Aden Landscaping & Construction

After a short time, I got handed a hand written slip of paper that looked more like the bill you would receive after lunch in a diner more than what I would expect for a project estimated at over $10,000.00. Very few specifics as to materials, etc, were provided leaving me with little basis on which to make a decision. In the end I went with another company.

I filled in the online form, and a few days later, Alex called & scheduled a time to come out and bid for the project. Erik was on time, understood what we were asking for & prepared the bid immediately. I called a few days later with some questions about possible changes & was pleased to hear that "yes, we can do that." So we decided to hire them. A few days later, as scheduled, Alex and Erik both came out to see the site, re-measure & prepare a slightly altered estimate based on the changes we wanted. They made sure we understood that we should call or talk to them immediately if we had any questions or concerns about the work being done, saying it's easier to correct along the way instead of waiting until the end of the project. I was glad to be told that so specifically as we are first time home owners, and this is the first time we have hired this kind of work =) The next day, their crew came and started the work. At all times, everyone was pleasant to interact with. They got a lot done each day, and it was great to see such good progress. Alex and Erik had the idea along the way that grading and laying sod throughout the backyard would be a nicer-looking solution than what we had agreed on originally & told us the cost of this. Clearly, this was a better solution, so we decided to go for it. At one point, we had some questions about the fence being built & spoke with the builder. Alex called that evening to make an appointment for the next day to come out, see the bit we had questions about & explain to us why the crew had done it as they had. After hearing the explanation, it made perfect sense to us & we said they should continue - Alex and Erik checked back with us the next day to make sure we really were ok with the fence, and we again green-lighted them. I REALLY appreciate that they were so aware of our concerns & ready to make us happy with their work. The fence looks fantastic & I couldn't be more pleased with it. They gave us good, clear tips on what we need to do to help the sod take root & that we should call if we have concerns about it. They reiterated that we should stain the fence ASAP if we want it to continue to look so nice. That's on my "to do" list for later this week! We will hire Aden Landscaping again if/ when we have more projects, and I can easily recommend them to my friends and neighbors.

Alex was great in working through what the job would entail. I chose to modify the project and do it in stages but I think his company would have done a fine job, at a good price.

Aden Landscaping did an excellent job with converting our backyard to an amazing and beautiful extension of our house. Now exclusively we spend our time, and our friends who join us, in the backyard. Initially we looked at multiple companies to bid at our job. Alex and his colleague from Aden landscaping came over, measured the area, and gave an estimate within 10 minutes. This estimate was very reasonable for the work, and was lesser than some of the others. They not only understood our vision, but also gave some great suggestions (which were inexpensive) to enhance it. The best thing we liked was the attention to detail in the planning effort. They made sure that we were on board with the exact things being done in the process (including grade of slope etc.). This combination of professionalism, creative ideas, closing on features for predictability, pricing, ease of being able to communicate, and in addition the short time made us decide to go with Aden Landscaping. The work itself was magnificent - Alex and his crew first cleaned out the place, including taking the old fence, cleaning out the dirt and leveling the place etc. Through this process they took out all the things removed immediately, and left no junk around even at a daily basis. Followed by this they laid the montana argillite stone patio. They did a good job not only in the design of the layout/pattern (big and smaller stones), but also made sure that the colors were very complementary. They also ensured that the space between the stones is very minimal, which made it look amazing. Both our neighbors and we had noticed that there were times where Alex and his crew took very much time and care for the precision of cutting and laying even the smaller stones in the design pattern. This attention to detail is very evident in the end result of the patio. They also came up with a great suggestion of putting black rocks around the pathway and around the grass, as well as red mulch surrounding it. This combination of colors makes the place look very serene. We had selected a very particular and certain design for the fence around the house. Alex's crew made sure that we could look at multiple options of spacing between the boards for us to make a choice of both privacy and design. Following that they put up the fence very professionally in a single day. They also stained out garage and the fence. Even with laying out the sprinkler system, grass and the planting - they were pretty efficient and did a great job. The speed of the delivery of the project was also very efficient and fast for the amount of the effort. One of the other things through this whole effort was that they were very flexible to any of the changes and requests from us. They never pushed back through any of the changes required. Also when we added scope or additional things in the project, they priced them very reasonably. Alex is very efficient in getting back on both email and text, and the speed and ease of communication is very commendable. Many of the folks including our real estate agents and neighbors have asked for Aden Landscaping's contact. We personally recommend them to folks to work with. The real result of this work was also noticed when we got our house appraised recently, and we saw the value added by this backyard was much more than we spent on it. We are very thankful to work with Alex and Aden Landscaping, and hope to do so again in the future. Thanks...

The employees showed up on time, mowed the lawn and applied fertilizer. They were professional. I'm unsure if I would use them again as I had asked for an estimate on thatching and clean which seemed to be high.

We are very happy with the job Aden Landscaping did. In the beginning they were very responsive to our phone call. They came on time to the estimate and we didn't just got estimate, they also suggested many grate ideas on how work can be done to look nice, practical and save some money. The price was very reasonable. They started work on agreed time and showed everyday on time. It was very important for us since we had to leave house on time everyday. Alex and Eric are very hard workers. Work was done fast in a very good quality. They are very proffesional in the communication and in their work. These guys really know what they are doing. When they were done we couldn't believe how great our yard looked. We definitely would hire this company again and recommend to everybody who wants to have great looking yard for a very reasonable price.

Overall experience was good.

They came nearly an hour after the appointed time. They did not converse with me at all, just proceeded to cut my lawn. That was not the service I was seeking.

