They are too expensive. Even though the technician explained everything, it took a while for the estimate to be given. Pleasant electrician. I cannot spend that amount right now. Did not do the work.

Description of Work: Investigated non working outlets, diagnosed, then repaired. They also looked at dead fan time switch, said it was loose wire. It worked for 2 days, and I had someone else come in and replace unit.

The work was fast, professional and almost a year later has held up very well. There was a minor hiccup where the wrong cable was installed for the workout room, but this was remedied without delay. The manual transfer switch was customized and labeled to my satisfaction, with the electrician making several adjustments as we went along so now the house works very well on emergency power during outages.
Description of Work: Replaced all recessed CFLs with LED can trims, upgraded the manual transfer switch so my gennie can power more of the house during blackouts, ran power to an outbuilding, installed two motion sensor light poles with power outlets at the base, made the workout room cable ready.

Electrician was great, we were having some strange voltage issues when we installed a new treadmill. Called As You Wish and they were out within a day or so. The electrician was professional and friendly, insisted on putting booties on before he came in the house. He quickly diagnosed our issue as an improperly installed neutral connection in our electrical panel (we got a new panel when we bought the house about 1.5 years previous). He fixed the problem within a few minutes and charged only the minimum for a service call. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend As You Wish again, they fixed an issue that could have led to a fire. Next time I need electrical work I will be calling them.

The company scheduled an appointment to diagnose and repair the bad switch for between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM. While the service technician did call to say he was running behind, he indicated he would be there by 4:00. He arrived a few minutes after 4:00. He looked at the switch and replaced it, completing the job by about 4:25 PM. It took him longer to prepare the paperwork than to do the repair and the charge was $270 -- including a $160 diagnostic charge and $102 for the actual repair. While the technician was courteous, professional and efficient, the idea that the total cost of the repair was $270 struck me as akin to highway robbery -- particularly given that the technician's total time on site was about 45 minutes. I will never use this company again and will make sure that if anyone asks for a recommendation, it will not be this company.

First off - I had no idea of the cost of an electrical upgrade and was astonished when I saw their bid. However, I sent it out to two other places and received bids that were even higher! I wish that homeowners could make modifications in "upgrades" to make them more cost-efficient but since that doesn't seem possible, I decided to go ahead and have the work done. I've gone through a house fire as a result of electrical malfunction and don't want a repeat. Furthermore, I hope to do some renovating later and a full upgrade is required for remodels. As You Wish Electric was a great place to choose. The project spanned about 10 days but my house is old (75 years) and they encountered a few challenges along the way. They communicated every single issue to me and explained how they planned to resolve it. Each day, they arrived on time and got to work promptly. They kept the house neat and cleaned up every day when they were done (I had very little drywall dust to contend with). They made the minimum amount of damage they could to the walls - part of the reason the project took so long - and were thoughtful with their solutions and work-arounds. They were always available for questions. Finally, they were very accommodating of my pets. This was an expensive investment and I was really in knots about it, but they made it a lot easier to get through. I knew the work would make my house safer and add conveniences to make life a little nicer. I'm glad I chose them to perform the work.

I have a treadmill that constantly trips the breakers, and the technician was able to walk me through options for stopping this from happening. Rather than get a new box, or rewire my house, he replaced one of the breakers for a sturdier breaker, and since then my treadmill hasn't tripped my breaker even once!

Two electricians showed up and gave me a quote of $360 to install the 6-light foyer light. I said I would not pay that much, and they went to the van and called in. They came back with a quote of $250. I still said no, that was still too high. I did not have them do the work. A friend and I installed the sconces and mini-pendants that match the foyer light, and it took us about 15 minutes each light. I can't imagine two experienced electricians would take more than a half an hour to do this job. Very disappointed.

The electrician arrived early! He called ahead to notify his arrival. Imeediately determined the problem and explained the system. As you wish gave me a fair bid, was responsive and delivered as promised. They removed all knob and tube wiring, put in a new panel, helped me arrange a new service drop and managed all the necessary inspections. Their crews were friendly and knowledgable in their fade. I was most impressed with their lead technicians James and Ali. These guys attitude was "whatever it takes to make you happy". It wasn't cheap but it was fair. My only caution is be very careful changing anything after your bid is completed. Change orders, however small, are expensive.

We have now has this company out twice to do an electrical inspection on our home. The first time they came out we had not had any work done to our home and were looking to find out what was we needed. The technicians spent over two hours going through everything in my house (unscrewing all of our outlets, up in the attic, etc). After he was finished he gave us a bid outlining all the work that needed to be done to bring our house up to code (over $20,000). We had a certified electrician come and do all of the work, we marked off everything on the list and then called As You Wish to come out again, for another $180, to do another inspection. This time the technicians were here for about 20-30 minutes. just a quick run through the house- didn't even go in the attic, nothing unscrewed, just a visual observation. He came back with a laundry list of things that still needed to be "fixed" that weren't originally on the list. We asked him to give us an estimate- he agreed that he would send it to us later. The first estimate he sent us was just a bill for $200 stating that there would need to be 2 hours of work done. we called asked for a detailed estimate so we could send it to our insurance company. two days later He did sent it , it said that we had "old knob and tube to be removed" (this was in regards to an old piece that is disconnected and just needs to be pulled down). This was a tactic to make sure our insurance denied us and that we needed them to do the work. We called again and asked that he was truthful about what needed to be done. 5 days later we received an updated estimate finally stating that the knob in tube was in fact not connected and now there is a whole list of things that As You Wish needs to fix?. but while the technician was here he was said it would be in our best interest to fix it our selves and call them to do ANOTHER inspection for $180!!!! what a racket! I don't doubt that they may do fine electrical work- BUT THEY WILL ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH SOMEONE ELSES WORK SO THEY CAN MAKE MONEY OFF OF IT! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES. I'm not upset that we need to do work, I'm upset that with the inconsistencies from tech to tech. I feel their education should be the same across the board, and if they can't do that, they need to look at their records of past services so they do not appear uneducated when they come out.

