I called this company to get an estimate for a new fence. We agreed on a date and time. The date and time arrived and I got a voice message stating an emergency occured and that they would not make the appointment and that was it. I had to call to get a rescheduled date and time. I called the day before to verify appointment and got an email confirmation about a window of hours 10-12. Our appointment as orgianlly at 1:00pm. After nobody showed or contacted me I called and was given a voice message recording that had an old message from new years 2019. It was now june 2019. I left a message. I emailed back to the scheduler no responses and its 2:18pm. At this point, its obvious this company does not want my business. I can only imagine if money was involved and this would have a been a several thousand dollar job. Erinn -

Although we knew All City Fence was pricier than other fencing companies, we hired them expecting that the craftmanship would be better. We were not disappointed. They built a cedar fence that looks custom made, including the arbor that was built to match a custom made arbor we had installed in a different part of our yard (at an earlier date by another carpenter). We especially appreciated how All City responded to our neighbor who upon seeing the work being done became concerned that the fence was not giving them as much privacy as they wanted. The All City carpenters came up with a solution that was aesthetically pleasing, simple/no extra cost, and satisfied the neighbor.

I reached out to All City Fence because I see their fences all over the city. While I had concerns that their fences were often falling apart, I thought they may offer competitive pricing since they do so much volume. In reality, their prices were outrageous at $50 per foot for a fence that was 3/4 chain link. Worst of all, I waited a week for them to get back to me with this quote. When I responded that I thought the price was high, the salesperson was rude and wouldn't work with me at all to make the project fit my budget. Total waste of my time.

I chose not to use All City Fence, which built the fence for my home's previous owner in 2005. The primary reason was that the price seemed far too high. The company did not give me a and quot;time and materialsand quot; bid but simply an all-in number to do the job, which the bid described as and quot;cut[ting] off 4-hinges and reweld[ing] new ball bearing [hinges], install 3-ind cane bolt, install 1-post cap, grease up all hinges on both gates, and adjust as necessary.and quot; The price? $1520 plus tax. When I told them the price was too high and that I had expected detail, I was told that the thee cane bolts were $122 each, so the hinges and the cap would be $1,153 plus tax. Heavy-duty hinges of the type they proposed can be found on-line for less than $5 each, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt and say they charge $10 each. That's $40 for the hinges. Add another $10 for the post cap, and we're at $50. That leaves $1,103 for labor. Even if it took an hour per hinge to cut off each hinge with a grinder, then weld a new one in place, that would be four hours, which would mean an hourly labor rate of $275. I could not accept that bid as reasonable for the work involved, so didn't have them do the work.
Description of Work: Gave me an estimate to remove four frozen hinges on larger fence gates and replace them, add a missing post cap, and install three cane bolts on the gates.

I'm remodeling a 1940's Ballard house and, of course, all of the sub-contractors have to and quot;check outand quot; my new fence, and they all come away saying it's a solid, well-constructed fence. The All City workmen were cheerful and hardworking, (even in the November rain.) Tom McDonald, the estimator, worked with me through several revisions to get the project - and the price - just right. One of the fence posts had a wiggle which they fixed promptly, no questions asked. I'm very pleased with the look and the quality of my new fencing and wouldn't hesitate to sign on with All City for my next project. They were terrific!

three (3 Overall I was pleased. One of the workers did a better job of communicating with me than the boss.
Description of Work: My problem with this provider was communication. I could not understand much of what the provider was saying. I also had a problem getting my point across about his price, the amount of time he would allow the concrete to set around the base of the post. I will evaluate the strength of the fence in three days (3). I like the way the workers clean up after themselves and punctionality of reporting. My summary Communication, setting up of materials and pricey.

I called All City Fence for an estimate on removing and replacing my 15+ year old privacy fence that was rotting and falling apart. Rick (the Estimator) came out on the day and hour agreed. He was courteous, helpful and answered all my questions. After the contract was signed, a schedule was set for the job to begin. On the appointed day, Steve (the Foreman) and Alex (his Associate) arrived at my house. Steve introduced himself, told me what the job entailed and how long it would take. Before he left each afternoon, Steve would contact me, let me know when they would be there the next day, showed me what they had done that day and asked if I had any questions. Steve and Alex were diligent, competent, professional workers and it was a pleasure dealing with them. When the job was finished they were thorough in cleaning up the work area. As far as cost is concerned, All City Fence is not cheap....but then again I don't mind paying a price for quality.

I called All City for an estimate. It took a week before they came out. This was the last of several estimates, so I can tell you that the price was WAY beyond every other, several hundred dollars more. Plus, I did not feel at all positive of my experience with the estimator. He came and went in a flash, did not make me feel like my business was all that important to them, and took days to get me a written estimate. Needless to say, I did not ues this company.

