got replaced and everything worked, so that's good. Thanks for helping us out.

Everything went extremely well. The plumber was arrived right on time and went right to work. The cost was actually less than the estimate. It ended up being a 2 visit process since there was tiling of the shower surround involved but he was able to work with my contractor with the timing. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The person who came out was nice, courteous and respectful of the property. He was eager to do the work. Aurora Plumbing is top of the list when my husband needs plumbing supplies or help.
Description of Work: Came out to give an estimate. The person was thorough in finding the problem and giving information regarding the problem and repair needed. Our Home Owner's Assoc. requested this service but as a result of finding what the problem was it became the individual home owner's responsibility to repair. I would have hired Aurora Plumbing had the Association been responsible for the repair.

My tenants called Aurora Plumbing - Ryan & Anthony came out and snaked the line and went in with a camera. They were not able to clear the plumbing and recommended a $5,000+ job. They charged me $399. I contacted my plumber and he came out the next day and cleared the plumbing within roughly 1/2 hr. When I contacted Aurora Plumbing, Wylee was prompt to call me back and was very professional. I explained that I was charged $400 for a service that he couldn't rectify which my plumber fixed the next day. He explained that it was a flat rate of $400 if they come out whether or not the problem is fixed. He said that this explained to everyone at the beginning. I'm not questioning their policy but I am questioning their ability and expertise to fix plumbing problems. I had to pay twice anyway, I would much rather it be fixed right the first time. Even after expressing my disappointment with their inexperience and capability to fix plumbing problems, Wylee did not offer to make it right with a discount or reimbursement.
