Our water heater was suddenly overheating the water to 160 degrees and then quit heating all together! I called and got an appointment the same day. They were right on time and able to diagnose and fix the problem immediately. Bad thermostats had to be replaced. I felt like I I was dealing with professionals that really know their business and want to help their customers. I got a good deal on price and service. would definitely use them again!

When the work was performed it took significantly less time than I anticipated which amounted to 600.00 for two hours of labor. I would never use this company again.
Description of Work: I was given an estimate to perform plumbing repairs. I was given a quote for parts and labor which I agreed to.

How can a company be given a "B" on price, then get slammed for that price? For the record, our Technician worked on the job at your home for 4 hours, PLUS his 1 hour round trip from Bellevue to the warehouse in Tukwila to obtain the faucets that you chose. We also identified a MAJOR problem with your plumbing (one of your lav sinks was fed by the neighbor's water supply). We fixed that problem, including installing 4 new supply shut off valves at no additional charge. Quality? Our work was done flawlessly. Responsiveness? You asked for two faucets to be installed, we gave you a price, you agreed, and we installed them. Punctuality? When you called to have us come out and do the work, we were there as scheduled, and on time. Professionalism? You must have liked our service since this was the second time you hired us. You admit that you approved of the charges before we began the work, you gladly paid us upon completion, then 3 months later you decide you aren't happy? Also, when one of the faucets proved to be faulty, we IMMEDIATELY came out and arranged for it to be replaced completely under warranty. We even came out on Saturday at your convenience to do so. I'm not quite sure what more we could have done for you. Your review is not fair, nor does it depict the real story.

The whole experience went great! I was dreading it at first, but they were so professional, positive, and knowledgeable that the experience was a breeze.
Description of Work: Purchased a tankless water heater. The salesman and installer were incredibly knowledgeable and professional. They were punctual and tidy. The job only took as long as they said it would and the price was exactly what they quoted me with no hidden costs. I was incredibly happy with my experience and have recommended them to many people I know. They made the whole experience a positive one.

As part of a major overhaul to a house I'm remodeling I wanted to upgrade to a high-end tankless water heater. First Steve then Tom on a different day came for a free estimate to make sure both agreed how they should quote me. They were very thorough and showed up on time for both appointments. The work was spot on and the water heater worked great. They even followed up with me to make sure everything was working properly. We told them we noticed some slight fluctuations in water temperature while in the shower. They set up an appointment right then and there and came out and made some slight adjustments to make up for some house water pressure issues. They even installed some low pressure shower heads to help further...all that for no additional charge. Every single appointment was right on time and the job was even finished when they said it would be. They were total pros and clearly demonstrated they knew what they were doing. The best part was I paid what I was quoted. I didn't initially think it was the best price, but I came to find out I got what I paid for and that was top notch service...worth every penny.

Our electric water heater started leaking after we moved it to a utility room. Len from Washington Water Heaters came to our house to discuss options and provide an estimate. He spent time discussing our options with us. He was happy to spend as much time as we needed answering our questions and discussing the positives and negatives of our various options. He made sure we understood the implications our choice would have on both equipment and installation cost. He was also up front in the payback period for some of the high efficiency choices. I never felt any kind of pressure to select a particular technology or brand. After doing internet research, which validated everything Len had told us, I had a number of questions. I called the office around 6 PM and left a message with the receptionist for him to call us back and 10 minutes later Len called me back. He was happy to spend the time answering the remaining questions I had and I made the decision to go with a tankless high efficiency gas heater. Len installed the heater the next day. He did a great job, the disruption to electric and water service was negligible and the complete job came in exactly at the estimate he provided earlier. We are very happy with the result. Washington Water Heaters was very easy to deal with and did a great job for us. We felt they provided us with honest helpful advice while we were deciding which heater to install and did exactly what we expected when it came to them installing our new heater. Hopefully, our new heater will not require any work in the future. However, if we ever need water heating work done again we will definitely use Washington Water Heaters.