A few months ago I was in desperate need of finding a landscaper to help perform an entire remake on the backyard of my new home. Since I had no one in mind I decided to use Angies List where I found Aden Landscaping. I selected them based on their great reviews and the sample of their work on the website. After meeting with both Alex and Eric we soon began an excellent working relationship over the following weeks. My job was very extensive but they provided clear communication and attention to detail throughout the process. They selected trees, plants, paving stones and many other great choices for the project - and were open to my ideas and answered my many questions as well. Although they took a proactive approach, they still relied on my final judgement before any decision was made. Also, they were more than willing to correct anything I didn't like during the process. My ultimate happiness was always their main concern. If you are looking for a great landscaper for your project I can't recommend Aden Landscaping enough. In fact, I plan on using them in the future for any new projects, maintenance, as well as other needs I may have. Alex, Eric, and their team more than deserve the high ratings they have on Angies List!

Their price was significantly lower than other landscapers I had quote my project. But they lacked professionalism. They proposed weedwacking the weeds and blackberries rather than digging them out. I'm looking to spruce up my house to sell, and going this less expensive route seemed like a good cost effective way to go. They were not very responsive to my calls and emails clarifying the scope of work before deciding to schedule the work with them. When I did finally decide to schedule the work after 4 weeks they warned me that they might have to increase the price since 4 weeks had passed and the project may now be bigger . When they showed up to do the work they confirmed the price would be the same, but we disagreed on what had been said about trimming the neighbor's bushes that were growing over my fence. They had given me a written quote but it was so vague it did not address these kind of details. They offered that for an additional $100 they could go into the neighbor's yard (which the neighbor had already approved) and weedwack the bushes that were growing up and over my fence, BUT that they were not willing to haul the debri out of the neighbor's yard because that would be too time consuming. I agreed to that compromise and then spent a few hours of my own time hauling the debri into bins. Part of the scope of work was to spray some herbicide on the area where they removed the weeds in my yard. Since they were simply wacking the weeds at the surface, the herbicide would help slow the weeds from growing back. They didn't bring any with them. I thought they would. Maybe that was my fault. I happened to have a large container of RoundUp with a hose and sprayer so I gave that to them. When I came back to check on them it appeared they were skipping the step of applying RoundUp. They said the sprayer didn't work. I then showed them how to turn it on by lifting the spigot on the top of the bottle which the hose connects to. I thought that was a pretty elementary thing to not know. They applied bark to most of the area they were working on and then left to go get more bark. It appears the second batch of bark they used was a different color. Pretty unprofessional. I also noticed a chip in one of my windows in the living room. I didn't notice it until a few days after this work was performed, but I can't help but suspect that it was caused by their weedwacker flinging a rock at the window. Overall great pricing, but poor service.

They offered yard services and advice, but it seemed as if they didn’t want to be there. They were here for less than an hour and it was 60 bucks. I think they looked down on us because we are in a starter neighborhood. They didn’t do that great of a job. They were careless with what they did to our lawn. They were not very professional. It was one of the only Angie's List experiences that left me dissatisfied.

Alex was prompt and gave an estimate on the spot. He provided a written bid.

They were fast and professional. I''d use them again.

AdenLandscaping did an excellent job. They came on time for an estimate and spent as much time as I needed to discuss what needs to be done. They did advise me with great ideas on how to make my yard look nicer, safe money and be practical. AdenLandscaping crew were very professional and very nice to work with. The job was done as scheduled and we were very satisfied with our new fence and flag stone patio.

I spoke to three landscapers to get quotes. Aden was most responsive and was reasonably priced. Alex walked through my yard to discuss options and provide a quote. He quoted a price and a date to do the work. He showed up on time and did a great job. He was respectful, honest and did great work. The yard looks great. I've worked with several landscapers on the Eastside. Alex and Aden were great.

I was interested in Aden landscaping for landscaping my small yard behind my town house. I called and left a message last week explaining the job and my call was not returned. I called back today and the the gentleman that I spoke to was not interested in speaking to me. They have an excellent portfolio but their customer service is very poor and from my experience they are not interested in small jobs.

The guys were able to come out the same day that I called them to give me an estimate, and were able to do the work within a few days. The fence looks great, and seems to be built well. Everyone that I dealt with was friendly and easy to work with.

I have had a very good experience with Aden Landscaping. Based on their high rating on Angie's List, I decided to go with them. I called and got a response right away and within the few days they start our project. They did a wonderful job and I will use them in the future.

I purchased a spring clean up special for my relatively small lawn. It was a little difficult scheduling the service, and when they did show up they spent less than 15 minutes cutting my lawn and throwing some seed down. They left in their truck without even talking with me. They didn't do part of my lawn and the part they did do was cut so high that within three days it was already looking bad. I had to recut in myself to make it look better. I know they were probably swamped with the Angie's List deal, but I felt like this was not worth the money I spent on the deal.

We contaced Aden's Lanscaping based upon the reviews here on Angie's List for an estimate on landscaping/hardscaping work we needed done following a renovation/addition (front and back yard). While Alex was quick to respond and setup a date/time for them to come and do the estimate the day/time came and went without any follow-up. I guess they didn't want the work. Disappointing since the reviews were positive. They basically wasted both myself and my husband's time waiting for them to show up which they never did (we waited all morning for a 9am appointment).

Alex and Eric were excellent to work with. They did a wonderful job. I think their price was fair and they were very punctual as well. They were very responsive and gave us many great ideas. I will definitely use them again in the future.

AdenLandscaping crew did a marvelous job installing paver patio in our yard. They were very professional: always on time, communicated vey well and new their job well. Job was done in time frame we expected, there were no delays and no changes in the price we were first given. They even saved us some money by giving us couple suggestions on the material and over all design. We were planning this project for a long time and we were very excited to have paver patio done. Our yard looks great, even better then we expected and now we are enjoying it and looking forward to spend many summer days in our new yard. Thank you AdenLandscaping.
