All Year Moss Control

I called for an estimate on April 30, 2012. I received a confirmation call from All Year Moss Control later that same day. Rich stopped by my home today, May 1, 2012, and called me with an estimate which I accepted. He began the work and was finished by the time I arrived home from work. The house, garage and outbuilding look wonderful. My neighbor has an old maple tree that overhangs the garage and outbuilding and they were a little bit of a mess as I haven't crawled up there in a few years. Along with the fact I no longer have vegetation growing out of my gutters, I am very pleased. I will use All Year Moss Control again.

They came and did what they promised they would do and I liked the work they did for us.

Rich came the house the next day after the initial call and was able to quote and do the work the same day. He is well equiped using a commercial grade circular washing head for the driveway. The entire job took about 1 hour rather than the several hours required if using a traditional spray nozzle. The quality is good and no additional clean up was required.

Rich arrived and we discussed what was to be done. He then surveyed the site and we agreed on a price. He provided several different options and of course we picked the most expensive. We have a relatively large roof and this is the first time the roof was cleaned since the house was built in 1996. The work was done in a professional manner with excellent cleanup afterward. Rich is very conscientious, will do exactly what you want, but will also offer cost saving options.

He was good. He was very punctuality. I have not gone to check the gutters but I assume it is clean.

We waited a week, and then called someone else.

The price was great. The guy did great work. I have used them twice.

I had pretty bad moss and had tried one 'natural' non-toxic treatment which flat out did not work, not even a little bit. I did not want to have a spray wash because it can damage roofs, but I decided to risk it anyway on the basis of the high ratings - not necessarily very rational, since the ratings did not address roof damage. I called for an appointment, and the woman I talked to was giving me the pitch which I did not need to hear because I already decided to use them because of their high Angies list rating. She was polite and stopped when I asked her to do so. All correspondence was professional. When I asked about damage to the roof, and what he does to minimize it, he did not have a lot to say. I hoped at least he would say he takes great care, watches the angle, keeps pressure as low as possible to get the moss off, when it is very ornery, I hoped he'd' resort to manual techniques rather than risk damaging the roof. He said none of this and I just hoped for the best. He worked very quickly, and took great pains to clean up everywhere the very considerable mess. He even pressure washed my deck which was totally unnecessary, but a welcome extra. Took him 1 minute to do what would have taken me 30 with a home-use model pressure washer. The driveway and the side of the house all looked pretty spic and span. PROS: * on time * all the moss was gone * cleaned up almost every thing to be spic and span * low price * worked very quickly * did some extra work cleaning my deck for no charge that saved me work. CONS: * I looked on the roof to check for damage, and for the most part it seemed fine. However, a large area of maybe 15ft by 10ft that had particularly bad moss showed significant damage. I cannot be sure whether this was due to damage from the pressure wash, or whether it was somehow damaged already by the moss. Possibly a combination. * the chimney had apparently been sprayed because there were significant chunks of brick that came off - I will need to repaint it. Not a big deal, but noticeable. I'm quite sure this was caused by the spraying, because it was painted very recently by a top-quality painter. * [very minor] he did not clean up the mess on the lawn itself, saying that ti would be taken care of when mowing lawn. That was not quite true, I have to either look at the mess or rake it up myself. PUNCH LINE: He came, worked very quickly, cleaned up much better than would be expected and the roof was very clean. The price was great. There was significant damage to many of the roof tiles in one area -which I cannot be certain was caused by him, but it seems likely it played a role. Many patches the size of a quarter or larger that were totally free of the rough protective gritty exterior of the tiles. I will need to have it looked at for possible repairs. I said I would use this contractor again, but the truth is, I would probably not hire anyone to do a spray wash on my roof again. I plan to have him come back in 2 years for a followup anti-moss treatment.

Great. The guy seems to have a bit of an unusual personality, but was extremely prompt and thorough.

We called for an estimate and got it within 2 days. Rich looked at the house and left an estimate without us having to be present. We got three other bids, one that was similar in price and two that were much higher. When we called to accept the bid, we were told he probably would not be able to come for about 2 weeks, but he had an unexpected opening and actually came just a few days later. He is a one-man operation and his equipment is not fancy, but he has set it up so he can do his work very efficiently by himself, and he is conscientious and friendly. He did a thorough job, removing a very large quantity of moss and leaving the roof quite clean. He made it clear in advance that he does not haul away the refuse, and sure enough there was a lot of residue on the lawn areas around the house when he finished, but he did clean off the front porch, rear deck and walkways, leaving them clean, and bagged the moss from those areas so we could dispose of it easily. My only disappointment is that in a couple of places where he removed gutter covers for purposes of cleaning, he did not put them back in place. Overall I'm pleased with the work, especially given his reasonable price.

