First, I had to call them to find out if they even got my big deal purchases (7 days after I purchased it). Second, they sent a really nice and knowledgeable sales guy out to look at the job. He was to give me a quote on the tie in of the other smoke detectors, and other electrical work. Third, I had to call in a week latre to find out if they had the quote ready for me (they did but it had not been sent over, it was promptly sent via e-mail). However, they wanted 5X the cost of the bid deal just to install and tie in the rest of the smoke detectors (which are placed no more then 20 ft from the installation point of the smoke detector/ carbon monoxide combo I was expecting them to install); I was sticker shocked. Fourth, no follow (again) and i finally asked for my money back or for them to come do the big deal with, what is now just a wire nut tie in to the other already installed smoke detectors in the bedrooms. Fifth, still waiting on them to get back with me on installing the combo unit (the big deal) I have already purchase from them with a wire nut tie in or getting my money back.....still waiting and waiting, and waiting.....I think I could have had this project done by now (writing this review 12/10....5 weeks). My conclusion, my additional work stuff confused this deal, but their lack of follow up is unacceptable.
Description of Work: I bought a big deal from them for a smoke and carbon monoxide detector (11/5) and ask it they would do the installation and tie in of three hardwired smoked detectors in the bedrooms. However, they have NOT done anything other then provide a bid on the other services.

Since I was mainly doing research, I have not decided on a service provider. However, they seem to be a good service provider option with the high rating.
Description of Work: Mainly conducted research on their services since they are one of the top rated providers on Angie's List. Have not requested service yet.

Job went fine. Electriciaan was timely, polite, efficient, and kept/left the premises clean. To save the cost of an estiamte visit by the vendor, I had previously sent a detailed description of the job plus several photos. At that point, As You Wish was willing to give me an estimate and dispatch a repairman to do the work. This saved me at least about $150. On the day of the job, there were no surprises and the work was done in about 90 minutes. Total time on premises waas perhaps 2 hrs. As a result, I asked for a discount from the estimate, which was $271, or about $300 with tax. The electrician from As You Wish agreed and cut the price to $250. I thought this was fair. I know from my own business experince that after factoring in the cost of maintaining a truck, paying for training and benefits for the electrician, and all overhead, $250 for 120 minutes of time on-site is a fairly reasonable number.
Description of Work: Replaced an elbow in the conduit that services an external structure at our residence. The elbow box (a plastic box that allows plastic piping (conduit) to wrap tightly around the corner of a structure) had been cracked. Replaacing the elbow required disconnecting the wiring inside the conduit at a junction box about 20 feet way, pulling the wire oout of the conduit, replacing the elbow, restringing the wire, and sealing everything up.

It turned out fine. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. The service was fine. The electrician left us a box of garbage wires. I don't think he meant to leave it there, but he left it so I just tossed it out. I wish he would have taken the trash with him.

I would not call them again because of that.
Description of Work: Very pleasant young man, arrived on time, seemed to know what he was doing. I have no complaints at all about the service. However, I asked him to do one additional thing when here, just removing a light timer box and replacing it with a standard plug-in box for a wall socket. The last guy I had do a similar thing charged me $25. As You Wish charged me $125 for that 10 minutes extra work! Pretty outrageous, and I should have said "No".

Confirmed an appointment blocked time of 8-12 Noon with an arrival time between 8:30a and 9:30a. By 10:45a nobody showed yet so I called the company. I was informed that the technician was out in the field and that I was still within my block of time (for which I expected my work to be done, not just an arrival block). I later received a call saying the technician would not be able to arrive by Noon. My time off from work was a complete waste.

I needed to get some repairs/corrections made in the main panel to satisfy a home sale inspection requirement. As You Wish Electric was available within 24 hours to provide an estimate. The Electrician arrived on time as agreed and was able to make the necessary repairs right then. He provided a few options on what could be done and what it would cost. The completed work looked to be professional and up to code. Overall it was a good transaction and I would use As You Wish electrical again. I gave them a 'B' on price -- this is not a knock against As You Wish electrical, as all electricians are expensive. Their price was inline with what I was quoted over the phone from a few other companies.

We purchased an Angie's List Deal and they promptly came out to check our house's electrical panel and other circuits. On the first visit, the first technician recommended we have the breaker box updated, he said that it was getting old. However, when the second technician came to install the lamp and the new dimmer, he also took a look at the breaker box and said that the box was fine. This was the only detail that we did not like and this is why I am giving them a B in professionalism. The second technician installed the dinning room chandelier and he worked with us until I was satisfied on the position over the table and the length from the ceiling. He also changed the dimmer in the kitchen for a light and even helped us fix another dimmer that was not working very well. If this had been the original technician that we saw the first time, I would have marked an A in professionalism as he truly deserved it.
Description of Work: They checked our entire house's electrical circuits including the breaker box. They also helped us change a chandelier and install a new dimmer for a small pendant light.

Tech arrived 15 minutes early, Aaron was very courteous and answered all my questions and was very professional in asking me questions making sure if this or that was ok with the way he was going to install the outlet. Aaron was done in less than an hour and it looked like he was never here. Will definitely use As You Wish Electric again!

