Appointment setter was professional, technician was prompt and professional. Would definitely use them again - and probably will have to as my furnace is over it's age limit.

He figured out the problem within 15 minutes after taking a look at it and then fixed it. We have not had a problem since. I had two other companies previously to look at it and they could not figure it out. His price was reasonable.

I have had nothing but great experience with this company. When I called around this Tuesday for quotes, this was the first company that did not try and pressure me for an appointment immediately. I spoke with Jackie and she was very patient explaining all of the base options included with the install and extras that may be required depending on environmental/install variables. I felt very well-informed after our chat. I called some other places, did not get this same experience, and called back on Wednesday to schedule the install. Appointments were available as soon as the next day, I scheduled Friday with a 9-10 am arrival time (a 1-hour window is pretty amazing) and Len showed up promptly at 9:15 am. Len was very polite and easy to talk to, welcoming any questions I had about the install process and water heater use in general. He did the entire job in just under an hour which I found to be pretty impressive. I should note that he never seemed to be rushing or cutting corners, he is just very experienced and efficient, and I expect my install was on the simpler side of the spectrum. The install included draining and haul away for the old water heater. I will definitely call these guys again if I ever need service in the future. Also to note, I chose the 10-year warranty heater and it includes a 10-year warranty on the tank, a 6-year warranty on parts, and a 2-year warranty on labor. Most other guys only have a 1-year on labor, so I was impressed by this. Reading water heater reviews online it seems that most problems happen between 12-24 months of use if they will happen at all, so I think this additional labor warranty period is a great safeguard. Price breakdown of services pre-tax: Water heater: $889Expansion tank: $99Foam pad: $29Earthquake straps: $0 (free on current deal for Angie's List members, normally around $89 I believe)Total: $1017 pre-tax
Description of Work: Replaced the original water heater from a 12 year old condo. Also installed a new expansion tank, earthquake straps (free on current deal w/Angie's List), and a dense foam pad under the tank (code required in Seattle).

I needed a replacement water heater. I got three estimates with widely-varying prices and warranties on the heaters. I selected Washington Water Heaters even though I was a bit trepidacious because they didn't send a person out to do an estimate. I also expected some additional costs for replacing some piping and equipment that I had installed, but which no longer meets code. However, even though my installation was a difficult one and the poor plumber needed to partially dismantle my furnace just to get the new heater in its space, he was unfailingly professional and tolerant. As far as I can tell he did a good job installing the heater, better than I did 20 years ago when I installed the old one. Not only that, there were no surprise charges at the end! I expected to be charged for a replacement expansion tank, and possibly for additional work necessary to install the heater because of where it is in the garage, but the cost was less than half of one estimate I got, and with a longer warranty! I was originally suspicious of the estimate because Washington Water Heaters gave me one over the phone without having a plumber come and inspect my house, but I guess they make up for the difficult jobs (mine) with easy jobs. I guess that works for them, so who am I to complain?
Description of Work: Removed old water heater and worn-out and improper equipment. Installed new water heater, associated piping, expansion tank, and earthquake strapping. Took all old junk away and cleaned up well.

Their service was prompt, efficient, and they did a good job of explaining our replacement options when we called. We chose WWH because of their good ratings on Angie's list. We were not disappointed with our choice and would recommend them to others needing a new water heater

They had to reschedule to a later date but the service man (forgot his name) arrived on time and got to work. The work was completed in one hour. The old water heater was drained and removed. The plumbing to the bad water heater was closed and secured. Same with the gas supply. They laid down painter's drop cloth to prevent dripping water or muddy shoes from messing up the carpet. The service man did a good job and I was satisfied. Before he left he made sure the re-circulator was working properly.
Description of Work: One of our two 75-gallon water heaters developed a slow leak. I initially inquired about a replacement for the bad water heater. They recommended replacing both. I did not want to pay the added cost so we discussed it and decided to just remove the bad one, close off the plumbing and gas and just keep one water heater until it went bad. I did not think we needed to have 2 water heaters since our hot water needs were not that large.

