It went well overall. Mark came out and went over the entire property with me as I explained what all I wanted done. He asked good questions and then wrote up an estimate for me. His estimate was mid-range, price-wise, of other estimates I received but he seemed to have good experience and understand pretty clearly what I wanted. They forgot a couple of the tasks I'd mentioned but, when I pointed it out, they came back and did those bits quickly. I had to go out of town unexpectedly in the middle of this so I'm not certain but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they found there was more work than originally estimated. However, at no point did Mark mention raising the price and they did do what I asked. I wish I had asked them to put the yard waste bags up by the street. They put them by the yard waste bin which makes total and complete sense but meant I had to carry them up to the street myself on yard waste day which was a lot of work! :P Now that they've done the initial cleanup, I've also contracted them to do our regular maintenance. We communicate via phone and email regularly to ensure we're on the same page. And they carry the yard waste to the street when it's the week for pickup. :)

Mark did a great job in tearing out the mock-retaining wall installed by a previous owner and installed a super solid wall with a few steps. It looks great and I know it will last forever. Mark is very professional, responsive and did the job at a very fair price.

Mark and his associates were simply a pleasure to work with. They provided a detailed estimate with a fair price up-front and were flexible and hard-working as the job progressed. Mark offered many creative suggestions to problems as they arose and happily took on additional projects and one-offs as well. He communicated clearly and effectively throughout the project, was prompt, professional, and trustworthy and made the whole process easy and enjoyable. He was also quite patient with our inquisitive four-year-old, which was a definite plus! Our new yard looks incredible! We're planning to do additional work on our property in the future and will definitely use Mark. We'll happily refer him to friends and family, as well.

From beginning to end, from the estimate to the final clean up, from the business end to the work itself, all went very well. He was responsive to phone calls and emails, was creative on the job and worked hard. Mark does more than fencing, he does hardscaping as well. I highly recommend him.

Mark was prompt and on schedule from estimate through finish of the work. He has a pleasant and professional approach to his work. I was very happy w/the quality job he performed. I don't have a comparison for costs because I didn't get other estimates and so scored it N/A. I just contacted Altered Earth because Mark was able to handle both the fencing and mortar work.

It took a little while to get Mark out to do the estimate, he seemed a little swamped by work, took several days to get back to me after the initial contact and took a little while longer to get him to actually look at the yard. His estimate came in well under everyone else's, he was able to schedule the work right away after he gave me the bid and the results look phenomenal. It should be noted that maintaining hedges isn't really the bulk of what he does, he does more landscape work normally.

Fantastic. Mark is very professional, attentive to details and conscientious about the quality of his work. He fabricated gates for our driveway to allow the kids to ride bikes and be contained, that are great. He designed them after speaking to us about what we wanted and they are perfect.

I got Mark's name and contact info from Angie's list. I called him to ask for a bid on trimming a hedge. He said he mostly did hardscapes now but immediately followed with, "work is work, though." I liked his attitude right away. He came out as promised and we set a date and time one month out. He was punctual, did a great job and communicated well with me. He genuinely wanted to hear if I was satisfied with his work and if I wanted him to trim any more etc. He is very gracious and easy going yet a hard worker and good at what he does. He went beyond the call of duty but chatting with the adjoining neighbor and got them to contribute to the total cost. Well done!

Mark was fantastic. He is very capable, affordable (the lowest bid we got), and responsive to the needs of the client. The patio he built for us had a challenging element (arched stairs) and Mark went the extra mile to make sure that every aspect was perfect. We also hired him to level out part of the yard, cut some large bushes back, install a short retaining wall structure, and re-assemble our play structure. Mark worked hard, communicated clearly, and was flexible as our needs evolved. I have already hired him for another project and have recommended him to friends.

Prompt response to initial inquiry. Ability to accept credit cards would have hastened the project beginning. The work was quick and amazing. Mark and crew are meticulous and left site tidy every night. The walkway, patio and driveway are lovely and turned out much nicer than I had envisioned. Nothing was done halfway and I am extremely pleased with the result.
