They were delightful to work with from the get-go. They were enthusiastic, they showed up when they were supposed to, they were very careful, and they were experts in their field.

The crew arrived a few minutes later than the agreed time, but more than made up for that with their competence and efficiency. They had a number of challenges to deal with, including a difficult access to the starting location, and a steep uphill access to the new house. But they had the whole job done within 20-30 minutes, including driving time.

I filled out the estimate form on the company's website. Within a few hours, I received an email from Bret, the general manager, explaining the rates and a quote for my piano move. We scheduled a date and time. The movers were punctual, efficient, professional and very friendly. No problems whatsoever.

Fine...no problems whatsoever. In and out quickly so we could get on with our day. Rates and time estimate were given before the job: Rates are set by state regulations. Charges are based on time from leaving shop to return or start of next job. Their time estimate was excellent.
Description of Work: Picked up piano at my brother's house and transported it to mine, right to the spot I wanted it. The piano was padded and protected for the trip. Truck had to navigate long steep driveway at both houses.

I called to make an appointment for the move. They offered to combine my move with others in the area to save me money. They called an hour or so before they arrived to confirm their arrival time, which was on-time. They were professional, careful and friendly. I would definitely use them again.

I called on Friday to get an estimate and time frame on when I could expect to have someone come to move the piano. There was an opening the following day and the guys came and moved the piano. No problems at all. They were delayed a little bit by traffic but not enough to reschedule. The two men were efficient and professional and I would use them again for any kind of furniture moving.

They arrived right on time, had the piano ready to move in less than 20 minutes. They were very careful, considerate of my questions, and brought to my attention that a piece was missing that is used stabilize one of the piano legs. They moved the piano up a steep driveway and nine stairs. Not one scratch to the walls, the hardwood floors or even the piano itself. One of the movers even took the time to come up with a quick fix to stabilize the piano leg until I could have a replacement block made to properly stabilize the leg.
Description of Work: I hired A-1 Piano to move a 1911 baby grand from and Antique store into my home. Their bid came in over $200.00 less than one quote I received and that was only to move the piano into my garage and not the house.

They did exactly what they have proposed and quoted. I was a little late to the place where we want to get a piano. When I arrived, they were already packing the piano and almost ready to go. They did the job safely with all the paddings and with caution. Charge is based on hourly from the shop to the shop back. (not the origin to destination) But the quote was exact. There are extra charge for stairs (if more than ? flights) but I didn't have any. Movers were available in evenings during weekdays and all day on Saturdays. No extra for Saturdays.

When I called to schedule the piano movers, the scheduler was very friendly and accommodating. We set a time that was convenient for me and my buyer. The movers showed up at the scheduled time and within 30 minutes had moved the piano down the stairs and into their truck. The movers were excellent. They took great care of the piano and the walls. Removing the piano was not an easy task, but they had obviously had a lot of experience and knew exactly what they were doing. It took three men to move the piano. They were willing to lay padding on the carpet to protect it, but since we are replacing the carpet, we told them it was not necessary.

My instrument is might lighter then a normal piano, but too heavy and large for one person to move. I contacted A-1 based on their Angie's List recommendation. They scheduled the move for the same week, arrived about 30 minutes late, and took the same care with my light Clavinova they would take with a Yamaha Concert Grande. It was a big production and they did a good job.

Very well. They were available on short notice (less than a week), and when I arrived at the site where the piano was to be picked up found they had arrived 15 minutes early and already had the piano packed away. Within an hour they had already left my house with their check and we were playing on the piano already. Great!

This last move, just as in the past, was executed perfectly. This company is professional, punctual, call to confirm appointments, and work quickly. They protect the pianos with plenty of padding; we have never had a scratch! Given that this was a long commute up I-5, they still made the move start to finish in about 3 hours, and with 3 guys, the price was very reasonable. Moves within the city cost considerably less. This company also provides tuning service and rentals. I simply cannot recommend this company any higher in all categories.
Description of Work: These guys are the best! A-1 has moved piano's for me now for over 20 years starting with an old Hudson upright; we relocated the piano about six times during this period, and every time it went without a hitch. This time we needed to bring a 1940's Baldwin baby grand from Arlington WA to our home in West Seattle. This is about 130 miles round trip not including travel time to and from their shop. We had a steep driveway to contend with and stairs. As usual, Al and Mike made it look like a piece of cake.

The crew picked up the piano on time and called to let me know they could pick it up sooner than scheduled. They arrived at my house 2 hours after starting the job. Their fee is based on RT time from their office and back. I chose to do the job on a Saturday (which is slightly more expensive) thinking the job would go quicker. The cost was $90 over their budgeted time, but I got a story about their ''speeding ticket'' for no extra charge. When they got to my house, their ramp slightly damaged my porch, and their moving a couch scratched my hardwood floor.

Very professional and detail-oriented. Took great care to protect my other furniture and hard wood floors. Pointed out blemishes on finish and made notes for whoever will assemble piano about its little quirks (two screws stripped out, etc.). Obviously very experienced one man told me they move 6-10 pianos a day). On time and came in at low end of estimate. Very reasonably priced. Actually had three men working (one seemed to be in training), but only charged me for two. I would definitely hire this company again and recommend them to friends.

The movers arrived when expected and were courteous and careful. The company charges from the time the truck leaves the facilities to the time it returns. This wasn't explained fully, and the cost ended up being slightly higher than what was quoted on the phone. Overall, however, the experience was positive.