Response from Washington Water Heaters
When I did the install for you back in Sept 2011, you gave us an "A" grade and said we were excellent. When I did the install, I told you that the thermostats are factory set at 120 degrees, and that we won't turn them hotter for liability reasons. I explained how they could be turned up by you if you desire hotter water. The installation/owner's manual was in fact left in the provided plastic pouch on the side of the tank. In the event that you misplaced the owner's manual, it can be downloaded free of charge on the manufacturer's website. We were happy to come by to show you how to turn the temperature up, but we of course have to charge for a trip to your home. I also called you at your request so that I could walk you through the process, and you told me that you had already taken care of the problem.

Excellent experience. Our hot water heater quit working one evening. I called Washington Water Heaters after reading Angie's List Reviews. He told us what to do that evening and came out to help us the very next day. After some research we decided to go with a Tankless Waterheater. He installed a "loaner" hot water heater until he could get the product we wanted. He returned the next day with our new water heater and installed it that same day. We have been very happy with the very prompt and considerate service we received from this company. We would definitely recommend them to our friends and family.

My water heater gave out first thing on Mother's Day. I researched the various water-heater service providers on Angie's list, Google and other sources. It became pretty clear that Washington Water Heaters was one of the better choices. Coincidentally, my daughter used to be the Installed Sales Rep at the local Lowes. Before I could tell her that I wanted to use Washington Water Heaters, she told me to be sure and to ONLY use Washington Water Heaters. She's worked with many water heater service provider and there is no doubt in her mind that Washington Water Heaters is the best. I scheduled an install and Steve showed up right on time and got to work. It turns out the hot and cold line to the water heater was installed backward in my 10 year old home. This didn't foil my hot water system, but it certainly made my water heater a lot less efficient. Steve corrected the issue and my house once again had hot water in about an hour. Some people complain how companies will low ball you over the phone and then, once they are on site and have your full attention, they nickel and dime you on a bunch of additional charges and costs. Washington Water Heaters did no such thing. Steve carefully answered all my questions and he managed to salvage the earthquake straps I was using for my defective water heater and so that saved me a few bucks (hey, every little bit helps). I've read on-line that some people pay as much as $3,000 for a replacement water heater install. My advice is to be careful. Do your research, but be sure to put Washington Water Heaters on top of your list.

During my first appointment the Steve determined that he didn't have an adequate water heater to be consistent with my electrical panel (I needed a 20amp tank & he only had a 30amp tank in his truck). He also noted additional issues that needed to be added to ensure that the installation met current building codes. We agreed to reschedule to the following week, since it was already late Friday afternoon. Prior to the rescheduled appointment, their business office called me to let me know the heater that would best fit my home requirements cost $160 more, which I appreciated knowing up front. Steve arrived promptly at the scheduled time, quickly walked me through the work that needed to be done and finished the job in under two hours. My installation included a Kenmore 55-gal energy miser electric water heater, new expansion tank, new shut off valve and earthquake proofing (foam pad & strapping bolted into the concrete wall). He also hauled the old heater out and nicely cleaned up the work space (nicer than it had been). Mentioning Angies list saved me the cost of the new earthquake strapping. Since this wasn't a "standard" installation, I appreciated having an experienced contractor. I now have the peace of mind knowing that everything is up to code and helping my home retain it's value. I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: My house was built in 1955, and still had the original electric water heater, which had developed a chronic slow leak. Whenever I'd use the hot water (e.g. to do a laundry), there would be a large puddle coming from the water heater, which I had to keep shop vac-cing from the concrete floor. It basically needed to be replaced.

They were late at my daughter's condo and just barely on time at my residence per the scheduled arrival time. Installation was satisfactorily accomplished on both jobs. Most pricing was acceptable; however, they charged $79 each for leak detection alarms, which the same unit can be acquired from Amazon for $15. There is no installation involved with these alarms.

The whole process went very well. I was given a quote over the phone and I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't have to decide everything right then regarding the warranty period that I wanted - gave me some time to talk to my husband about it first. They were super flexible with the timing of when they were able to come out - normally you're at the service provider's mercy. In this case, I had a bunch of stuff going on that I was working around on a Saturday, so we came up with a window of 2-3 PM for arrival of the installer. They showed up promptly at 2 PM. Asked a couple questions, looked at the current setup, finalized the quote and got to work. They were speedy and professional. Work was done in a couple hours and they left everything cleaner than it was before they got there!

