NEVER EVER use this company. Owner, Steve, is impossible to reach and his word is meaningless. Took the threat of a lawsuit and complaints to the BBB to get him to respond. The grout in our entire home had to be replaced - they mixed it wrong the first time around. Second time still had errors, but getting them to come take a look let alone repair became such a hassle I gave up. They installed broken tiles, too. Workers repeatedly no-showed, or arrived 3-4 hours after scheduled arrival time. Would show up after 11, take at least an hour for lunch, then would be gone by 4pm. Poor craftmanship, lazy installers. I had to call and complain one day because one of the tile guys was sitting in the bathroom he was supposed to be tiling and was instead talking on the phone to his girlfriend (calling her baby, etc.) bragging about how he was getting $14/hr to sit around and milk it. He also mentioned that he'd never done tile work before, but it seemed easy enough and he got paid either way. It may be just a job to him, but it's my home he's in. I work hard to pay the mortgage and provide this for my family; Color Tile didn't seem to mind they were doing a crap job. I lost days upon days of work staying home to let them in and monitor. They used 2 different colors of silicone to grout around a single toilet. The worker told me he ran out of white and using clear wouldn't be that noticeable. Unacceptable. Tiles were missing from the backsplash in the master bathroom - their solution was to fill the void with grout. Unacceptable. Color Tile was contracted through the builder in our development to do the tile work in all the new construction homes. My complaints are not unique. I have spoken with 4 other neighbors who have also have poor tile work and shoddy repairs done to fix it. My daughter lives across the street, building nearly the same time as me. She also had to threaten a law suit to get Steve to respond to her. They grouted in her soaker tub with 2 different colors of grout. Two different colors of silicone on the backsplash in the hall bath, holes in the grout on her kitchen floor. Chipped tiles on the counter. Color Tile also put carpet in her home, which had to be restretched in 4 of the 6 rooms/areas. Visible seams and blobs of glue along the seam lines. Tack strips poking up through the carpet - which cut the feet of my grandbabies more than once. I also stepped on them, not fun. I'm honestly surprised they are still in business. Save yourself. This is literally the WORST option for tile or carpeting.
Description of Work: Tile work on entire home - floors, counter, backsplash, shower, vanity, etc.

I went to Color Tile to pick out tile for a bathroom remodel project. I went to Color Tile on several occassions to make sure that I had good selections that matched my bathroom color scheme and was the type of tile I was looking to purchase. Don was very good with colors and knowledgable about tile. He was very helpful in the tile selection and steered me away from the tile that I thought that I wanted to purchase siting various concerns. I was told to that I should order plenty of tile as they would buy back was was not used with no restocking fees. My contractor went over to negotiate the final purchase for the bathroom and there was some type of conflict between the contractor and the sales staff at Color Tile. This lead me to have to make the tile purchase to move forward. When the order came in the glass mosaic tile was not correctly ordered. It had to be sent back and the correct tile had to be sent to the store. This delayed the bathroom project for a week. After the tile was laid I was contacted by my contractor and told that the tile people had given my contractor the wrong bullnose to go around the tub so they had laid the bull nose for the base around the floor on the wall around the tub. Due to it already being put up, the delays and the glass slider going over the bullnose we decided not to have it taken out thus causing further delays. There was 54 pieces of 13x13 inch tile ordered for a 7 foot by 4 foot bathroom floor. There was a lot of tile left over. We returned all the tile 96 pieces of tile for the tub and 13 pieces of ceramic tile for the floor. They immediately took back the tile for the tub at 99 cents per tile. They kept the floor tile and said they would need to talk with the owner about how much would be refunded for the $3 a piece tiles from the floor at 13 tiles. We went over to Color Tile 3 times and called several times to find out what the status was on a refund. Several months past with multiple excusses why their was a hold up in the refund. On April 20th I went to the store again to check on the status of the refund and was told that they would not refund on the tile because 45 days had lapsed since the time the tile was ordered and it was special order tile. We talked with them about the hold up in ordering that had caused delays and their promise that they would take back the tile that was not used. They refused to provide a refund and asked us if we wanted our tile back. We did want the tile back if we were not going to get a refund for it. They put the tile in the trunk of our car. We were not happy with the problems we had intially getting the wrong order, then giving the tile contractors the wrong bullnose, and finally going back on their word to refund the tile not used but not only that they kept the tile for a couple of months stonwalling us on the refund. It is unfortunate how this turned out for us.
