Steve met us at our relative's vacant house. I brought little numbered stickers and Steve walked around the house from item to item, putting a numbered sticker on each item of value while I wrote down his comments and the approximate value of the item. Doing it this way, we were able to go through a small house worth of furniture, artwork, silverware, crystal, jewelry, china etc. in just under an hour and a half. Steve called us the next day with further info on two pieces of art that he wanted to research further. I would use him again and plan to have him look at a future estate in a nearby city. He is quick and good!
Description of Work: Steve came to a house that was owned by a relative who recently died. Steve was wonderful! Since it was a small estate he was able to evaluate china, silver, jewelry, furniture, crystal, art in less than an hour and a half. He was very good!

Mr. Morris was readily available by phone, was on time for our appointment and gave us some interesting information on our paintings and spent a good amount of time looking at the paintings. He did some research on one of the paintings and phoned us the same evening with more information. Very pleasant to work with and has a very good background in the antique business. We would not hesitate to call on him again.
Description of Work: Steve Morris did a verbal appraisal of 3 old oil paintings and did research on one of the paintings to determine who the painter was and the approximate value.

Mr. Morris is pleasant and easy to work with. I feel the price I paid was worth it, although I have no way to compare it with other similar services.
Description of Work: I had inherited two paintings from my mother's estate and needed an appraisal for insurance coverage. After making an appointment, I took the works to Mr. Morris's residence where he examined them and digitally photographed the art work. After making some notes, he told me he would have the appraisal for me in a week. Sure enough, a week later, the appraisal arrived in the mail.

Mr. Morris was very responsive and was able to appraise the candlesticks the same day that I contacted him. He was able to immediately identify the marks and rough date, and he researched the exact date and place of production. I felt confident with his appraisal and would recommend him.
Description of Work: Appraisal of two silver candlesticks for insurance purposes.