Called the next day after discussing the options with my wife and lady scheduling the appointment was also very courteous and professional, she was able to pull up the notes from Tom's visit and quickly confirm exactly what we wanted done and when they had service technicians available. The cost of the installation was exactly what it was quoted to be, again no sales pitch for addition services or add-ons. Intaller was right within the time window that was scheduled, called about 15 minutes before he arrived to let us know he was on his way, performed his work quickly and efficiently, then cleaned up after himself once he had made sure everything was working as it was supposed to. I will not hesitate to recommend Washington Water Heaters to friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Inspected existing water heater and provided multiple options for replacement based on both budget and equipment performance needs/expectations. Extremely professional, I did not at any time feel pressured or that I was getting a canned sales pitch - Tom took an interest in what the best option/solution would be for our situation.

Office staff was offputting and a bit strange. Called very early, didn't have full information on the units they were proposing (though they did give me the models so I could research it myself), and insisted on getting information a particular way (silly me - giving the ceiling height rather than clearance above the current unit...), and didn't ask about expansion tanks (which turned out to be added costs, even to reuse current one) Installer was great. On time, and they even gave a call to narrow down the initial 2 hour time window. He was friendly and got the job done quickly, but thoroughly.

We had some construction anomalies with our home and this company was not afraid to take that on. They fixed a poor ducting arrangement so the new heat pump system would heat and cool our house properly. Everyone was very professional and easy to work with. They even helped us apply and get Puget Sound Energy rebates. Our home is now well heated in the winter and nice and cool in the summer. We are very pleased. I would recommend Washington Water Heaters Heating & Air Conditioning very highly. When you invest in a new heatpump system it pays to get an installation company that knows and services their products. This company knows what they are doing and they were always attentive to any of our calls. They came in on budget and had the system installed in two days.
Description of Work: Tom Hagar gave us a detailed estimate and went over all of the work that would be done for our installation. We deceided to go with the 4 ton heat pump system from American Standard which is fully supported by this company. They pulled out the old forced air system and hauled it away. Installed a base pad for the heatpump, and setup the heatpump and air exchanger. They also brought in an electrician to wire in the heat pump breakers in the breaker box and installed and set up a new Honeywell thermostat. In short they did the complete teardown and removal of the old system, installation of the new system and cleaned up after they were done. They also made service calls to check the system out and ensure it was working properly.

Our 13 year old water heater went out on Sunday Nov 7th so we called on Monday Nov 8th and got an appointment for them to come out (3 hour window) that afternoon and give us an estimate on a tankless water heater. They called later in the day and said they had two emergency vists they needed to make where someone had a water heater go out with small children and needed hot water fast. My wife explained that we also don't have hot water and have small children and need it ASAP but they said because our appointment was for a tankless estimate we were not a priority. Hugh? How are folks that need hot water ASAP AND want to help the environment by going tankless when they require an appointment to provide an estimate? When we phoned the women could not tell me how much a tankless would cost to install at my home over the phone or give me basic information. For example, the women we spoke with just gave me a range of $3000 to $3900 (their web site says, "Most gas-fired tankless water heater installations cost $2500 - $3000 including parts and labor.") and when I asked about what price range would accomidate a 2 to 3 applications (major appliances/showers) tankless system she said she was not a technition and didn't know, so they needed somone to come out and do an estimate. Basically, if your water heater goes out and you have small children and want to help the envornment you will be bumpted (possibly day after day depending on who calls in) by these guys for those that want a regular water heater replacement.
Description of Work: No service performed which is the problem. Note - this was the Snohmish County / Everett center.

