Never have sewer or plumbing work done without getting three qualified estimates. The 40+ year old sewer lateral had gradually developed a low spot somewhere between the house and the sewer main out in the street. It clogged one evening. Aurora Plumbing sent a crew out to unplug it, using the main cleanout plug in the basement. They were fast and professional and had the line unclogged quickly. The crew then sent a camera down the line and noted the dip. The sewer line had sagged which allowed sediment to slowly accumulate until the line was clogged. They also noted that the sewer line was showing signs of wear due to age. The crew strongly suggested I have them repair the sag. The bad section of sewer line could be dug up and replaced, and they could begin work the next day. They estimated the work at $7,000. Not knowing how much work was involved, I okayed the work. The crew began work the next morning, and worked for a little less than four hours and repaired the line. They removed about ten feet of old concrete sewer pipe and spliced in new ABS (plastic) sewer pipe. They also installed a cleanout plug. After the city inspected the work, the crew returned another day and filled in the hole, which was also a little less than four hours of work. After seeing how quick the work was I thought the bill was excessive. $7,000 / 8 = $875 per hour for a crew of two plus one mini-excavator. Furthermore the crew strongly encouraged me to have them add a sleeve (lining) inside my existing sewer pipe, at a cost of $85/foot. At ten to fifteen feet this would have added over a thousand dollars to the bill. Aurora Plumbing and I negotiated over the cost. At first they were reluctant to lower the price even one cent, and I was equally reluctant to pay anything more than about $5,000 for the work. We finally settled on a new price, but neither of us was happy with it. Overall the quality of their work was excellent. They saved the sod that was dug up in the front yard to reach the lateral, and replaced it after the excavation was filled in. The materials are high quality and the workmanship (that I could see) appeared fine. But the cost was very excessive for the work done. One slipshod part of the work was that although (as required by law) they called the utility locate service to have any nearby utilities located, they actually began the excavating before the utilities had finished marking their lines. Costwise they way overbilled for the amount of work done. With two other estimates in hand I would have been in a stronger negotiating position before the work started. Always get three estimates for sewer work, and don't let the urgency of the situation compel you to hire a contractor immediately without shopping around.

The plumber said I did not have a hookup/plumbing problem and did not charge me. Advised me on other options that could be solutions to my dishwasher problems. He was in the neighborhood, spent all of 5 minutes at my house so he did not charge me.

Great work, great atttitude and explained everyhing that he was doing. We will use Aurora Plumbing again for sure.

It took four trips to complete the work. On two occasions the parts were not on the truck. That was OK the first time since the dispatcher didn't know which valves he would need. On the next trip the parts were not on the truck and Brian called the office and had someone bring them out immediately. Brian works quickly, but carefully, and did not charge for the return visit trip fee that was not our fault. I didn't have to prompt him to adjust that charge. In general I really like Brian's work, and will wait for him to be available when we need further plumbing work. Overall Aurora Plumbing did an excellent job and did not blast the budget doing it.

They had the part I needed. They told me I could do it myself and patiently explained how.

They do a great job and are an A+ in my book.

It was a very old part and it took them about 20 minutes to repair, and they charged me only for the parts.

My experience overall was not so great. He was a very nice man, however, I found them to be very pricey.

All aspects of work were excellent, both at the store when I decided on and ordered the item, and at home when the item was installed. Travis Mitchel at the store never tried to sell me a more expensive item. Brian George the installer worked quickly and efficiently. Installation took less time than estimated. Technician was personable, item installed was what I asked for and expected.

They did a professional job. I talked to the inspector of the city and he told me the type of job could run from anywhere from 5 to 20K.

I have no complaints about Aurora Plumbing & Electric. They were pretty good. I needed something done fast and they were very fast. It was a big surgery and they had to do it with a back hoe. They dug a hole eight feet deep. They were a little bit over their bid, but I won't really hold it against them. If I absolutely had to use them, I certainly will.

It went more than perfect, and I would rate this company an A+, just an A isn't enough, because I have used them before. Service was great then, and great now. Brian G. was the person to come out, and he was punctual, efficient, and even turned off the clock when he had to get a part that he didn't have in his truck. (The wait was not long.) With the clock back on, he did the work and took the time to explain exactly what he was doing and answered my questions. Knows his stuff and is so personable and friendly! How often do you feel comfortable enough to hug your repair guy when he leaves? I did, I was so pleased with the service and a handshake just didn't cut it. Thanks to Brian G ... I hope he'll never leave Aurora Plumbing! He deserves a raise. Seriously. I told him I was very nervous before he arrived because water things/plumbing scare me, and he was so assuring and good at what he did, that I knew I wasn't being ripped off (like those other bad plumbing companies out there) and yay, I now have 3 working toilets!!! I am so happy to be a member of Angie's and to find this wonderful plumbing company. Price was right too for all he did. Thanks again to the company and especially to Brian!

