Andrew Eades ORNAMENTAL IRON

My experience with Andrew Eades Custom Ornamental Iron was TERRIBLE! Initially Andrew was prompt when he first came over to give a quote and secondly to do some measurements. He said he could start the project in some months in the future. The quote was competitive. The next year has been a nightmare with Andrew. Every time I would follow up after 2-3 weeks to see when he could start the project he would say he has several projects ahead of me and he can start with me when those projects are done. This continued delay tactic lasted for 3 months, then he would say he needs to come out and do more measurements. This measurements would be completed and Andrew would go silent for months and then say again he has several projects ahead of me. What I learned is Andrew kept putting higher revenue projects ahead of me when they would come in and purposely string me along. Andrew had NO INTENTION of completing my project. He deceived me and kept the project from being completed.

The quality is top-notch and Andrew was pleasant to deal with over email. Measurements of the steps were complete a week after I sent the first email and install was complete one month after that. Keep in mind that everything is custom built. Actual install of the painted railing took one day which included drilling into the stairs to anchor the posts with cement.

The railings look great! Andrew and his team (his wife and nephew) were on-time and got the work done efficiently. They were very pleasant to work with. The railings are solid and the look is clean, price was exactly what they'd estimated.

Great job. The rails match the existing ones perfectly. Color was exactly as needed. Andy was great to work with and I'm very happy with the final product. Would definitely work with him in the future if I need iron work done.

Andrew was very prompt when I sought information on his services. When he came to the house he had pictures (as well as those on his website) and was very professional, got the measurement and informed me approximately how long it would take. It took a couple of weeks longer than expected, but he came out and was prompt and on time when he came by to install. The railing is beautiful and a contractor who also was at our house commented on how well it was done because of the way the concrete was capped at the base. We are very happy and would definitely recommend Andrew to anyone.

Working with Andrew was excellent in all respects. Because he's the estimator, the fabricator and the installer, there's much less chance of miscommunication or misunderstanding than with the large shops that have different people do those functions. Andrew understood exactly what we wanted and the result looks great. He took great care in installing the handrail, with attention to detail. I highly recommend his work.

Result was everythiing we expected - color, shape, size and installation. Eads is easy to work with and installation and clean up were first rate.

The railings were installed yesterday and WOW - they are just stunning!!! I needed new railings for the front of my home. I have a staircase immediately inside my front door that is original to the house (1947) with the original steel railings. I wanted the front steps/porch to have railings that mimicked the staircase inside. I found Andy on Angie's List and had him come out for an estimate. I thought his work looked good and the price was fair. I didn't need the railings for several months and he agreed on my timeline. Well, the time came and he got to work on my railings about a month ago. They were installed yesterday and I could not be happier with the result. They are gorgeous and look great in front of the house. They are installed securely and are super sturdy. Working with Andy was easy going and he delivered a great result. Now to find somewhere else around my house that needs railings...!

It was get working with Andy, he understood right off what I wanted and didn?t blink at taking a small job even when he realized I as all the way up in Everett. He took his time with the install to make sure it as was just right. The railing is so much nicer (and cheaper) than the pre fab?d one everyone else quote me on. I would highly recommend Andy and wouldn?t hesitate to use him again.

It took several months for Andy to free up and be available but it was worth the wait. We designed out own concept and wanted Andy to execute in the design. We were very particular about the size and scale of the piece. Andy was very helpful, providing samples and estimates. He very was professional yet laid back. We We found him through Angie's list and will certainly use his services again for any future custom metal work we need.

The final result was stunning. He took advantage of a difficult curved set of steps and created a new handrail that blended into our existing rockery and landscape development and dramatized the curved steps. His entire process of measuring and layout was very exacting using a full scale template for the location of the railing. We were included into the entire process. We were able to choose materials initially, and add some unique details to the iron work that were accomplished by Andrew. His work was very creative, and flawless in it's execution. Finally, we were pleased that his attention to detail included project finalization and clean-up. Throughout the installation they kept our project site clean and tidy. He is truly a skilled artisan, very professional and a pleasure to be around. Without reservation Andrew is the best.

