I hired Big Al's to move my furniture from one part of my house to another as I was having my floors refinished. Al came over and estimated that the move would take 3 to 5 hours. I called to schedule an appointment with Beth. The only day they had available was a Saturday. I was informed that they had a 4-hour minimum on Saturdays. At $167.70 per hour for 3 movers plus other "fees," the charge would be $823.97. Beth told me she could waive the 4-hour minimum, stating that she knew they would make the time up moving my furniture back after my floors were finished. I paid a $400 deposit ($200 for moving out and then back in another day). I thanked her and awaited the move. The movers showed up on time and were professional. They did a great job. When they presented me with the bill, it was $623.97 in addition to the $400 I already paid. I informed the driver that I was told the 4-hour minimum was to be waived, but he didn't know anything about it, so I paid the full invoice assuming that it would be corrected on the move back into the house. And by the way, the move took 1 hour. I called and spoke to Stacy to ask about the incorrect billing, she told me that I had to pay the 4-hour minimum. I objected. She had Al, the owner, call me. I told him what had happened, and he said that they never waive the minimum. I asked him to put Beth on the line with us, but he refused. I stated that my expectations were that they come move my furniture back, and if it took longer than 3 hours, I would pay the balance, but if it were 3 hours or less, I would consider us to be even. Al told me no. Any further work would incur additional charges. They have refunded $200 of the $400 deposit back ($200 deposit for each day) I was charged $823.97 for 3 men’s labor for one hour. I have since cancelled using them on the move back into the house. It was my mistake to trust them without getting it in writing. It's sad that a local company can't back up what a long-time representative of the company tells a client. I cannot in good conscience recommend Big Al's Specialty Movers at all. Yes, the movers are great, but their honesty falls short. Very short.

Showed up on time. Packed everything really well. They handled our possessions very carefully. Experience and very quick about it.

Big Al and his boys showed up right onetime as expected, packed up the piano, plotted their path to the garage, and moved it quickly and safely. Other firms want you to take the legs off and put the piano on its side. What? Are you kidding? That's what Big Al does for you. If you want your piano moved, call Big Al.

The Big Al's crew was excellent! I don't think they bumped a wall in the entire move, including moving some large furniture around some very tight corners. TONS of stairs without complaint, everything arrived in the same condition as when it left the house and arrived at the new one. I would recommend Big Al's without any hesitation.

Big Al's was great. The crew was courteous and hard working. They were able to move everything with time to spare. Nothing was damaged in the move. The final price was about half of the initial estimate - we were pretty successful in our downsizing efforts before the move.

They are great. I used them like to move here. They are close to me in terms of distance. Their quality was extreme. I called them recently because I was going to have some furniture moved. It was really a reasonable price. I have owned seven houses; this was really -- they were the best of all of my moves. The quality was absolutely at the highest quality. They were early; they were, like, ready to go right away. When I needed the furniture moved from the furniture store I called them first.

Awesome. Sam, Kalani and Damian were early, took great care of our belongings and treated us well. I hope I never move again but if I do, I would use Big Al's.

They know how to be careful. They moved my baby grand piano and antiques. They have a set crew and retain their employees.

Great! Worst snow and ice storm in 50years forced rescheduling, thanks for your help Beth! Even waiting for better weather the crew had to chain-up to get to our house but were still on time. The piano was down a flight of stairs with a tricky doorway but these guys know what they're doing and made it look so easy!

All went better than expected. The three man crew arrived promptly. The movers were professional and efficient, occasionally asking questions. Complete load, transport and move-in less than 4 hours.

Consummate professionals, from their demeanor to their obvious display of skill in handling the grand piano. Packed our entire house (and labelled the boxes) immaculately.

These guys were amazing. They did a thorough assessment of the pieces, planned how they would move them and then loaded them carefully into their truck with lots of padding. At my new house they carried the pieces up a flight of stairs that included a landing and 90 degree turn. They made it look easy and I know it wasn't.

I thought they did a wonderful job. They came out really fast when I called them. It just looks like brute force to me. It was three big guys who had to move something from upstairs down a curvy stairway. It was not easy.

They moved a grand piano from my home to a condo. Very professional and courteous. Will use their services again!

My wife is in the music business and needed special attention for her precious old piano when we moved. After nearly unanimous recommendations from fellow musicians we called Big Al. We learned at that time his company can move anything! We had them move our household and they were very good. We had a couple of delays during moving and Big Al's accommodated our needs at minimum additional expense. The movers were nice guys and made the experience fun with there humor and patience as we had them move things back and forth through the house before deciding on the right spot for things to go. They came in under budget even with our timing glitches. I recommend Big Al's for all your moving needs.

They were big people - strong and careful. They showed up when they were supposed to and did a good job.

The 3 man crew was great - on time, careful, hard working and pleasant. They were very helpful to make it easy for me. However, when the empty truck pulled away from my home, it snagged the phone line and ripped them off the house, splitting the wood on the eave. It took 2 weeks for the owner to come out to see it and then he flat out refused to repair anything, saying the phone company was responsible for the damage because the line was low. He offered to pay for the wood, but not the repair.

Well...as stressful as moving can be...Big Al's crew made this one as pleasant as it could be. Ivan, Eric, and Tusi were fantastic. They arrived at the scheduled time and got right to work. And as efficiently as they worked, they took great care with our possessions and were always respectful. They worked as a team so well and were just so congenial. We were not expecting these 3 huge Samoan young men to show up, but watching them work together was so much fun (one does not usually equate and quot;movingand quot; with and quot;having any funand quot;). They were all so strong that nothing (not even some rather heavy objects that we had to move) seemed to faze them. Needless to say, we were extremely satisfied with the service provided and the fact that we were able to find a local service provider just made it that much more satisfying. We highly recommend Big Al's Specialty Moving Services for any move that you may have.

This item was heavy and bulky and required 4 men to move, it made it down a steep stairwell with tight turns and near 0and quot; clearances and no damage to the woodwork, flooring or railings. Amazing work. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