We had little issue that arose. The water heater was too large to remove with the pantry shelf obstructing the doorway. Steve patiently waited for me to clear the shelf and then he helped me move the shelf out of the way. Thanks Steve.
Description of Work: Steve gave me a bid to replace a 75 gallon water heater with a revented stack to the furnace stack. (3inch to 4 inch.) and a replacement water expansion tank. He also provided me with several different options to choose that satisfied my needs. After checking prices with various other "A" rated providers Steve's prices was considerably less. Above that he also gave me a fee estimate where other providers would either only do it over the phone or hit you with a trip charge. I also worked with Jacci at the office and had a great experience there as well. I just had the work done today and as expected, service was beyond expectations. He provided a 2 hour arrival time window and showed up within 20 minutes of the start window. I would definitely recommend Washington Water Heater to anyone needing a new water heater. Above that the American Primere Water heater is manufactured in the USA as opposed to Rheem and Bradford White. also think I've found myself a new plumber. Thanks Steve for a great job and service.

So they let the sales go but ensured I was taking care of same day. That's what I call customer service!

.So we kept hearing water running in our house (sort of like a toilet that wouldn't turn off) It turns out we had hot water coming out of the top of our water heater (hot water) Washington water heater came in, popped the Expansion tank off and found out it was broken - which is probably why the water tank was leaking when it was too hot. They didn't have the right size expansion tank in the truck, which I thought kind of sucked because our water heater is pretty much standard size, it cost us another $20 more for the larger tank ($159 vs $139) but I had preferred to get the job done right there, rather than them coming out later. They also replaced the Pressure Release valve on the top of the tank - if I had thought about this I don't know if I would have done it, but it couldn't have hurt for the $79 - it clearly was WORKING because water was coming out through it :) But at the same time it should only be used for "emergencies" so the fact it was being used was bad, good to make sure it continues to work if anything else fails. After all of that was done, he was checking our water pressure and realized the water pressure regulator valve was broken (the water pressure at the curb is higher than in your house, because the city wants to make sure everyone has good water pressure, so each house has a pressure regulator valve that reduces the pressure from the curb into the house. Our house is about 20 years old, I think it was uber early for it to fail but *shrug*. Replacing the PRV required a bunch of soldering work, he didn't have this part on his truck either, but was able to run and get one in about 20 minutes (boo for parts, yeah for getting done!) We also had an old water softener that was sort of hooked up to our house, it wasn't operational anymore and even the previous owners of the house hadn't used it. WASHINGTON WATER HEATERS removed this for FREE which I was happy about, but in the end I think we ended up paying for it, it wasn't that much more work...still I want to say THANK YOU to them for this. They went above and beyond in this situation. Everything is working & looking great. 3 Days later... At first we thought we just had extra air in the pipes when we turns faucets on (as part of the repair process we had to turn off the water/drain it from the house) We kept getting a "whistle" from the pipes when we took a shower, turned a faucet on/washing machines/etc. Called WASHINGTON WATER HEATERS up and later that afternoon they came out, adjusted our new PRV and we haven't had any problems since. Best part (which I would expect and did receive) After the tech was done he just shook my hand and left, I didn't get charged for the service call. Not the cheapest service provider, I don't know if I'd call them out every year to inspect things, but they came through when we had problems and solved the problem in the end. We will use them again.

I am not very happy. He did not tell me that water always drains. Water is ph balance 3-4. It is very poisonous. The water is supposed to be drained in a drain hole in garage and I do not have one. He asked me to pay an additional $300.00 for draining the water heater through the washing tub drain. The washing tub drain is located directly behind the water heater. He has not attached a neutralizer to drain outside.

