Our old water heater was working, but we knew that it could fail any time. Rather than having to replace it in an emergency, we decided to replace it at our convenience. We got two bids on replacing our old water heater with a tankless one. Both were very professional. We chose Washington Water Heaters because their price was lower for essentially the same product that the other company offered to us. The installer arrived at the appointed time and did a very good job. He tried to minimize the time that the water would be off. He showed us everything that he did, and made sure to light any pilot lights that went out during the time that the gas was off. The new tank worked as promised, and we have plenty of hot water.
Description of Work: We had our aging tank water heater replaced with a tankless water heater. The old tank was removed and the new one installed. This involved rerouting the water supply and adding an air intake to the new water heater.

On the basis of ratings on Angie's List, I contacted WA Wtr. Htr. as my tank-style water heater was 16 years old. I spoke with someone in the office, who provided me with an estimate based on my description of what I thought I needed. Tom #1 came to the house to see the space and discuss my water heater needs--he arrived on time, and removed his shoes. He listened to me describe my water usage, made recommendations, answered all question of tankless vs. tank model, and gave me a firm quote. On the appointed date and time, Tom #1 and Tim came to install new water heater. This was accomplished with the minimum of mess, and both took care to sweep the area several times. All questions about function, pricing, rebates, tax credits, etc. were answered in detail. I also purchased a maintenance agreement to service both the new water heater and the existing furnace. A few days later Tom #2 arrived to clean and service the furnace. Again, lots of education was offered, and the area was left in as good as or better condition. Nice guys, fair prices, no surprises when it's time to pay the bill.

tom was punctual very pleasant and very knowledgeable. Shannon came later to assist tom. wonderful experience from the first phone call to the complete installation, and i have a beautiful new powerful functioning furnace that should be much more efficient and save money on my gas bills.plus the rebates are substantial
Description of Work: called the company for both the h2o heater and furnace[both gas] they were going to send two separate people, but decided to send the same man to do both which saved me over $100.00.the h2o heater was fine but after looking at the furnace which was 18 years old and had never been serviced, i decided with the rebates available, this was the time to have a new furnace installed.

My 20 year old storage water heater started leaking Sunday night so I did some research on Angie's List and picked these guys. I called them up on Monday morning and they came out with a new storage water heater THAT DAY! When he got there I talked with him about storage vs. tankless and I ended up deciding to go tankless after all. He came back the next day and installed the tankless water heater outside my house. The next day I smelled gas, and they came right back to check for a leak but couldn't find one. We chalked it up to leftover fumes from installation and they left. 2 days later smelled gas again and felt like I was over-reacting since they had already been out once and found nothing, but they were totally nice about it and came out again and this time they found a couple of gaskets on the gas meter that were leaking and needed to be changed. They were great throughout the whole ordeal and the water heater works great, too.
Description of Work: Removed old storage water heater, installed new tankless water heater, returned 2 separate days later in the week to trouble shoot small gas leak

Relief valve on the top of our old gas water heater failed on Friday evening. I shut the water and the gas valves and looked up companies on Angie's list Saturday morning. WWH gave the lowest quote. I didn't ask the right questions though. The quote was without the expansion tank, and other quotes included it. I assumed the tank was reusable, but the installer told me it had failed and I needed a new one. Adding in the cost of the expansion tank put the cost about the same as other companies quotes. Installer arrived at the time given, within 3h of my call. Installation went very fast and well. Installation was much tidier and more secure than the one replaced - two earthquake straps instead of one. Installer had never seen a water heater fail as ours had done - the tank inside had sunk within the body of the heater, bending all the pipes inward. I believe the failure was a result of the previous installers mounting the heater on a foam pad. I doubt we'll have this problem with the WWH install. Overall very pleased with the service and the results. Only issue was not realising the need for an expansion tank - the installer said these almost always need replacing with the water heater, so maybe should include that in the phone quotes as other companies do.
Description of Work: Remove old water heater and replace.

Our water heater broke so we were without hot water in the middle of winter. I called WWH in the evening and the owner was very helpful, and gave us a quote over the phone. He was honest about what would affect the estimate, so we did what we could to prep the area around the water heater and keep the cost down. They came promptly first thing in the morning, finished the job in a few hours, and we paid the estimated cost. I have one of those short, stout water heaters space restrictions)and over the phone they told me which model they had available to install. This style isn't as popular and I'm not sure if there are any energy efficient models in that style but I would have liked to find out one way or the other, in case I could have taken advantage of a rebate. Very easy to work with, I would use them again, but hope that I never have a reason to!

Sent out multiple emails to various water heater companies found on Angie's list. Washington Water Heaters did not respond via email and phone contact was late in the second day. Quoted price was low. Appeared to not want to talk about specific models of water heater, indicated that did not matter. Said they dealt with all the models. Also said they could be out that day. Angie's list seems to have good reports but chose another plumber because WWH is not BBB accredited, slower response via phone rather than email. Also prefer to support companies that participate in BBB.

$799 to buy and install a 40 gallon, high efficiency Bradford White gas water heater, $159 for expansion tank (now required by code), free earthquake strap (Angies list deal). With tax, it came to $1044. And they mentioned that the high efficiency heater qualified for a PSE $50 rebate which brings the cost down to the same as for a standard efficiency unit. They did exactly what they said they would do for exactly the price quoted. The price seemed a bit high to me but it was as good or better than the other A-rated companies we contacted. Overall, we're very satisfied and would use Washington Water Heaters again.

