All Year Moss Control

The experience went okay. I have a deck on one side of the house, and they must have cleaned it very quickly, because I had to clean it off when they had finished. My windows were also very dirty when they were finished. They did do a great job cleaning the roof though.

Everything ran smoothly. I called and left a message. A lady returned the call ad told me Rich will contact me in 2-3 days. On the third day, Rich called me from my house while I was at work. He gave me the estimate. I let him go ahead and finish the job. When I returned home I saw the bill of $86.57 at the door. I paid him $90. I like how easy everything went. I'll call him again next year for the roof treatment.

I felt the cost was reasonable and the service was great! When he came to scope the job, I was on the way to the airport. He called me and asked if he could do the work right then. He trusted me to pay him even when I wasn't there and when I got home the work was done. It looked great!

Called his office on a Monday afternoon for a bid, left a message and received a return call from his assistant, who said he could be out within the next week to give me a bid. I received a call on Wednesday morning from him (standing on my roof) and gave me the estimate of $920 and told me he could start immediately. I thought it was a little high, but the majority of the cost was for the moss control stuff and he said he could make the roof look almost new and use a tinted version that would match well with the brick on my house. I gave him the go ahead and he worked all day. When I got home at around 5:00pm he was just waiting for the roof to dry and put on the moss control. THE ROOF LOOKED GREAT....Worth every penny!!!!!!!

Rich appears to have done a great job. Besides coming in with the lowest estimate of the 4 companies that I got estimates from, Rich also does his own work and has been doing it for quite awhile. Based upon that, I felt more comfortable having Rich on my roof vs some outfit with questionable experience. Also since Rich is not in the business of selling roofs, I felt like I could get an honest/unbiased opinion about the quality of the roof. Rich came on time and after about 5 hours, had our roof looking brand new, neighbors have been impressed. One last thing, he used a preservative that maintained a nice looking cedar color vs. the preservatives that some folks use which leave an ugly looking silver color (several of our neighbors used outfits that use that type of preservative and I think it looks awful).

My experience with them was good. They had a good price. They were very professional. They came very quickly. They did the job well. They were easy to get in contact with. I would recommend them and use them again.

First I emailed but no response. I phoned; it went to an answering service which took my name, address and phone number. No response. Called back a week later and this call was answered by the sister of Rich Herboldt, Dena. She said she remembered getting a message before but the phone number had apparently been taken down incorrectly. Note: it should have been easy to find in the phone book with the other info. She let me know that she gets the info and faxes it to him. I asked if he would come for an estimate and phone me on my cell phone, but NOT on Tuesday which was the next day. The next day we left for the airport and upon reaching our destination about 5:00 east coast time (2:00 Seattle time) there were 6 phone messages from Rich. One, that he was on his way to the house and 5 more after he'd arrived. I immediately phoned his cell number, which he'd left on each voicemail. Was able to reach him. Said I felt badly that he'd come when he couldn't contact me and made it clear I'd emphasized NOT coming that day. He said there was an arrow pointing to Tuesday on the message from his sister and while we were talking he looked again and saw that it said any day except Tuesday. He apologized for the misunderstanding. Rich then gave me the figures for cleaning the roof and gutters plus powerwashing the paved areas including concrete outside the house front door. The estimates seemed quite good and I really wanted it done so I gave him the go ahead. Shortly after that I left a message on his cell to be sure to include the approximately 12'x12' outbuilding behind the house as the roofs & gutters for it were the same as the house's. We returned to Seattle 10 days later. The roofs were cleaned, gutters were cleaned & paved areas had been powerwashed. That was good! The not-so-good were (1) the 4 ridges of the outbuilding had approximately 6-8" of white stuff on them; (2) plants in pots had been scattered -- some put on lawn -- and a few small ones overturned; (3) all around the house the trees & bushes (including the neighbors') had roof debris particles. Over the next 3 weeks I phoned twice a week. After the 3rd call his sister phoned to ask why I'd called and I told her why I wanted to speak to him and she said something like the forecast was probably for rain. I even left several voicemails on his cell phone. After the 6th office call, she phoned again & I made it quite clear I definitely want to talk to him. A few hours later he called. It sounded like after we'd talked that first Tuesday he'd come back and done the job, then got the voicemail about the outbuilding, come back and done it and didn't want to hook up the water again & put on the anti-moss treatment counting on rain to take care of it. I asked if I should water it so it could at least work but he said no. He'd left the bills in my mailbox and I sent his check. Within days, heavy thunderstorms washed the white anti moss right away.

The work performed was excellent quality and was performed per quoted price and schedule.

Excellent. He called back shortly after initial call (on a weekend no less), came out for a quote and then performed the service on the spot. From initial call to project completion no more than 4 days had elapsed (including the weekend).

He called prior to coming, was on time and delivered his bid in writing. Upon being awarded the work, he scheduled the time, arrived on time and did an excellent job.

I had a little trouble getting in touch with Rich, we played phone tag for almost a week before finally getting in contact. (He would call once a day around noon and when I didn't answer my cell, he'd leave a message, but wouldn't answer his phone for the rest of the day.) Once he came, he gave an estimate and I hired him on the spot. He's definitely a character, but likeable and honest. It took about four hours to complete the job and he'd frequently knock on the door to give me updates. He didn't clean off the lawn or bushes surrounding the house, but that was stated upfront in his estimate. The blow-off of the roof was about 95% complete, which could be a factor of my old roof or his inattention to complete detail. Overall though, I was very satisfied with his work.

