Description of Work: A big day's work trimming huge (HUGE!) trees to increase light in backyard and remove overhang from roof, increase clearance around house. Strip ivy from old apple tree, prune large camelias, forsythia.

+ -1 morePrice, promptnesss, cleanup, all was good. But I asked them to be careful of one plant at the bottom of the tree but they carelessly tossed branches on it and didn't seem sorry that we lost over half of the bush. If they had said they couldn't help where the branches went, i would have covered the bush with a box. The branches they tossed very small and tossed by hand, so it would have been easy for them to be more careful. They didn't express any regret about it.
Description of Work: Needed a mature birch tree cut down in the back yard.

Description of Work: Apical did a major tree trim for all of the 6 mature trees on my property. They did a great job maintaining the shape and integrity of the canopy. Absolutely loved the work! They were recommended to us by our yard crew.

+ -1 moreThey were very professional, efficient, and careful. They used ropes rather than spurs to climb. High quality work and pleasant to work with. Very responsive to bid request and arrived at the job site ahead of the arranged time.

+ -1 moreIt went very well. The eucalyptus was damaged in the recent storm and had a branch precariously dangling at the top. I needed it removed quickly but most of the tree service companies were booked through the next two months. Rodger was able to fit me in right away. The work was done surprisingly quick and the area clean-up at the end. They saved a couple of logs for me and left my chips at my request. Both guys were very nice.
Description of Work: I had a 50ft+ eucalyptus removed along with some overgrown trees/shrubs. Trees were cut to grade and chipped on site. They were able to chip everything!

With the laurels, you couldn't even tell there had been anything growing there when he was finished. I'm about to invite him back to remove another tree that has outgrown its welcome.
Description of Work: Removed a large fir tree and an invasive laurel hedge and ground out the stumps.

+ -1 moreI trust Apical. Their advice was in line with items I later found on the state arborist's website. We've used Apical before and have been very happy with their work. They come on time, clean up well after they are done, are very professional, and I like the results of their trimming. I also appreciated their stance on customer loyalty. We had some damage from a neighbor's tree during a big windstorm, and Apical gave us some priority on their to-do list since we were prior customers.
Description of Work: Came to assess whether tree trimming needed to be done. I'd gotten a quote from a walkup estimator and wanted to doublecheck with Apical as I was not sure the work quoted was really needed. Apical came out and said that we really did not need to do what was being quoted, in fact some of the items suggested might actually hurt the trees.

+ -1 moreRoger was professional and a good listener. He asked thoughtful questions about our situation and submitted a bid that was spot-on what we requested. We're waiting until after our lilacs finish blooming, but will probably call Apical back to do our pruning when the time comes.
Description of Work: We had a large branch (~80% of the mass) of our blooming lilac tree fall during a particularly hard rain. We weren't sure whether the part of the tree that was still standing could be saved, or what needed to be done to make that happen. I called first thing the next morning and someone from Apical (Roger?) came out within 2 hours to take a look. He recommended that we let the tree finish blooming, then cut it off at the base; he said the roots would grow new shoots, and that this is typical for lilac trees. (In fact, he was surprised ours lasted as long as it did! He attributed its longevity to its sheltered position next to the house.) I also asked for an estimate on pruning our other lilac tree to avoid a similar situation down the line.

+ -1 moreThese guys are amazing the way they climb trees and trim branches! The know what they're doing and they are concerned about the health of the trees. We have a cherry tree that we asked them to trim but they recommended that we don't trim it until the root system had a chance to heal. They took a conservative approach to trimming the apple tree in order to insure that the tree would remain healthy.
Description of Work: They trimmed some laurel bushes and several trees.

Re-scheduled for Tuesday afternoon the following week, work not done due to time over-run of an earlier job. Re-scheduled for Thursday afternoon -- all was work done (also pruned a fruit tree that was not included in the proposal), site cleaned up: an excellent job at a good price. Great communications throughout experience -- I highly recommend Apical Tree Services

+ -1 moreThey're very professional. They've been doing business for a long time. They've handled some of the largest trees in Washington. They're very savvy. They're not cheap, but you're getting what you pay for. Everything was done at it should have been. They did a good job with cleanup as well.
Description of Work: They pruned a couple different trees that I had, including a huge pine tree, which they did several times. They took down another tree at the same house.

+ -1 moreThe experience was excellent with their services. They responded to my initial inquiry quite quickly. He came and did the estimate even quicker than either of us had expected. It was a very reasonable price. They were incredibly professional and worked me in very quickly. They did exactly what I asked them to do. I was really impressed and I enjoyed the experience. Apparently, they billed me through my email and I didn't get it until I contacted them, so that was the only glitch, but I would recommend them to anybody.

+ -1 moreThey have done various things for me. It is a two guy company, so it can take them a while to get back to you. They are really good, but not as good as a big company. You have to cut them a little slack, but they are a fine company.
Description of Work: Apical cut down a Cherry tree that was leaning against another tree. There were no stumps ground or removed but they did clean-up and got rid of the debris. It took them 2 hours.