The experience took about 4 hours and it went well. They were punctual. They explained everything they were going to do. Their prices were in line and they looked at some other plumbing issues and didn't charge me for that. They were right on time, straightforward with pricing. They did a good job and I was not unhappy. I would use them again.

I was very happy with the service and equipment installed. Shannon arrived a little late due to the original representative being sick. When he arrived, he assessed the location of the water heater and existing piping and hook ups. He then provided and went through with me a written estimate before the work started. He was very clear in stating what he was going to do and the costs. As he was working, he described what he was doing and why and answered all of my questions. I would definitely use the company again and recommend them to family and friends.
Description of Work: I contacted Washington Water Heaters originally to discuss electric(not natural gas or propane)tankless water heaters. I spoke to the very knowledgeable owner, Steve, who provided me with information on why that was not a good choice for my home. I appreciated the information and felt he was honest in his assessment since he could have sold me the more expensive tankless water heater. I purchased and had installed a 50 gallon residential water heater, expansion tank and new associated hardware. They installed, at no charge, earthquake clips due to their free offer on Angie's List, hauled away and recycled the old water heater. They also checked my water pressure to be sure this was within limits.

Existing water heater failed on Monday and I started calling top 5 vendors from Angie's List at 7 am Tuesday. By 8 am, I had 4 estimates over the phone. WASHINGTON WATER HEATERS at $899, FOX PLUMBING & HEATING at $1099, BENLA SERVICE at $1070, AURORA PLUMBING & ELECTRIC with time and materials, around $1000. I called WASHINGTON WATER HEATERS back at 8:30 am and was scheduled for 1 to 3 pm same day. Len arrived right at 1 pm. He inspected the current setup and told me that I needed to pay $159 for expansion tank and $79 for moving tank to the floor. The existing tank was sitting on a metal box with a wood top and Len said that this is not to spec since wood is flammable. So instead of $899, it totaled $1137 before taxes. $1239.33 after taxes. Somehow the bill is always more than expected :) After agreeing to price, he finished the job within 90 minutes. He left the place clean and tidy. Of course, I am not a professional plumber but his plumbing work seems nicely done. He left me the rebate form and invoice and now we have hot water!
Description of Work: I had a 50-gallon 40,000 BTU gas water heater in my grarage replaced because it was leaking. It was replaced with a Bradford White model M45036FBN; which is a high efficiency one with a $50 rebate from PSE.

Jim H. of Washington Water Heaters showed up on time and performed a thorough inspection of our home. He was quite knowledgeable and professional. He even helped us fire up a gas-powered fireplace we could not figure out how to operate. We had a competitive estimate within 3 days, and Jim was very responsive and informative to my follow-up calls and questions. He even had the owner call me personally to help me understand everything with complete clarity. Although we ended up awarding the contract to a competitor, I would not hesitate to consider Washington Water Heaters for future projects that come along. Definitely put this company on your short list for your tankless systems and HVAC projects!

We noticed that our water wasn't very hot, and since the heater was 10 years old, we decided to replace it before it actually failed. We called Washington Water Heaters because they got a good grade on Angie's List. The person on the phone was very helpful. The technician was prompt and professional when he came to replace the heater. I appreciate that he kept things neat and tidy. Turns out he had the wrong heater on the truck, but another person brought the right one quickly. We had to pay extra for the earthquake straps, but they told us ahead of time that this was a possibility. The old ones were no longer up to code. So, now we have nice, hot water, and are satisfied with our service from Washington Water Heaters.

Overall, this "unplanned" event went very well. This morning I woke up to find water pooling on the floor next to the water heater. I called a couple of places to see if someone could come out today and Washington Water Heaters could. I called them at 8:40am and Len was here by 11:00am. Len was very professional and efficient. I would recommend this company to my friends/family and I would most definitely use them again.

Excellent service overall and while the initial estimate seemed higher, it was well worth the money for promptness, and quality.
Description of Work: Our Noritz Water heater (instant heater) suddenly started firing sporadically, which meant some amount of gas leaked out. We were trying to rent the house and move out of the area in a matter of 2 days! We called Noritz and they recommended Washington Water Heaters and another company. We called both companies and Washington's Steve said he could come in about 4 hours. Not only did come within 2.5hrs since my call, he determined what the problem in exactly 10 mins and called Noritz on our behalf (told me that part was still under warranty), and said he would bring in the replacement next morning. He showed up next morning at 9am promptly and made the fix in another 15mins. I know these times because Steve said that the initial visit would cost $259 and it would come with about 15 mins of service. The cost of initial visit was $100 more than "other" company but he was willing to show up that very evening, and I had a flight to catch next day. He charged me for 10mins more (25mins total).

I came home from vacation on a Saturday afternoon to find my basement half-flooded from a leaking hot water heater. I called a few plumbers but discovered that having service on a weekend was going to be an expensive proposal. I checked Angie's List for a couple of plumbers that I had used before but really liked what I read about Washington Water Heaters. I called them and spoke to a very helpful person. I wanted to check prices at the local hardware stores, the gas man who came out told me what he thought it should cost. After I had some price information, I called Washington Water Heater again and asked about the warranty. The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful and explained the difference in prices and the difference in service, so I made an appointment to have them replace the water heater on Monday. Their technician called me when he was on his way and I had arranged for a friend to let him in. When he saw what the situation was, he called me to tell me that I would need to have the tank strapped down for earthquake safety, and that there was also an expansion pad I might consider. I agreed to the strapping, I think I had heard about that before but it did add about $300 to the price. Still, they did a fine job, I never felt that they were recommending something that I didn't need. The old tank was removed, everything was cleaned up when I got home from work.