Response from Washington Water Heaters
Your review of transaction is unfair. This install was done a year ago. When you called us, your tank was leaking and you needed service immediately. We came out the same day and gave you an estimate. You called us back later in the day and booked your installation for the next day. When you called us back one year later to discuss the condensation drain, we came out the next day. I'm not sure how much more "Responsive" or "Punctual" we could have been. We did in fact discuss our installation with you before we began, including how we would run the condensation drain. We also fixed a broken pipe in the wall, and replaced your pressure reducing valve. The condensation drain was piped to an exterior termination. We would always look for a way to drain condensation to an outside location over running it to a home drain. In your case, there is a perfect gravel area by the hose bib for this termination. It is perfectly legal, and safe to terminate the condensation as we did it. No neutralizer is required for that type of termination. We are perfectly happy to come back and re route the drain to your laundry tub, but you must consider the following issues: 1. It would cost $300.00 + tax for the service call, labor, and the neutralizer that WOULD be required for that type of termination. 2. This would effectively render your laundry tub unusable for soaking items, and other "laundry tub" type tasks because of the draining condensation. 3. The neutralizer would need to be replaced annually (today's cost is $100.00). We routed the line as we did with your best interest in mind. (note: water doesn't always drain as you mentioned, it drains ONLY when you run hot water, and is a normal function of the most efficient style tankless systems). In summary, we came immediately to the rescue when you called us. We offered you 3 options for tankless systems, and discussed the layout of the installations. You called us back later that day and decided on the Eternal Hybrid system. We came back the next day and professionally installed the system. You paid us, and registered the product with Eternal the same day. You then waited a week shy of one year to call and complain of the way we did the condensation drain. We immediately came back out free of charge to discuss it with you. We showed you why we did it that way, and offered you a remedy if you want it changed. Your review is unreasonable, unfair, and inaccurate. Additional note: After completing the installation, Tom was cleaned up, loaded and ready to leave, needing only to collect payment. You then went into the house and actually took a shower, making Tom sit and wait for more than 30 minutes. You also tried to renegotiate the price of the work AFTER we were done, even though we had already credited you with our Angie's List discount of $100.00.

Steve Hyde and his crew were always prompt, professional, and responsive. They kept me abreast of their progress and worked with me to overcome challenges that arose along the way. We enjoyed working with them and wished that we could have say the same for all contractors.
Description of Work: We were doing a new construction project. The former plumbing/HVAC company has done the rough-in but did not return to complete the work. The unfinished work consisted of providing and installing 2 tankless water heaters, 2 AC units, 3 thermostats, 2 sump pumps, and installing various fixtures - toilets, faucets, and vent grills. We contacted several companies for bids then selected Washington Water Heaters.

Excellent service from start to finish. Washington Water Heaters was one of four companies I contacted re: replacement of our gas tank water heater. They truly provided the best service, on the phone and at installation. The price was the most competitive, as well. I highly recommend WWH - we will use them for other plumbing needs in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced our ten year-old gas tank water heater with a new tank.

I'm really impressed with Washington Water Heaters. Of the three companies I contacted through Angie's list, they were first to provide a bid, it turned out to be significantly lower than the other two, they scheduled and performed the work within a week, did a clean and professional install, responded quickly to some minor glitches, and were friendly and proactive. This is the way to run a business in my opinion. They scheduled the estimate according my my availability, reminded me of the appointment with a phone message, and were right on time. They took their time to assess my needs, ask me questions, explain different options, and to make recommendations (not necessarily more expensive ones). When I mentioned that I was possibly interested in a new gas furnace as well, they had a furnace estimator come out later that same day. Their bid on the water heater was by far the lowest (sometimes a red flag for me) so I put my trust in my initial impression and the other positive reviews on AL, and went with them. They were able to schedule the install two days later. It took about 5 hours and the work was performed exactly as described. They cleaned up, left the basement exactly as they found it (minus the not-so-old tank, which they gave me some money for), explained the new system, answered my questions, and told me how to apply for PSE rebates. Soon after they left and over the next couple of days (a weekend) the new heater hiccuped a little, thowing an error code and shutting down a few times a day. I could reset it easily enough, so it wasn't an urgent issue (I still could get hot water), but they were on top of it as soon as I let them know, contacting me several times to get information to diagnose the problem, and to apologize for the trouble. A technician was at my door monday, and was able to fix the problem within an hour. He actually returned later that day to check on it again and make another adjustment based on information from the manufacturer. Since then no issues at all, and the unit performs exactly as described. They still contacted me once more today to ask if everything was okay. I very much feel like a valued customer, and I'm very pleased with the experience.
Description of Work: Installed a hybrid tankless hot water system (Eternal GU 145 S).