I just wanted to check in and let Angie's List know that we hired this company to clean our roof this summer and I submitted an acceptable report to you. But, Friday we received in the mail a bill telling us that we did not pay state sales tax on the job and we were being billed for it. I pulled out my invoice and indeed we had been itemized for and paid sales tax on the job. The amount we were being asked to pay him was a little less that the amount we had paid. I am not pleased that someone with book-keeping problems is trying to collect on something that was paid 8 month earlier. If you hire him, make sure he itemizes sales tax on the invoice and keep your copy! Estimated cost was $400.

I thought it went great. Work was done quickly and although it's a messy job everything was attended to and cleaned up. My neighbor was even alerted and was able to move his car.

Rich did an excellent job. He arrived on time and worked steadily until all the moss and other debris was gone. He advised me to treat some stubborn moss on the north side of my roof with zinc rather than spend more money to pressure wash that area. The only difficulty arose with my water pressure. He needed to tap into a neighbor's water faucet to get enough water pressure to do the job right.

This guy was GREAT! He arrived to give an estimate prepared to do the work that day. He is pretty much a one man show and this is all he does so he works hard to make sure the customer is satisfied. We hired him on the spot and he got busy cleaning the roof. It was pouring rain that day and I'm sure it was miserable for him up on the roof spraying the moss off, but he did an excellent job. He even cleaned the gutters and there was no mess afterwards. I would highly recommend this fellow for roof cleaning. This was something I wanted done for a couple years and put off because I figured it would be close to $1,000 to get done. It was half of what I expected and the quality was very good. This guy is a great choice for roof cleaning.

Our experience was good. The guy is a bit of a character, but he did a good job and he's sincere. I prefer a genuine character to a smooth-talking guy any day. He came on short notice. When he arrived, he found that the water pressure at our hose was insufficient, and we had to ask our neighbor if we could borrow their spigot to combine with ours and increase the pressure. Knowing the age of my house, it would have been nice to be warned ahead of time that water pressure could be an issue - we were lucky that my neighbor was home as I wouldn't have felt comfortable hooking up to her hose without asking. He spent some time explaining the pros and cons of pressure washing and zinc vs. zinc only. We opted to have both done on the house, and the zinc only on the detached garage. He cleaned up the major debris left by the pressure washing, (rinsed off windows, etc.), but there was still quite a bit of debris around the perimeter of the house left for me to rake up and get rid of.

I left a message and they got back to me within a day or so and came out to my house a day after that. The owner was straight forward, knowledgeable, and timely. He warned me that there would be pieces of moss all over the ground and he was concerned about the effect of the service on our neighbor's landscaping (beauty bark) since our houses are so close together. Everything turned out just fine though.

The company returned my call within a couple of hours. Arranged for the work to be done the next day. The gentleman completing the work called to let me know when he would arrive, evaluated the job and then explained the cost, showed me his licenses and then went to work. The gentleman who did the work did it in a timely manner- approx. 50 minutes. All work was completed as agreed. Note: this company does not offer debris removal service, so any debris collected and bagged remains the property of the client.

Excellent service overall. Rich came out to my place on time and gave me a breakdown for the work & cost. He's very attentive to details. He surprised me when he called me out to look at the driveway and told me that the driveway wasn't bright enough because of years of accumulation. He offers to clean the driveways with bleach for no extra charge. If you need someone honest and takes pride for the work they do, go with Rich.

All trace of moss on the roofs is now gone. Rich left a "line" of white zinc compound powder on the peak of each roof and traces of the white powder were visible on the roof for a couple of days until the rain showers washed it down the roofs. All Year Moss Control estimates the zinc treatment will last approximately two years. I am happy with the results and will certainly use All Year Moss Control in the future. Hopefully, I will have the foresight to renew the zinc treatment before having to pressure wash clumps of moss from the roofs.

After my initial call it took a few days for them to get back to me. I recieved a call at home explaining that when they had a job in my neighborhood they would stop by my home and give me an estimate. A couple of days latter I recieved a call at work. They were at my home and we discussed what I wanted done and the price. I had bids from a couple of others for comparison. Based on this I told him to go ahead. By the time a got home my roof had been blown clean, treated for moss and the gutters cleaned. They were very careful to clean-up after the work was completed. My wife even remarked that the patio was clean.

They were prompt and did a great job. I think I got a good value for my dollar as he charged me $75 for the air cleaning and $13 to spray the zinc on the roof. He also cleaned my skylights for free which was a very nice touch. I highly recommend this company. I will use their services again.

Rich arrived to do an estimate. The estimate provided was extremely reasonable and we told Rich that we wanted his company to do the work. He was able to clean our gutters on the spot and did an exceptional job in a short amount of time.

I had contacted a number of companies to give me an estimate for cedar shingle repair. I got all sorts of bids from complete roof replacement to individual shingle replacement. The problem all the other companies would only give me estimates, would not make recommendations without a full scale costly inspection. In talking with Rich I felt he gave me his honest opionion and didn't try to sell me on work I didn't need done. I am doing a lot of work around my house and I wish I met more contractors like Rich.