Overall things went well. Rick was prompt when he came out for the original bid and returned to answer questions for our neighbor. The installation was handled by two guys who did a lot of work in one day. They needed to return to fix my gate which was hung too low. That left holes where the original screws had been. The thing I wish was done differently was the scheduling of the work. I was left to hang with no firm date until a few days prior to install. The lag between accepted bid and install was about 3 weeks. I need to get back in touch with them as two boards on the gate are already beginning to split but I am optimistic they will be repaired per their 3 year warranty.
Description of Work: Tore down and replaced a section of fence and two gates. The price above is 1/2 the overall as this job was split between two neighbors.

They did a great job. The person whom they sent to do the measurements was very thorough. He took all the measurements and made sure the property boundaries were all in order and that was comforting. I like their efficiency in coming out. They said they would be here at 9 O'clock to start installing the fence and they were here at 9 O'clock sharp. They said it would take about 4 hours to do the initial post and concrete and that took about 3 hours and 45 minutes in total. They came about 3 days later and put the chain link and that took about an hour and half. In their efficiency of work they cleaned up everything and there was no mess left in the drive way. The job turned out great. The price was very competitive. We got about six bids on this and they were actually low end of that and for the quality of work they did I would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors.

I contacted All City Fence to replace a fence that was falling over at the house I bought in August. My wife made some changes with the contract and Rick made the changes, no problem. We set a date to have the fence in by March 15th but due to some delays it wasn't in until the 16th. That is the only reason I put a B in punctuality. I understand that every day doesn't go as planned so I had no issue with one day off of schedule. The only reason I needed the fence in as soon as I did was the old fence was literally falling into my neighbors yard and I had to use straps to keep it up and my dog in my yard. The workers were on time the day of the install and they removed and installed a 70+ foot fence in about 8 hours or less. I also got an estimate on some other areas that I would like to put a fence in and Rick came for the estimate. When he did he noticed some knots in some of the boards that were installed. Today a crew came out and replaced the boards. I didn't even notice any discrepancies but Rick stands behind his product and had the work done and I greatly appreciate that. I wish it could have been cheaper but I have put in a small fence before and know that this was a fair price for the work done and the quality of materials used. After we have paid for this work we will use All City Fence for the work that we got an estimate on. I highly recommend them to anyone. Rick is outstanding and the fence looks great. I catch myself just looking at it because it looks so good.

Like the previous poster, I called to scheduled a consultation with All City and was told I am outside of their service area, even though I, too, am in King County and live closer to Seattle than another municipality they do service. Our job, the fencing and gating of 5 acres, would have been of profit to All City, but they weren't interested. I routinely receive mailings and coupons from All City. It's ridiculous they won't service an area they advertise to. Stand by your advertising or make clear it does not pertain to all of King County.

Says right in the left side of their Angie's List page that they service King and Pierce counties. Well, I'm in King County and I was just told by the receptionist that I was just outside of their service area. I was confused. she told me that they can't be competitive out there. ??? I suggest you change your service area advertisement to reflect what you actually do.

The fence was supposed to be started with the posts set on Monday, Nov. 22nd, but that was the day the snow fell and the roads froze making it difficult to travel. The team called and said the start would be delayed because of weather and the Thanksgiving weekend. This was no problem with me...Rich e-mailed me the new start date on Sat, Nov. 27th. The fence posts were placed in about 1.5 hrs; the boards placed on Monday and the gate was built and placed on Wens. Overall, the experience was professional.
Description of Work: Rick Koch came out and listened to what I needed: a 6' high, 42" fence along the driveway and the removal of a 10' chain link gate at the entrance. The fence is a post-on-pipe (the wood posts don't sit in the concrete) cedar wood fence with wooden caps and the 8.5' cedar gate is framed and supported by a thick galvanized metal frame. Initially, I was leaning towards a black iron frame to match the iron rail on the balcony, but Rich suggested the steel frame which looks great and cut down on the cost.

We used them years and years ago to fence our backyard. The fellow that we used originally did excellent work and the fence lasted for 20 years. They are now under new ownership. We called them out because of our previous experience. They were very quick and responsive. The owner of the company came out and gave us a bid. He bought the business five years again. When they installed the fence, it was inferior wood and there were knots in it. The quality was awful. We called them back and they said they would take down any of the boards that we didn't like. They were very, very quick to do that. The lumber was so much more inferior than the first owner had. We never had any contact with the owner; it was just the workmen that were working with me. The owner never came to say what had happened. We were disappointed because it was such a good experience the first time around. The boards are shrinking and you can see the top of the picket fence design. One has chipped off and it has only been a year. They were responsive. It was overpriced. They did work with us.

Every part of the project couldn't have gone better. Tom McDonald, the estimator, quickly understood our needs and was very attentive and patient through many iterations of design. The crew came out on a Saturday to begin (per our agreement) and had about 50 posts in place in about 5 hours. It was amazingly quick. The rest of the work occurred over 3 to 4 days that week. The crew was clean, on time, fast, great quality. This was a great project and we really could not be any happier with Tom and crew.
Description of Work: All City built a new fence around our yard about 160 feet total. The fence style is cedar posts, top and bottom rails with a 4" by 4" wire mesh in the middle.