The two different electrician's that came out to do the work on two different days were great. They explained everything that they were doing and answered all of my questions. No problem with them or their work. The office staff communication was frustrating along with the scheduling. I initially received email communication to set up the first appt. for work between 1-3. By 3:00 I had to call the office to find out if the electrician was going to show up and they had to call the electrician who was still working on his prior job. When he called me, he said he had called the office and asked them to call me to let them know he was going to be late but I did not get a call from the office. It was too late for him to do the job when he arrived around 4:00 so we just walked through what I wanted done and we rescheduled an appt for two weeks out. He said he would give the info to the office and they would call me the next day to confirm. The next day I did not get a call and due to my experience the first time around, I decided to call the office myself to confirm he was going to arrive at 8:00 on the date we agreed and they said yes. On the scheduled date, he did not arrive at 8:00 and I heard nothing so I finally called the office around 10:00 to find out the status and the office told me he was on another job and would be at my house by 12:00. By 1:00, the electrician called to let me know he was just finishing up on another job and when he arrived, he told me they had a company meeting at 8:30 and they scheduled another job ahead of me. The office did not call to tell me of the schedule change so I had been waiting for 2 hours before I finally decided to call them to find out what was going on. While working on the outdoor outlet, the electrician found that the outlet in the garage was pulling from the outlet in the house which is against code and recommended a new circuit for the garage which I agreed to. We scheduled a follow up for the following week. I did get a call that my original electrician no longer worked at the company and they rescheduled me for a later date and sent someone else. They told me the electrician would arrive at 1:30. The day before the appt, I again called to confirm the electrician was scheduled to arrive the next day at 1:30 since I had two frustrating scheduling issues before. O the day of the appt, I had to work in the morning and rushed home to be there by 1:00 to make sure I was early but when 1:30 came, no electrician again. I called the office at 2:30 to find out if he was still coming and they had to call the electrician to check. Again they overbooked him and he was not able to make it to my house until close to 3:30. The job was finally completed. The office did follow up to schedule the inspection but never followed up as far as customer service for scheduling their electricians. When scheduling the inspection, I specifically asked for a PM appointment and followed up with the office to confirm and they said they requested a PM appointment. When the inspector called the morning of the inspection to say he would be at my house in 15 minutes but I was still at work. The inspector said the request he received from them was for a AM appointment. I had meetings in the morning and could not be there so we had to reschedule the inspection. I contacted As You Wish Electric through Angie's List and told them what the inspector told me and they said they requested a PM appointment but had no control over the inspector's scheduling. Not sure who to believe at this point but I've already had 3 frustrating scheduling issues with the office, so.... Also the inspector has a permit request for work that was not done because I cancelled that work and he did not have any information on the actual work that was done. They really need to work on their customer service and be more realistic about scheduling their electricians. I had to constantly reach out to them when I did not hear from them and the electrician was always a minimum of an hour later than originally scheduled. They need to be more proactive since the main distinguishing factor among similar service providers is going to be the customer service. While the electricians they sent were very nice, professional and easy to work with, I would hesitate on using this company again. If I could contact the electrician's directly to schedule and bypass the office staff I would use their services again. There are a lot of other companies that can do the same job with less frustration.

I bought an Angie's List Big Deal for $39. This was good for $150 worth of electrical services plus a whole house electrical inspection. I did not get the whole house electrical inspection as 1) I didn't have time that day, and 2) sometimes ignorance is bliss! The technician, Shadrin, showed up on time, in a clean uniform, and put booties on before he came in the house. He introduced himself, and asked what the project was. He carefully explained pricing before doing the work. I wanted 2 outdoor lights replaced, gave him the new fixtures and bulbs, and he went to work. When he was done, he had me inspect the work and test the lights. Then he removed ALL the debris--boxes, plastic, old fixtures, etc. The final bill was exactly as quoted. They charge by the job, so the cost of replacing the 2 outdoor fixtures was $166. They deducted $150 for the Big Deal, tax on the balance was $1, for a total of $17 (plus the cost of the Big Deal--$39). We discussed some future projects, and later that day he sent me a quote via e-mail for the most pressing project. I am very happy with their work and their professionalism, plus the friendliness and courtesy of Shadrin. I was thanked for using their business (a nice touch). I will definitely be using them in the future.

The appointment was scheduled for a date and time window of my choosing and I was called 20 minutes before the electrician's arrival. The electrician was very helpful, polite, and knowledgeable, explaining what he was doing and answering my many questions clearly. He was unable to install one of the timers due to old wiring (and the more current requirements of the timer) although he spent much time trying to make it work. We have scheduled someone from his company to come out and give an estimate on changing our electrical panel and re-wiring our house.