We have been using Rich (All Year Moss Control) for a number of years (can't remember how many but at least five or more) and he is always quick to respond, pleasant to deal with and does a very good job at a very fair price. He has been cleaning our roof one to two times per year and treats our shake roof with a preservative/brightener every couple of years. Consequently, the roof has outlasted our expectations. Highly recommend.

It went well. I chose them because I saw that they had a good rating on Angie’s List. They were prompt and polite, they did a good job, and we were very happy with their performance. They did a high quality job and they were good in terms of price.

He was excellent. There was only one thing and that was my fault because I didn't see it. I got him originally from a neighbor and then I found him on Angie's List. Down at the bottom of his ad that he puts on Angie's List, it says that it does not include debris removal. I wish I had known that because this is a duplex and there are renters there. Had I known that, my partner would have gone over and cleaned up the debris. It wasn't a negative because they advertised it that way. I just didn't see it. He's very green and very conservation minded. He explained when he first did the work for us what he was using, how it was environment friendly, how the run-off would not hurt the animals or the earth, about how long it would last, why he used it, and how long he had been in business. He was doing our neighbor's and that is how we first connected with him. He was just really slammed schedule wise, but I was facing an appraisal of that property to get it resided at a lower rate. Even as slammed as he was, he was able to squeeze my duplex in in order to get it done before the appraisal. He was very helpful. He is very personable and professional. You don't feel like you are being sold anything. He explains his product and what he can do and what its benefits are. He doesn't pressure the customer but you are well informed. I have actually told my other neighbor on the other side about him because he did such a great job. I think it's a very small company, but he is very responsive even though he doesn't have a lot of resources. He doesn't have a big crew and I think it helps keep his cost down too.

Very responsive to quote requests, customer concerns. They had a genuine, down to earth communication style. They were out performing the work within days of initial contact. The job itself seems pretty good. roof and gutters are clean, and moss control is applied. The price was ok, maybe a little more than "the other guy". The only thing I was less than 100% pleased with was that there was moss all over my yard and shrubs. Maybe this is unavoidable - I know the dirt and grime has to go somewhere. I just worry that the displaced moss will start to grow in my lawn and shrubs. I will have to do a little extra cleanup on my own. Overall, they were pretty good and I will likely use them again.

I called Rich's office and he called back but I wasn't at home. I contacted him the next day and he was at the house the next day. He is very friendly and easy going. I asked if I needed to sign something or give him a credit card and he said a hand shake is good enough. He works very fast and does a good job. He noticed some roofing problem with some of the shingles on the small house and brought that to my attention.

They were pretty good. He was available to do the job. He came in to do the estimate. We approved the estimate and he did job almost immediately. He did a good job cleaning the roof as we wanted all the leaves blew off.

Overall experience was good. Gutter cleaning is complete with minimal mess in the yard. I am disappointed that the moss treatment isa not working. Due to my site, many large trees, I may never be able to control the moss.

Overall I was very satisfied with the whole job! It started out a little bumpy, but Thomas made everything right and he was very gracious and friendly. I would definitely use Thomas again and there was another gentleman working with him, too that assisted him. l

I had several estimates to remove moss from my shake roof. Other companies had ads claiming moss control performed for several hundred dollars, but when they got here that several hundred turnrd into several thousand. Rich gave a total estimate of $650 for gutter cleaning and spraying moss control material. The cost also included replacing several shake tiles that were in really bad shape. Rich is a very easy person to deal with.Overall I'm very satisfied. The only complaint I have is to make is to make sure you cover or remove any wood furniture on your deck that may get moss control spray on it as it will get spotted. I suppose Rich should have warned us about this beforehand.

They were on time, on budget, easy to schedule, very clear after the job on what they had done and what they had found. Made great use of simply modern tools (like the camera on their cell phone). I will definitely be using them in the coming years, and expect to use them to replace a gutter that is failing.

A job well done! Rich was quick with a price estimate of the job, he worked quickly, and I believe he did a thorough job cleaning the roof and siding. When he was finished, he did a very good job of cleaning up. I would recommend RIch to anyone.

I would probably go a different root before choosing to use them again in the future. The job was tough, because it is a tall house. The man's personality was a little off.
