Ryan Palmer has been super responsive from the initial quote through our current project, always keeping us informed of what’s going on. Reasonable with his prices and timeframe. Incredibly kind and respectful. His guys are great and knowledgeable, always showing up as planned to get the job done. Wonderful guys to work with. We will definitely use them again for any future projects we may have. Customer service is a bit of a lost art with too many businesses. Not these guys. Excellent experience. + 6 moreLet me preface this review by saying that this is the first time we've ever done any kind of remodel so we weren't sure what to expect. There were a few glitches along the way, but I suspect that it's to be expected in any project - no big project is going to go flawlessly. Some of the glitches were due to miscommunication (probably mostly us not fully understanding the process and not knowing what questions to ask), some scheduling issues (some avoidable, some not), and some communication issues (we were sometimes not informed of things - schedules, delays, etc - that we thought we should have been told). Bottom line though is that the work was done pretty close to on time, Ryan and his crew were friendly, polite, and helpful, and the quality of the work was/is excellent! We love our additional space!

+ 5 moreRyan and his "team" came in and completed my kitchen remodel after a broken water line and a previous contractor had made a poor mess of everything. They completed installation of all cabinets/island, laminate counter-tops, electrical/plumbing work, and installation of appliances in basically a month. They were prompt and courteous at all times, often going beyond what was required. Their craftsmanship is excellent! You'll be fortunate if you can hire them. Had to cut off approximately 7 inches of wall, lower electric boxes down, put new cap on for granite, install dry wall for tile backsplash plus drywall and texture wall after lowering. Communication was exceptional, promptly answered any questions and concerns I had. Cleaned up after every visit. All work was nicely done and finished job in a timely manner. Very professional.

+ 0 moreDIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH: WASTED OUR TIME. The owner and one of his workers walked through our basement and let us know that they were 3 weeks out from being able to produce an estimate for the initial remodel phase (stud walls and electrical). I called and inquired when I didn't hear from them after 3 weeks; they were, of course, running behind. What I object to here is, having suggested hiring another contractor to take care of our urgent electrical need, they asked us to wait because they had the estimate partially written and would be sending it to us in the next few days. We never received anything--no phone call, no estimate, no service. That was over two months ago, and I have since hired someone else who got the job bid and done within two weeks. I'm very happy for these nice contractors who are so busy they can't find the time to meet their commitments or provide even minimal customer courtesy calls. But I would never hire or recommend them for that same reason. They not only wasted our time, they wasted their own.

+ -1 moreBuilt sent someone out , he look around took notes . Said the boss would get back with us with a bid. That was the beginning of Sept. We still haven't heard from them. I called back twice, got voice mail never got a call back.
Description of Work: Our condenser drain plugged, so water was draining into our floor and walls all summer. So our floors where rotted out in our bathroom, laundry room and back bedroom. So we needed the floors replaced, installation replaced and belly paper replaced. And some otherthings.

+ 2 moreWe worked with Built Construction to design and construct a new addition to our home. The project involved updating our master bath and adding a walk-in closet and root cellar (below grade). Ryan and his team were great to work with, listen to our ideas and provide constructive feedback so that we came to the best outcome. The work took a little longer than we expected but this in part was due to some changes as we made as the work progressed. We now thoroughly enjoy our new addition. A friend told us it was like walking into the bath of a fancy B&B. We would recommend Ryan and his team to all our friends and family.

+ 1 more.My overhead fan/light fixture quit working and found out that the connections weren't properly capped off. Several wall outlets weren't working properly and Ryan took them off and tightened the fixtures to work with existing wall switches.
Description of Work: I was having problems with my electrical outlets and called Built Construction for an estimate. Ryan came over for an estimate and completed the work within the next few days. He fixed an overhead fan/light fixture in my bedroom, laundry room light and all the living/dining room outlets. Very pleased with the work and will use them again for future projects

+ -1 moreI selected Built Construction (BC) after getting 4 responding bids from a field of several electrical contractors. One thing that made BC appealing is that they are more than just electrical contractors, they are general contractors as well and can handle additional work including sheetrock repair. This made it unnecessary to get other contractor(s) to complete the work. The scope of work included work such as installing multiple dedicated and additional electrical circuits, installing and moving outlets and fixtures with ceiling fan braces, replacing the service breaker box and breakers, cat5 cable run, added accent lighting in the kitchen with suggestions which improved my original expectations. Additionally, I could depend on them to point out issues that they observed while performing their work, including a foundation rot problem that they provided pictures and were able to provide a reasonable bid to correct. My only complaint is the bids were rarely delivered when promised and only after several call backs. I understand the owner is taking steps to correct this. Additional scope of work was handled with satisfaction. The employees gave every indication of being trustworthy and diligent. I don?t have any concerns about them carrying out their work without me being home. All areas of my house was cleaned up after work completed. I hope to use Built Construction for future work.

Built was the lowest bid. |Scope of Work: |Replace house service with new 200A with new breakers. |Add four new circuits. |Install LED lighting and new light can in kitchen. |Relocate bedroom light fixtures and install ceiling fan braces. |Add outdoor receptical. |Install service ground and redundant ground. |THIS SOW WAS BID AT $3800 |After award add-ons included running new cable outlets and CAT5 network connection and some upgraded lighting. |BROUGHT THE SOW BID TO $5100. | |While in the crawl space, some foundation rotting was discovered and corrected for additional $790. | |One very big plus with BUILT CONST. is that Ryan is a general contractor who has highly skilled electrical techs. But that means he can handle framing, sheet-rock and repair, plumbing, etc. Makes BUILT a one stop shop! | |Ryan, Cory, Ivan, and Frank are all professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and trustworthy. They don't cut corners and they let you know if they find other things you should consider or act upon. | |My only complaint is his time management could use improvement. Work sometimes takes longer than planned but part of that was my add-on work. When he says he'll be there, my experience was he is there as promised. However, his bids come in slow. | |My wife and I are completely satisfied with his team's work!

Description of Work: Complete renovation of 1978 mid-entry home 1600 sq ft lower level; 2 bedrooms, family room, game room, kitchenette/bar, 3/4 bathroom. Required extensive, creative problem-solving to correct underlying prior home-owner-DIY mistakes and a not-so-level concrete slab floor. Ryan met with us multiple times to provide a quality, beautiful finished product in budget. His employees/contractors were timely, neat, skilled, courteous and knowledgeable. His bid was detailed and communications were always clarified when an unexpected decision had to be made or when we changed our mind on something. Both Ryan and Frank (principle finish carpenter) have a good eye for what looks nice and they are perfectionists in making the final product look "WOW!" "WOW, it is awesome!" was the response of everyone who saw the remodeled lower level, especially our friends and neighbors who had seen it before Built Construction completed the project. I will definitely recommend them and use them again!

+ 5 moreRyan Palmer was very professional in the whole process. He took very careful planning in mapping out each step of the project. He installed the new appliances. It was also beneficial that he is a licensed electrician to handle any electrical changes. He made sure to clean up at the end of each day.
Description of Work: Ryan Palmer remodeled our kitchen, which was taking out old cabinets, flooring. He then did the new floor, changed the lighting from old florecent to canned lighting, repair and new flooring. Then installed new cabinets and back splash. He brought in a very good floor install for the new tile floor.