Integrity Energy Systems scheduled the electrical upgrade but we were left out of the loop unfortunately and As You Wish showed up on time before we were ready. Bryant the foreman and Matt the apprentice were accommodating and even cut down and chopped up an eight foot bush blocking the current meter for free. I provided Matt with a detailed circuit list and he labeled everything verbatim aside from one ?garage / garbage disposal? mixup. I also asked to leave a two-pole breaker slot left open for a future garage sub-panel. The work was completed in one day and left my yard and basement clean without a trace of their presence. Unfortunately when I returned home I found they installed a 32 circuit panel which would not facilitate a future remodel we were planning, nor was the additional two-pole breaker slot left open. A message left that evening and it was promptly returned by Anthony the next morning. He was very apologetic and explained there was a 42 circuit panel on the work order, but a 32 circuit panel was accidentally installed. He offered to either install a 16 circuit sub panel or replace the panel with the correct model; I chose the latter. Bryant returned three days later and installed the correct panel, left the job site clean and called later in the day to schedule an inspection. The inspector found no issues and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the wiring inside the panel while the cover was off. In the end As You Wish met my expectations and ensured that the work was performed to my standards. Given they may be more expensive than other contractors, I feel they are well worth the cost. Taylor at Integrity Energy systems also commented that working with As You Wish was VERY easy and they required no technical assistance for HVAC electrical upgrades while other electrical contractors have in the past. The day after work was completed, the receptionist called and scheduled my inspection; it passed without any issue a week later. I was however left hanging because no one at the office could give me a straight answer regarding upgraded wires from the street. The inspector said it was the contractors' responsibility to schedule. It's now been three months, the meter is still not sealed and I've received no word from Seattle City Light. After speaking with the SCL service engineer for my area for a different reason, (tree trimming,) she mentioned my contractor should have scheduled the service feed upgrade. I've downgraded the responsiveness rating to "C" for this reason.
Description of Work: As You Wish Electric was subcontracted through Integrity Energy Systems to upgrade my electrical system in order to support my oil to heat pump conversion. I needed to upgrade my existing 125amp service and panel to 200amps while adding wiring for the heat pump and air handler. I worked directly with Brandon at As You Wish to generate the bid. Brandon was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our needs and provided a rough solar quote and calculated ROI. I was actually unaware of the increased net metering rates ($0.54/kWh) if the equipment was Washington manufactured. He recognized that I was interested in performing some of the heat pump wiring myself depending on price, and broke out the five items required for the upgrade: service, panel, heat pump, exterior 120v receptacle and air handler/auxiliary heat. Brandon was willing to negotiate and we settled on the price listed above. I decided to have all the work performed and selected the Eaton 200amp, 42 circuit panel with surge protector.

Let me give proper credit to the technicians themselves. They were professional, friendly and got the job done so much faster than I anticipated. Thank you! The process before getting the technician(s) to my home could use major improvement. And, because of the technical and field service folks, I make a positive recommendation. However, fellow Angie List members, proceed with caution and be prepared for a small amount of frustration when dealing with the Scheduling team.

Mix up in the time on their end. Courteous and apologized for being late. Polite, professional, and trustworthy. Careful to not scratch the wood floors or damage anything else when bringing in a 20 foot ladder into the house. Efficient. Nice guy. We got an Angie's List deal to install the outdoor electrical outlet ($125 for parts and labor). That took about an hour. And the price we paid to install the chandelier I thought was a good value. $170. It took about 2-3 hours.

I had purchased a coupon deal for $179.00 from As You Wish Electric for an outside electrical outlet for the coming holidays. I was able to schedule the appointment for the following week after purchasing the coupon deal. The time frame I was quoted for when the electricians would be at my residence was between 12 noon and 2pm. They arrived at my house at 12:30. Aaron S. and Ali introduced themselves and asked me what I needed them to do. I had only purchased one coupon meaning that I was scheduled to have only one outlet installed but I asked Aaron and Ali if it would be possible to have a second one installed as well. They immediately said it would be no problem for them to install a second outside outlet and they also said they would honor the coupon price. I advised them of what my ideas were and asked them for their opinions. Aaron and Ali immediately went around the areas of my house that I wanted to have an outside electrical outlet installed and surveyed what would be the best option for me. They provided me with several different options and I really appreciated it. Aaron and Ali presented me with an option to have the outlet near the garage turn on and off by a switch from inside the garage (this means I can turn the Christmas lights on and off from inside my garage and not have to go outside!!!) Not once did I feel pressure to pick one idea or the other. Both Aaron and Ali were extremely professional and they asked me to inspect their work after completion. After completing the work they were scheduled to do, I asked Aaron and Ali about an electrical outlet I had in the rear of my residence that "went out" when a contractor I had hired to stain my deck caused the outlet to stop working. Aaron and Ali tested the outlet and it was actually working. They then performed a reset on the outlet and it stopped working again. Aaron and Ali stated there must be a reset button somewhere in the residence which I unknowingly reset previously which caused it to start working again. I had spent about an hour after the deck contractor "blew" the outlet and could not located the GFI reset. Aaron and Ali then spent the next 20 minutes trying to help me figure out where the GFI reset button to the outlet was located, which happened to be in my upstairs bathroom. I don't think I would have ever figured that out. My overall experience with As You Wish Electric was exceptional and I truly appreciate the work that Aaron and Ali performed and how professional they were. Thank you very much.

I have used As You Wish Electric earlier this year after seeing a recommendation from Angie's List. I knew my electrical panel did not meet current codes, so when I saw the offer to replace a panel for $1147, I jumped at it. As you see above, the total job cost roughly three times the amount, not counting permits, taxes and fees that I expected to be extra. After already having over $1000 in the job, I did not feel I could step back and look for other estimates. I do know that As You Wish Electric did the job for less than another contractor had quoted to me previously. It passed inspection the first time which is something I appreciated. My lesson is to have more information about what else might have to be done to complete a job before purchasing a large deal.

They were able to schedule us in a very timely manner, which was important as we needed to get the work done prior to house sale closing. They installed GFCI outlets in kitchen, updated identification of which breakers were for which areas in the house, and generally just making sure the requirements were met. The technician was very professional, explaining each item he was doing. Work completed in a timely manner.