Our experience with Andrew Eades was excellent. He called back soon after I left a message. He made an appointment for an estimate and was on time for that appointment. He brought along a large photo album of his work and it was easy for me to see samples and choose my design. He came once more to do his measuring and then built and installed the railing to our specifications. The handrail is beautiful and of course will be useful for anyone climbing the stairs. I would highly recommend him for anyone wanting a beautiful wrought iron railing. He is a real craftsman.

Went very well. Estimate was done quickly, work was agreed to and it was finished and installed on time. Andrew was on time for all our meetings. Very nice to work with. It looks great.

Andrew and Judy were awesome. They run a small outfit, but the quality is top notch. Andrew measured my new poured concrete front steps - which have a funky little turn at the bottom - and then I picked a style of railing from photos and examples he had. Did a partial payment for the material draw early on, and then waited (being a small outfit with a lot of work, there were other customers in front of me, but I was fine waiting). Andrew checked in and gave me status updates over time, as well as sent me pictures of the railing before coming to install it. He showed up this morning, cut the proper holes in the concrete steps, put the railing in, and then cemented it back. No muss, no fuss. Our front steps now look gorgeous and really add to the curb appeal of the house. Andrew was a pleasure to work with, very polite and non-salesy. I would recommend him to anyone that needed iron work done.

Andy is a true craftsman and we are completely pleased with what he created. He listened to what we wanted and then designed a railing that included the gate, matched the front railing and was exactly as we had hoped for. He was meticulous in figuring out the measurements including the slope of the walk. When he installed it there was a slight hitch due to the inside mount of the railing, but he quickly fixed the problem. His use of levels was constant, his concern with getting it right was obvious, and the end result was that it looks great! Overall, his work is excellent and he is very good to work with.

It went great, Andy responded promptly, came out and spent time takling with us to see what we wanted. Andy took measurments, and made a drawing to work from. We didnt want it attached to the face of our new cabinets, so Andy designed it to be attached to the very top horizontal surface, then over the top and down the side to the horizontal bars, then across to the wall for attachment, very custom for our situation. After he built it, he then came out to fit it, and note any changes that might need to be made, it fit perfectly, he then took it back to his shop for painting in the finish we choose.When he returned with the finished rack, it was a work of art, looked like it came out of a mold, with smooth weld joints, and a beautiful finish. Start to finish, it was about three weeks, as we told him we were not in a hurry, and to fit us in with his other work. Our new dual rail pot rack looks great in our kitchen and frees up a lot of cabinet space.

I called three providers and Andy was the first to get back to me. He came to the house with a notebook and photos of his work, and from there we were able to choose a design. We had a time constraint since we were going to be having a large Christmas Party and needed it to be replaced by then, which he graciously accomodated. We paid half down and the second half at completion. Andy was professional, punctual and very pleasant to work with. He is very much an artisan and he seems to take pride in his craft in a way that's becoming all too rare. We had interviewed another provider who was downright obnoxious, and Andy is the polar opposite, happily. The railing is beautiful and sturdy and we plan to have him back to complete another section of fencing for us. We highly recommend him.

I had to replace concrete steps to the front porch and sidewalk. All of the old railing had to be discarded. I tried several types of railings for a replacement and Ornamental Iron provided me with good ideas and the most reasonable price I found. They drew up a design, measured and gave me a bid in an hour or so. They were a few days late on delivery, but nothing significant and when they arrived, everything was installed and completed in an afternoon. They look great and appear to be extremely sturdy. I have already ordered a set for the back stairs.

In considering wrought iron railings for our front porch, called Ornamental Iron for an estimate. Andrew responded quickly to my call. He met me on site and shared his impressive portfolio of his work to help with design options. Although we decided to go forward with a wood railing for the front porch, we do have other areas in need of wrought iron work and definitely look forward to working with Andrew in the future on these projects.
