Description of Work: I'm representing a buyer of a home which had some foundation/crawlspace work done but a "budget" contractor. I wanted an inspection from a different foundation/crawlspace contractor to determine if the work performed was sufficient or needed additional remedial work done. Matvey said they wouldn't look at it unless they were to do the work....how can I assure them work without them looking at it first? Not customer centric obviously-which doesn't earn my trust.

Description of Work: They completed the work. They put the grass back over the holes and even washed my driveway. When they were under the house getting ready for the lift, they found a leaky pipe and let me know so I could call the plumber. They were all very nice. They only thing was i did not remember being told that the whole procedure would take 4 days. I can see why it took that many days for the work to be completed. They explained what they were going to do so I was completely comfortable with the procedure. I would recommend them. We will use them for some additional work we have planned.

Description of Work: Structural engineer came by for an evaluation and told me what I knew in that my house is slanted and needs some foundation work. The work I need is more extensive than Matvey currently does, they are all about a push pier system, which didn't fit my situation. Gave some good info and sent me a report on it.

Description of Work: The engineer they sent out was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He did a complete walk through of my home and my yard. He followed up timely and wrote up a very detailed report. His suggestions were very helpful and he didn't try to "sell me" on additional expenses or services. He was also pleasant to work with.

Description of Work: Paid $49 for a Foundation & Elevation Inspection, Preventive Water Leakage Plan and $500 Credit Angie's List deal. They came out and did the inspection without any issue (except forgetting to bring a flashlight). Despite finding some cracks, no repair was offered or done. Recommended that I put a sealant on the cracks and monitor them to see if they get bigger. Inspector said he would bring out strips to put on the cracks to keeps tabs on them but the measuring strips never arrived. Overall the service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, I felt like my inspection was an inconvenience for the inspector.

 + -1 moreNightmare. Mat Cote' is simply not trustworthy. He abandoned our job, saying he was broke and out of business. Now I see that he's still operating. He did not finish the work, leaving us with about half of the job to do after we paid him 75% of the money, plus excessive change orders. The framer was skilled, but most other work performed by Matvey is questionable. Several items failed inspection. He used an unlicensed electrician who screwed up and tried to hide dangerous wires in a ceiling. We were lied to all along and overcharged in change orders on several occasions. Dust control and prevention of damage to our house was poor, so we have to make repairs. They put holes in our new roof to hold scaffolding and then failed to patch them, leaving leaks. All that I say here is well documented. Believe me, you do not want to trust Mat Cote' with your job.
