It was very nice. I was very pleased. I like that you don't realize that the blinds are there. They were nice when coming to do the measurements, putting them up, and the clean up. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They put in 2 folding blinds downstairs in two rooms. When they are closed you don't realize that they there. When they are open it acts as an insulator. They had to cut some of the blinds to fit around the molding. They easily go up and down. One went over the window that is the width of the room and the other went over the sliding glass door.

It was great. The appointment was easy to set up. The salesperson was well prepared and had clear ideas to show me and clear recommendations. We were able to get to a solution that was delivered quickly. The price was competitive. The installation went well. He showed up 15 minutes of his time. He installed the blinds quickly. It exceeded my expectations.

3 Day Blinds did a very good job for us. The blinds selected work well and provide good heat insulation and room darkening. The installation was performed quickly, efficiently and on schedule. The pricing was reasonable. We were sufficiently impressed that we later had Leah Milton measure our upstairs bedrooms for new blinds. Again we were pleased with the product and the way everything was handled.
Description of Work: Leah Milton was the design consultant who came to our home and helped us select insulating blinds for our large basement windows. She was very helpful and then arranged for the installation of the blinds a couple of weeks later.

This was, bar none, the worst customer service experience I've had in years. I really wish I'd checked Angie's List before hiring them; it would have saved me five months (so far) of hassle. The measuring process wasn't exactly smooth. We ended up with two blinds about a foot shorter than they should have been, and easily could have been, due to a measurer error. It looks stupid, but they won't correct it. The measurer also told me that the drapes would be built with high-quality metal hardware and cotton cords; instead, the works were all cheap white plastic, and the cords a thin nylon -- exactly what I'd hoped to avoid when I asked her that question. The blinds arrived over a month late. Only four of the seven were in the order; we had to wait another month for them to find the three lost ones. One had the wrong length pull cord on it, which needed replacement; this took another three weeks. Another had the gears break within six weeks of installation: it was a big, heavy floor to ceiling shade with cheap plastic works that weren't up to the weight. The installer took the shade for repair yesterday; I have no idea when or if I'll see it again. The people scheduling the installations have no idea where their installers are. I've gotten a constant stream of e-mails from them trying to book appointments that their independent installer, Pete, had already come and gone on. (Pete is the one bright spot in this whole story.) Yesterday, I got a stern e-mail from their accounting office demanding immediate payment of the outstanding 50% owed because and quot;their installers couldn't reach meand quot; for over a month. Funny: Pete was here yesterday, for the second time this month... I also told them that they're not getting paid until I have all seven blinds installed, intact, and working -- something that has not happened at any time yet. I placed this order in early March. It's now almost August, and we're still at it. I'm very tempted to have them come remove the shades and refund my deposit, so I can start over with a professional company. Seriously: Flee screaming. Do not do business with these people. There are better locally-owned businesses in Seattle that have been around a long time, and are more deserving of your trade.
Description of Work: Built and installed seven roman shades. I'd intended for them to do the whole house (another 21 matching shades) at a future date, but will not be following through on that.

The in home consultation went great, we had a lot of options to choose from and the consultant was very helpful selecting styles/types. It was the install, by Rayline Installations, and actually getting the correct blinds/shades from 3DB that was the problem. When the first installation date came, he arrived on time but some of the items were the wrong style, some were not included at all. All the items should have been double checked with our order before they left the distribution center. The second install date, some of the correct blinds/shades were still missing, had to reorder yet a second time. When installing some of the roller shade chain brackets to the window casings, they were not lined up and several inches off from each other (vertically). This looked horrible. At one location we have two shades at a wall corner, the brackets were literally right next to each other with one about 4 inches higher than the other. With disbelief I asked the installer why they were not lined up at the same height - he said he would move them to align, but now the one chain would be too short, so he'd have to come back with a new one. Wow. The third visit, several weeks later, everything was finally installed. Some of the brackets are still off a bit, but we just wanted them out of the house. The thing we were most displeased with is that no one from 3DB called during this time or after to make sure the work was complete to our satisfaction. We always had to call for updates/status on getting the right items. We will not use this company again, be careful if you choose to do so. Also, do not make full payment up front as we did, put down a modest deposit and demand the balance be paid upon completion.
Description of Work: Installed honeycomb and roller shades in den, kitchen, laundry room, and dining room. We had planned on getting custom drapes in the formal living room until we got the estimate (over $6000 for 3 windows).

What went well: The consultation appointment and original installation occurred at the time agreed upon. The person who arrived to install the drapes was pleasant and professional. What did not go well: The original consultation was on 10-18-2012. It took a couple of phone calls to secure an installation appointment. When the installer arrived, he was not given a center bracket, so the drapes sag terribly. He assured us that he would make sure the bracket would be ordered promptly. It was; however, no one notified me. I called a few times and sent an e-mail. Finally, made an appointment on 12-6-2012, but no one showed. Then I sent another e-mail and made more phone calls. It is now Jan 19, 2012 and we still have sagging drapes. Today, I spoke with a representative of 3 Day Blinds on the phone and said I would prefer they take their drapes and hardware back and refund my money. Instead he assured me that they would follow through with an appointment and compensate my frustration. I am skeptical. It has already been over 3 months since starting this process. I thought I would save time by hiring professionals, but with all the e-mails and phone calls I've made I would have saved time and money doing it myself. My husband said he like the drapes I installed last time better than 3 Day Blinds and quot;professionaland quot; work.

