Alpine Fence Co

While we ended up with a new fence at the end of the day, it was an awful experience and I can't recommend Alpine. They were great upfront, then it all went downhill when the work started. The estimated 2-week project took 8 weeks to complete. Communication was consistently poor. Several times no one showed up on site or even responded to calls and texts for multiple days. We received complaints from neighbors from builders leaving trash and trampling their plants. For what we paid, we did not expect this level of unprofessionalism.

We had Town and Country fence do a big project for us 2 years ago and were very satisfied. I always try to get more than one bid so I called Alpine. They were responsive and professional but their bid was double the bid from T&C. We will go with T&C.

Great to work with. They were very informative and had everything in stock. Custom built a gate in two days.

Ron, the rep who came out, was great. Punctual, profession and practical. He showed me how the company that installed the fence -- NOT Alpine - had overengineered the gate and used hinges that were basically industrial hinges for VERY heavy gates. It was like putting a 426 Hemi into a Dodge Dart. However, now that the hemi is blown, I can either pay for a new hemi, which I really don't need, or move to a more practical 283 engine, which will be less expensive but I'll also have to pay to have the vehicle retrofitted. Still not sure what I'll ultimately do, but Ron's professionalism and honesty make me confident that, if I do choose to have the work done, Alpine will do it right.

In mid-June I left messages with several fence companies requesting an estimate for a new fence. Alpine called me back promptly, even though they were so busy they couldn't come out to look at the job until late July. I have yet to hear from any of the other companies I contacted that day. The rep from Alpine showed up on the date and time specified and provided the estimate. I got another bid after that to make sure the price was reasonable; it was. The crew from Alpine showed up on time and ready to work on the scheduled day. They were professional, efficient, and tidy. They finished the job in four days (it poured rain on them for at least 2.5 of those days). My yard is fairly narrow and has a slope and I wanted a grid fence. This meant they needed to manage tight corners and the up-and-down grade without making the fence look choppy or awkward. My new fence is sturdy and looks great. I'm really happy with the work they did.

They were quoting for the same thing, about $6500.

If the posts and other wood I purchased from Alpine is any indication, they use very good cedar for their fences. The posts were #1 clear cedar and the reject 2x4's were as good as I found at lumber yards. But the most valuable item I received was their free advice. I have no doubt of their fence-building skill. I had several issues with my fence and they gave me several good options that I had not thought of yet to tackle them, as well as just some good fence-building tips. They were also very friendly when I picked up my wood. Different members of the family probably gave me 45 minutes of their time to help me get started with my fence. They saved me some time, money, and a few headaches. In fact, I must admit that when they told me what they would have charged me to build my fence, I had some regret that i hadn't hired them. I had more regrets later. The price would have been a bit more than the DIY cost, but I would have at least 70 hours of my life back and a better looking fence. I had to learn as I went along and that shows when you compare the first few panels and the last few panels of my fence.

The new fence looks great and the style even matches the existing fence. I will definitly use Alpine Fence for any future fencing needs. I was able to contact them by email to request an estimate, and to arrange the work day and later final payment. They were very friendly and responsive to my questions.

The two men who worked on the project were fast and efficient. It took only two days for them to complete it and it looks great. The salesman, Art, was really personable, communicative and easy to work with. Alpine was more expensive than the other bids I received but I felt more comfortable hiring them for the project. I'd hire them again!

Alpine originally installed the fence 10 years ago and we were pleased with their work so decided to call them for the repair work. Art from Alpine was quick to respond with an estimate that I felt was fair. Job was performed quickly and professionally.

Great - he came out quickly and gave his suggestions on what to do as well as options. His suggestion (to repair/strengthen fence sections) was cheaper than what I'd asked him to do (replace fence section), and he said parts of the fence were still in great shape and didn't need to be replaced. He got me a contract quickly, which I signed and returned. I also let him come anytime, so I wouldn't need to be home, since it was a simple repair on my property. Then one afternoon I came home and it was all fixed. Couldn't recommend enough.

Alpine showed up as scheduled, good crew, and completed the work within three days. We are pleased with the fence and have heard several positives from our neighbors. The owner was responsive when working with us on the estimate, where we had several changes before deciding to go ahead. The "B" score on quality is because of a couple of minor details on the gates, which we could have pointed out with closer inspection before they wrapped up. Would recommend, would use again.

These guys did an amazing job! I had just moved to a new home and the back yard was not fully fenced. I desperately needed the back yard completely enclosed and absolutely doggie escape proof! Despite their full schedule, Ron Scott was able to come out to the house the next day, get an estimator out to the house to provide a quote and work me into their schedule. Gabriel and his crew were so meticulous over every detail!! I told Ron he had a customer for life! Not only is my fence doggie escape proof, it is absolutely beautiful! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my new fence!!

I decided to go with this company because they are on Angie's List and their price is reasonable. I have them scheduled to come out next month to put up the new fence.

Work was performed in a timely and satisfactory manner. Retaining wall involved substantial labor. Good end product. Nice re-use of existing gate.

Art came by to quote job, and he devised a plan that would fix the fence for the least amount of work and cost. Three support posts were added to the existing posts, and now the fence is no longer leaning and is sturdy. Other vendors suggested more elaborate fixes, and the cost was higher. The quoting and repair process was easy. We had a little bit of a scheduling issue where the workers came at a different time than expected. One call to Art and he responded quickly with the new time. Also, since this job was very small it took some extra time to get it on the schedule, but we did not have to wait too long once I committed to the project.

Other bid was $125 for same work.

The crew did an amazing job, and it was not easy, because half of the fence needed to be anchored in a retaining wall. They were prompt, friendly and professional from the initial sales call, through the installation, and including the final walk through. The final price was exactly as quoted, which made me very happy! I've recommended them to several neighbors who have used them and were also satisfied. I would happily use them again.

I was not home when work was done so did not see them personally working but others in association did not complain. The workers did what they came to do in a timely manner, with all materials needed and cleaned up when project was done. I did not notice anything out of place when I returned home.

They did really good work. We were going to call them back to do another segment of our fence but our contractor said he can do the same fence for a better price so we're going to let him do it. Apline did a really good job. Their crew was really good but they're a little bit on the pricier side. But they do their work better than others and we compliment them on the fence all the time. They did the work last June or July. We spent about $6000. We had 2 segments and a gate and a bunch of irrigation issues so it was a lot of things to deal with. Overall it was good. They showed up on time, did their job, cleaned up and they left the scraps for me and stacked it up nicely because I have a fire place. I don't know about any other company.

They were very good and responsive. My experience with them was fantastic. My husband racked my neighbors fence because it was his first time driving and he had no clue what he was doing. Unfortunately that was not just a regular house it was also a business of a daycare center so there are children in the yard playing all the time. They could not run the business without the fence. We called this company; they showed up on the same day and fixed it the next day so it was amazing. I've had people say that we can get one side of the house fence for almost the same price of $1000 because what they did was only the corner and charged us the same price. The quality of their work was great.

They did great. They got it all done in one day. The guy even worked up after sunset with a head lamp and finished it all in one day. It matches exactly. Overall, it was a great experience. The price was real reasonable. I know we had five estimates and it was not the lowest and not the highest. I think it came in second and we were just really impressed with the way they did their quote and everything. They exceeded expectations in every way possible. The value of the work exceeded the price that we paid.
