Left message on Saturday (they are closed weekends of course). They called Monday morning and said what would likely need to be done. gave an estimate, and said they'd call back that afternoon to schedule a time for Tuesday. They called back early afternoon and arranged 4 hour window for repair (10AM - 2PM). Arrived at 11:30 AM Tuesday, completed work by 1:00.P Did additional inspection as part of the repairs and included the results on invoice. Work was done well, at the price quoted, with good communication and they did what they said they'd do throughout. No up-sell. Price was lower than friends that had similar work with other companies, and less costly than I expected. I'm glad to see some companies still know how to provide customer service!

Our interactions with the office and the service guys from Richardson's were wonderful. The office staff we spoke to were efficient and knowledgeable. The service staff diagnosed and fixed the problems quickly and efficiently. They were polite, knowledgeable, easy to speak with, and answered all our questions. We will use Richardson's in the future and will recommend them to all our friends. Kudos for a job well done.

challenging installation, but they did it as contracted for except, I said I wanted internet controllable door and I had to complain over a couple of months to get it and even then I had to buy the controller that resides at the router. It works.

I was robbed by a service provider that had the code to the garage door opener, and the code could not be changed. Suffice it to say I was in a panic and called Richardsons - they were at my home in 3 days to replace the old system and put in a new Liftmaster system with a programmable pad (so the pin can be changed over and over again). They were extremely empathetic and helpful, and expedited the service for me without any additional charges. The installer was very helpful in answering my questions about the new system and showed me how to program the pad and generally use the system. I would immediately go to Richardsons in the future and will recommend them to friends, family, and coworkers without hesitation.

The installer was very professional. He arrived on-time and got right to work. Did a very thorough job servicing our existing door which was functional, as well as replacing the opener on the second door which was non-functional. Additionally, he gave me a lot of information about maintaining our doors and was happy to answer all my questions. I could not be happier with the installer and would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone. The price came out higher than one of the other installers I called for an estimate, but I am confident I got what I paid for.

Due to a recent wind storm in our area Richard Garage Door was very busy, but they got to us the very next day and in a couple of hours we had a new garage door opener. We did experience a problem with operation, but they sent out a wonderful young man who immediately found the problem (a crossed wire). |

I was having problems with my garage door opener; sometimes it would open all the way, sometimes part way. and sometimes not at all. I called the company to schedule an inspection and found out it would be a couple of days wait; I work until noon and because I couldn't make a morning appointment (apparently the only time the guy was in my neighborhood), they just couldn't make it until later in the week (I live less than 15 minutes from their place of business, so it's not like I'm in the boonies or something). The guy showed up (late), cleaned and oiled my opener and told me I needed a new circuit board, it would take a few days to get it. They called me the next week, again BIG problem making it to my neighborhood after noon, made an appointment for later in the week, I see him drive up and I'm waiting for him to knock on the door and I look outside, he's gone. A little while later their office calls me and says the and quot;companyand quot; sent them the wrong one, they would have to reorder. Keep in mind all this time I am struggling with my garage door and it has been a week. They call a few days later, AGAIN with the noon thing (maybe they only have one guy working for them and he's part-time?) makes an appointment for a few days later, then calls the day of the appointment and can't make it, reschedules for two days later, finally shows up and literally takes 5 minutes to install the circuit board, including getting the ladder on and off the truck. While the guy is here he let's it slip that someone ordered the wrong part (after telling me on the phone they sent the wrong part), he didn't want to tell me because he was afraid I would be mad so he just left without even knocking on the door. By this time it has been two weeks since the initial inspection. I offer to pay him and he says they will send me a bill and leaves. We leave for vacation and return to find a message on our phone requesting a credit card to bill, if they have to mail an invoice there will be a fee, WHO DOES THIS?? The good part is our garage door works fine, bad part is they charged $140 for a $60 circuit board (my bad for not checking) and $70 for service and install. Obviously I was less than happy with their service and would never use them again.
Description of Work: They came to my home, inspected and cleaned my garage door opener, then ordered and installed a new circuit board.

One of our garage doors was getting rickety to the point where we stopped using the door, thinking it could fall at any moment. I called Richardson expecting to hear that I'd need to buy a new door. When I spoke with Matt and explained our situation, he assured me that it was unlikely that I'd need a new door and recommended we have his tech come out and perform their 10-point inspection. He was fairly confident that they could fix the one door AND check out the other garage door as well as move both sets of sensors. And all of that would be covered in the cost of inspection with the exception of any parts. He was upfront saying that if the service call went over the normal 30-45 min, they could charge $65/hr but his tech would be sure to inform us if he thought the star time would be needed. They were able to come when it was convenient to my schedule providing only a 30 min window, they called the day before to confirm the appointment, and Chris showed up right on time. Chris was professional, friendly, and got right to work. I had to leave but my father in law, who is a handyman for a good chunk of his adult life, stayed and was so floored how well the work was done and how little was charged. When I came home, I was so impressed with how smooth the door rolled up and down. My only criticism is I wish Chris had introduced himself when he arrived but ill take a quiet, hard worker with great service an day of the week. I would not hesitate to call Richardson Garage Door if I ever run into any other issues and I'll certainly be recommending them to all of my friends in the Tri-Cities. On a side note, this was the first vendor I looked up on Angie's List. No one I knew had a referral so I finally decided to join Angie's List to see what I could find. It was so easy to find and choose a garage door company based on the reviews and I was elated to have received the fantastic service I was hoping for. This membership has already proved to be worth it!!!

They replaced the garage door spring in a professional manner, unfortunately the capasitor went out while he was here. He diagnosed the problem and quickly called up his office and made arrangements for a new one. Since our door was out of commission for another few days until the part came in, he promptly placed a lock on the door for us. When the part came in, they sent another nice fellow out, not charging us for a second and quot;call outand quot; fee. They were very quick and efficient under the circumstances.

We currently have a 1/2 HP garage door opener that is slowly dying. I decided to change to a 3/4 HP opener for the new opener. I also learned that there are a lot of new options available for new openers. I decided to look for an opener with a battery backup which would allow the opener to operate in the case of a power outage. When I called Richardson Garage Door Co., they stated they did not have a 3/4 HP opener. They did have a 1/2 HP opener with a battery backup. However, that is not what I wanted. They did state they could install an opener that was purchased elsewhere. In another week or so, I will purchase the opener I want through Amazon.com and will have Richardson do the installation.

Chris arrived on schedule...same day service. I thought a spring was broken but Chris knew right away, just by listening to it, that the gears were stripped. He did not have a gear unit on the truck. He said he would go get one and be back in 10 minutes....in 10 minutes he was back with the gear box. He replaced the gears and put the unit back together...he knew exactly what he was doing! He also gave me some pointers on proper care of the opener. Chris took some pictures of the garage door as I am also considering adding windows to the door. He said the office would get back to me with prices. Chris was very professional and personable. Good job, thank you Chris.

The workman was friendly and ready to answer my questions. I liked being given choices, but not pushed toward which one to take.I also was impressed with how carefully he picked up staples and plastic that has covered the new door opener.
Description of Work: My garage door was not going down mechanically. The workman arrived early, solved the problem and gave me 2 options. He didn't try to talk me into buying a new door opener, but told me my choices. I chose to buy one. He installed it quickly and cleaned up .I had been quoted a price $150.00 last year, but decided to wait. I am glad that I did.
