Stewart Armour, owner of Aerating Thatching Co., has been providing top-tier lawn care to Seattle homeowners since 2004. With a passion for lush, healthy lawns, Stewart specializes in aerating, thatching, seeding, and fertilizing, offering services that rejuvenate and maintain vibrant green spaces throughout the year.
Stewart’s expertise in lawn aeration and thatching has earned him a reputation for excellence. Aeration helps alleviate soil compaction, allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach the grassroots, promoting a stronger, healthier lawn. Thatching, the process of removing a dense mat of roots and grass clippings, ensures that your turf can access the nutrients, water, and pest control products it needs to thrive.
Stewart is dedicated to the long-term sustainability of your lawn, offering spring and fall aeration, seeding, and fertilizing to maintain a lush, green yard year-round. With aerating and thatching performed regularly, lawns become more resilient to pests and disease while also benefiting from improved soil health.
What sets Stewart apart from competitors is his extensive educational background and practical training in turf management. Trained by a golf course superintendent, Stewart has refined his skills through years of specialized education. In 1981, he began his turf management journey with a course in Golf Course Construction and Design at Bellevue Community College, taught by Jerry Mackie. He later majored in turf management at South Seattle Community College in 1994 and continued his education at Clover Park Technical College under the guidance of local golf course superintendents. Stewart’s dedication to staying at the forefront of turf care is evident, with ongoing education at Wilbur-Ellis University, State Turf Facilities, Soil First Academy, and specialized Golf Course Applied Turf Grass Physiology Training.