I went to Aurora Plumbing instead of the big box stores because I needed knowledgeable advice. I was provided step by step guidance on how to install purchased items and was guided as to the best option for my unique situation.

We had a problem with our bath faucet where the cold water would only trickle when opened fully and the hot water would operate in full flow. I found a list of plumbers from here and had sent them all an email describing the problem and asking what each would charge to fix it. I was very impressed with the response I got from Aurora plumbing. They conjectured a little bit as what the problem could be and also gave an idea of what it would cost us. We set up an appointment and they were on time, were able to figure out the issue, stepped out to buy some parts and fixed the problem. We were able to use a coupon as well so it worked out well for us. We would definitely call them again.

He came out, looked at my toilet - told me he wasn't going to be able to find anything that way. He went on my roof with a camera and went into my plumbing. He told me the issue and told me he was going to have to dig up the whole thing to fix it. I ended up purchasing some "plumbers friend", left it in for a couple days and it unclogged.

I would definitely use them again.

I did not purchase a water heater from this company but the contractor I had hired purchased the water heater from this company. I had to fire that contractor for failure to install the water heater in a timely manner and multiple excuses. I then called Aurora Plumbing to get information about the water heater and in explaining my situation and wanting to know about warranty and parts on this water heater I was not satisfied. They were reluctant to give me any information without contacting the former contractor first. If I had walked into their store, perhaps I would have received better service, who knows. They gave me a quote for installation of this water heater based on the information that I gave to them but they were unwilling to come out without a fee that would be deducted from the installation. The estimate came in higher than other contractors based on their blind estimate of the scope of work to be performed. I'm sure this company has a good reputation and obviously they have been in business for a long time. I feel a little more sensitivity for issues such as mine where the contractor has failed and a customer is in dire need of getting someone out to assess the problem would be a nice option for future business. To offer such a service would be a good source of reference in the future to generate more business too. Based on my experience with them, I would not hire them to do any work in my home. Like I said... it does not mean they would not do a good job. I just believe great customer service can sell the business from the get go.

After an initial hitch in scheduling where they messed up on dispatch, the plumber (Sterling) was super professional about phoning me to ensure the timing was good, getting to the site (it's a rental) and getting the job done quickly. I really appreciated how very friendly Sterling was. I was able to use the coupon which made a big difference in my total bill. I will definitely use these folks again for my plumbing needs.

We were selling our condo, and needed to have a dripping faucet fixed. I'm young and don't know what I'm doing, so after failing to fix it myself, we called Aurora Plumbing and Electric. Joel showed up right on time, with a fully stocked truck. He was good-humored and friendly, and didn't mind my watching over his shoulder. In fact, when I thanked him halfway through the job for letting me pester him about what he was doing, he went out of his way to explain what he was doing and why, so that I'd be able to fix similar problems on my own in the future, much to my appreciation. Despite the extra lessons, he still got the job done quickly. Now I'm a little more handy, and getting ready to call him again for the next project that has me stumped.

I purchased a Price Pfister faucet but needed someone to install it for me. I called Aurora Plumbing and Electric and they sent a team of two individuals over. Jamie and Luke were punctual, professional and efficient. They took about 25 minutes to do the job. I was extremely pleased with their work and cleanliness. With the Angie's coupon for $25 dollars off for plumbing the installation that requires two people seemed to a fabulous deal. I will happily hire Aurora Plumbing and Electric again in the future.

Bought a house and after a few months the sink in the bathroom upstairs and the drain in the shower downstairs started backing up. Very very slow drain. Since I'm deployed with the Army I don't have much time at home, so technically I could have snaked it myself, but it probably would have been more work and my roommate well he's not that handy. Bottom line I saw the ratings and reviews about Aurora here on Angie's gave them a call and they were very professional and courteous. They came at the time allotted. Sterling our service man was great and now everything is running great.

I called, they showed up when they said they would, and did the job. No problem.

Very efficient, professional and no problems afterwards. The Plumber offered helpful advice and from his skill and professionalism, I am convinced I will avoid less experienced friends with my plumbing problems.