The small store didn't seem setup for retail. They had plenty of catalogs, but had an installer prepping on the floor for an installation and a small selection of blinds on the walls. After someone helped by showing me catalogs, I chose horizontal sheer blinds. The person helping me really wasn't very helpful (or friendly) and didn't know about how the blinds installed or details about all the options available. After providing my measurements, I was shocked at the cost ($1,900). These were not huge windows and we needed only three blinds. They also needed around 14 business days to deliver. What is the company name again?! I ended up purchasing the same blinds (probably a different manufacturer, but I can't tell a difference) from Home Depot for $1,200 including tax and delivery. The blinds arrived within a week after I ordered them and they installed in minutes with no problems.

When we purchased our home in 2006, all the huge windows had the "honeycomb" blinds. Our first experience fixing them was a string breaking and I called a few places I found on the internet. One that sounded O.K. seemed expensive ($50. for each string) but I had no point of reference and was just relieved we didn't have to purchase a new covering for our large window. Luckily, before taking it in to this place, it occured to me to try to find the brand name on the blinds themselves and that's when I discovered 3 Day Blinds. They replaced both strings (although only one was broken) for $35.00. They said "might as well get two new ones, as long as we're in there!" They were really nice, professional, and finished the job days before promised.
Description of Work: Our 36"x72" honeycomb blind has a string on each side - one for raising & lowering the top and one for the bottom. One of the strings broke and 3 Day Blinds replaced both sides with new strings. We asked for one to be fixed, but were told they would do them both for the same price - a price less than half of what we had found at another shop.

My husband and I stopped into their showroom and made an appointment for an on-site consultation and estimate for the installation of window treatments. The design consultant who came to our house brought old, dirty samples and tried to talk us into products that we didn't want or need. The worst part is that she wreaked of cigarette smoke, which lingered in our house for several hours after she left. While the estimate seemed fair, we didn't feel comfortable working with this company based on our in-home visit.

The company name is misleading. It gives the impression that your blinds are shipped and ready for install in 3 days. The name actually reflects the time it takes for the blinds to be manufactured. So with shipping, they arrive 5-7 days after ordering. In my case, I had to wait 35 days, from order date to installation (wood blinds had to be special ordered). To be fair, the other blinds did arrive on time. Also, the store did call a few times, saying that they had not forgotten about my order. The installation of the blinds was fine, but the earliest appt I could get was 11 business days after the wood blinds arrived. I was told they didn't do installs on Saturday, which surprised me since the blinds in my condo were installed on a Sat. The installer arrived on time and worked efficiently. He took the empty boxes with him, but said that he couldn't take the old blinds. When I had the blinds installed at my condo, the installers DID take away the old blinds.
Description of Work: Order and installation of blinds for bedrooms (3), living room, family room, and sliding glass door Total of 6 sets of blinds were ordered. I used 3 Day Blinds 2 yrs. ago when I purchased blinds for my condo. I was happy with the results and wanted to order from them again for my new home. In late January, I had a consultant come over to measure windows and describe what options were available. This part went fine & I ordered 2" PVC blinds for all bdrm, Viewpoint 2" wood blinds for living room and family room, & vertical blinds for the sliding glass door. Total price included shipping and installation. Overall the service was satisfactory this time around. My previous experience with 3 Day Blinds was stellar.

The process was simple and went smoothly. It helped that we have ordered similar shades from this company in the past, so I had experience measuring and installing the blinds myself. It only took about 10 minutes to place the order at the store since we knew what we wanted. The blinds arrived on time and were exactly what we had ordered. We're very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: We ordered blackout shades for 5 windows, each with the cordless option (shades are raised and lowered with a small handle at the bottom of the shade). We placed the order at the store after measuring ourselves at home.

The initial visit went well when we got the estimate, the selection of colors and options could have been better, and we actually didn't purchase some additional blinds because the fabric selection was poor for roman shades. We were told it would take two weeks for the blinds to be delivered, it was bit longer than that, perhaps 3 weeks, but not too bad. The installation was a problem. We had ordered the blinds to be installed at the bottom of the window well for the skylight, but instead they were installed right next to the skylight, so it didn't provide the seamless look we had ordered. My wife pointed this out to the installer, but he said he couldn't install them the way we had ordered them (and how they had been measured). Additionally the way they were installed was crooked and backwards. They had a new installer fix the problem 2 weeks later, but it was a big hassle and waste of time, and we still have screw holes from the first installation to fix ourselves.

I WENT TO THE STORE ORIGINALLY TO ORDER A FEW MORE SLATS FOR A BLIND WE NEEDED TO CHANGE AFTER WE REMODELED THE DOOR.
