Great! Amyworks was very responsive, easy to communicate with, gave me an estimate for the work and a timeframe for getting the work done. We ended up not having the work done but I was very impressed by Amyworks professionalism, communication, and response. I would definitely contact them for any future needs.

I had a horrible experience working with AmyWorks! I contacted AmyWorks back in April or May to get an estimate for our kitchen remodel. They sent Susan (I believe) out to do the estimate. Overall she was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable - that was not the problem. While she was at our home, she gave us a verbal estimate range that was within the ball park we wanted to spend. To proceed, she informed us that we would need to pay them $500 to provide a full detailed quote so we could start towards hiring them. I should have known not to give over any money, but we wanted to hire them. After paying them the money it took a few days from them to come back with the quote and we were astounded to receive a quote that was $18,000 MORE THAN HER ORIGINAL ESTIMATES! My husband and I spent many weeks trying to work with them on the quote (even trying to take out work that we wanted them to do to fit within our budget), but every time we found a way to cut costs they would add in a new line item. It became ridiculous and we had to walk away. I really feel like they tricked us and would never recommend working with them.

We had the old bathroom cabinets removed. The work went well, but one of the two workers had to go to a hardware store in the middle of the project since she didn't bring the right drill bits. She was gone for about 30 minutes. At the end, I was charged for 2 people for 2 hours. It took 3 weeks for Amyworks to cash my check and refund me for the 30 minutes that I shouldn't have been charged in the first place.

They didn't do it. They said they had a remodeling thing to do and they didn't have anyone to do it. They didn't reply to my last text at all.

They sent me an email and phone number of someone they would recommend, which is wonderful. They were very responsive. I am really glad they found someone for me within my price range.

Amy did thorough, high quality work and she left no mess behind. She replied very quickly to my inquiries and was very accommodating to my unmovable deadline. She was also thoughtful about the materials she was using and took extra steps to make sure the caulk color was suitable for my kitchen. Super polite and easy-going, plus comfortable to have her around in the house. Happy to recommend Amy.

The service couldn't have been better or more professional. Amy runs an excellent business and her professionalism trickles down to the rest of the group.

Looks like she is closing the home repair portion of the business as of 8/31' due difficulty in finding qualified people. this is because Seattle has a construction boom.

Not well. Admittedly, Jo, the workperson had to go to Lowes several times to get correct materials which never really worked out but Lowes is exactly 5 minutes from our home. What should have taken no more than 3 hours took 6 and the bill was $586!!! We paid. To add insult to injury, we had an email from Amyworks 3 weeks later stating that they no longer would be providing handyman services as they could not find suitable workmen(women) and would now be focused on how to workshops. What????? This was the first time we actually used our premium Angies List membership and it will be the last.

Items addressed: - Properly sealed our front door - Fixed two floating shelves that were damaged - Fixed bathroom door from rubbing against the frame - Installed a shade in one of our windows - Fixed a damaged bathroom cabinet All of these items were completely and look great. Tim got through it all relatively quickly and walked me through everything that he did. Would recommend as a handyman.

Fast response, quick fix, friendly service

The fixture is holding firmly to the wall and looks good. I will happily use AmyWorks again and will recommend AmyWorks to my friends and neighbors. Thanks for the great job!

I'm planning on continuing using her because she's doing a great job. The service has gone wonderfully so far.

Efficient. Professional. Quality Work. Most responsive and professional communication of any service we've dealt with to date, corresponded 100% via email and obtained bids for requested work in less than 24-hours. Very interested in ensuring the customers are informed; nothing hidden and no surprises. Service Provider arrived 10 minutes early with all tools necessary to perform requested work. Provided insight and feedback into the work being performed, suggested alternatives for things we had not considered - was nice to be presented with options so we could make informed decisions. Took a few minutes to discuss some other items on our to-do list, and provided insight into potential considerations as well as referrals. Overall very pleased with AmyWorks from all angles, and will be having them come back to perform more work in the near future.

The replacement of the tiles was fine - not perfect, but adequate. The person had a very difficult time trying to work with the ceiling tiles and spent three hours trying to figure out how to do it. A trip was needed to go buy some staples as the worker had not come with a full staple gun. I was a little confused as the ceiling tiles had the instructions on them and adhesive was supposed to be used - such as liquid nails, etc. After their allotted time was done, (no grouting was done at all) they cleaned up and left. I just let it go because I did not want to get angry then. The person broke three tiles and left them in, did not remove the damaged ones, and left the job with b unroken tiles and unfinished work. I had enough tiles to begin with to finish the work, but now I don't because I do not wish to have broken tiles that look REALLY HORRID. My choices are to remove the whole ceiling and redo the whole room at a great cost, or have tiles that look awful, or have mixed tiles which will look awful. The person did not even bother to read the directions. I am very angry because I will have to have someone professional do this and fix it right at a much greater cost. I would not have minded if I was told it was out of the league and they could not do it, even though I can follow the directions to do it. When I called to speak, I was told they would call the next day. The following day, I got an e-mail saying they were busy in the field and could not call me and would call me the next day. I waited until 11 AM and they called at 11:02. I am very upset as we were hoping to sell this house soon, but this puts us in bind. The idiot they sent out did not listen when I stated four times it was being sold. No one would buy it looking like what they did to it. It actually looked better with the damaged tiles!

Checked an electric fixture, shopped for lumber and built attic shelves. Service was done promptly, and Steph provided me with options to think about in how to best build the shelves. Would use again in the future. The only reason I didn't answer all "A's" was it seemed a little pricey.

She said that past customers have refused to pay them when they've done similar projects and expected that I would do the same. I was really surprised at her response to my inquiry, and will not be calling them back.

Scheduling the appointment took a little more effort than anticipated - there were messages on Angie's list, e-mail, and also calls. However, they were very friendly and accommodating during all of it. The actual person doing the work, Carrie, was prompt and responsive. I was aware of the hourly rate going in, however there was no mention that I should have provided the cement and mailbox post prior to the appointment -- that would have helped. Apparently it took 1 hour to gather the needed supplies, and then 4.25 hours to install the cement + mailbox post + mailbox. I had an issue with it not only taking 1 hour to gather the supplies, but a 4.25 hour install. The on-site installer stated there were difficulties with the old cement being there and that additional time would be needed to make it right. I just would expect 4.25 hours later for the mailbox post to look perfect in the ground, whereas right now it does not. On the first round, the mailbox was installed very high - but the installer did come back out to fix it a couple days later. I brought up this issue with the office manager. To their credit, they did make a slight reduction in the hours - dropping it down to 4 total hours instead of 5.25 - but that still seems high for how it looks in the ground. I just really feel like they dropped the ball in making sure as a customer I was happy with everything. It became a little too automated and not very personal at all, especially considering the fact that I had issues with the hours being charged. So, whether it's this company or other 'hourly' handyman companies, I would recommend folks be very wary of any situation in which the company does not provide a flat estimate. It leads to situations like this where I feel a bit cheated, and they probably feel cheated as well.

I contacted this company requesting a bid for installing simple window and door trim at my home. Less than a dozen windows, no high ladder work required. Simple as can be. The response was that this would be a "slightly expensive task" and was told a similar job had cost one of their clients $4,500 -- minus priming and painting.

I was trying to get this job done for my tenant. Initially, the company was very responsive and very nice, however, after the tenant provided photos of the broken equipment, the company vanished without a trace, so I did not have the pleasure to evaluate their work. Would be nice to have at least gotten something like "sorry, we can't get it done".

Steph was fantastic! She arrived right on time and was very skilled and precise. She made sure that all pieces were hung safely. She is also very nice and I enjoyed talking with her while she worked. I will definitely use AmyWorks again and will request Steph :)

Kevin with Amyworks has a work ethic that's unmatched. He tried to do everything that he possibly could in as little time as possible! He was racing against the clock to help keep my cost down! Thank you!

A failed attempt in acquiring service for a simple job. Too simple? I don't know. Lesson learned? Don't be in a hurry. Better yet? Don't waste your time.