Response from Washington Water Heaters
Your accounting of the scenario is inaccurate. You called in Monday and were scheduled for a Tuesday afternoon appt between 5 & 7 pm. On Monday afternoon, I injured my back and all my jobs for Tuesday had to be spread out amongst our workforce. This resulted in long days for everyone, including the Tech we had scheduled to come to your home Tuesday evening. We simply rescheduled you for Wednesday morning at 8am. Also, you didn't mention that you were without hot water, you told our dispatcher you had a slight leak, and were interested in having an ESTIMATE for tankless. Even if you did have the estimate Tuesday evening, an install couldn't have happened that late in the day, so simply rescheduling to first thing Wednesday morning seemed to be logical. We did in fact have a customer with a badly ruptured tank needing it replaced immediately. Because of this, and because you indicated you simply wanted an estimate, we gave the priority to the other customer. You called and cancelled our Wednesday appt, saying you had someone else to do it for you. All one has to do is look at our impeccable Angie's List record (Super Service Award winner 4 years in a row) to see we do everything we can to make a customer happy. We would have done the same for you had we been given the chance. Steve Hyde Partner / General Manager Washington Water Heaters

Tom was great, he came on a Friday to give us an estimate, he gave us multiple options of water heaters and discussed pros and cons of each. He experiments with the different heaters in his own home so he has the perspective both as owner of the company and as a user of his own services. He was able to come the following week, was prompt to come when he said he would come, installed the water heater within the time period he told us it would be done, removed the old tank heater. We are very happy with our tankless heater, I would definitely use his company again.

Not happy. On Tuesday 10/26/2010 Hot Water Heater went down, pilot light went out. Trued self re-starting and could not get it to work. Called servicer based on Angioes List reviews. Responsiveness andadvice on the phone was very good. Helped me diagnos the problem and set up call. Later that day I received a call from the servicer informing me that I had to call the manufacturer of the water heater to get the part. Made the 1-800 call per the servicer and lined up getting a new igniter, thermocouple assembly, and conversion kit. Theere was no charge from the manufactuer becuase water heater parts were still under warranty. Missed the overnight deadline, paid $25.00 to overnight the part to arrive on Thursday. Lined up servicer to come by on Thursday 10/28/2010 between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Met the servicer at 3:55pm at my house. He camre in took a look, replaced the part and at 4:37 I signed the work order and HAD TO PAY THEM $393.11 for less than an hours work. In all fairness I was quoted over the phone $359.00, but that was becuase I thought it would take a couple of hours and they were just covering themselves in the event it took longer. There was no value in paying that much, but I wasn't going to hold ther service tech hostage. This was ridiculous, and I will not use thier services again unless I can get some restitution.

Our company follows a Flat Rate pricing schedule. We gave you the info you needed to get the parts for your water heater for free, and quoted you a flat rate price to make the repair. You agreed to the price, and we scheduled the appointment. We were 5 minutes early for the scheduled appointment, and skillfully made the required repairs in an average amount of time for the task. You should consider that we had considerably more time involved with helping you than simply the time the Tech was at your home. Flat rate pricing actually protects the customer, as the price would be the same if it took us 3 hours, or 45 minutes. You certainly shouldn't penalize us for the fact that our Technicians are skilled and efficient. When you deal with Washington Water Heaters, you will always have the exact price BEFORE we begin any work. If at that point you are not comfortable with the pricing, you can send our Technician away and pay nothing. Ultimately, you aren't happy, and we want to try and remedy that. I will personally contact you to see what we can do to make you feel better about your experience. Thank you for the opportunity to provide BETTER customer service. Called for an estimate. Tom was out the next morning. He was very friendly and professional. He showed me the details of three units and explained to me which one he used in his house. You always hear this kind of story ("this is what I use in my house") thing but the price difference was only $200 across the three units and I can't imagine they would want the hassle of a bad install to pick up $200. They scheduled the install quickly and were on the job the next day. The install itself was VERY well done including the placement of the new unit, plumbing the new gas line and running the new air intake and exhaust. Followed all codes, esp keeping the exhaust away from the air intake for the furnace. My ONLY issue (and it is VERY minor) was that there was some drywall and sawdust that I had to clean up (the reason for the B) but this was so minor I didn't even feel it worth mentioning to them. This is a solid company of good people and I'll recommend both the unit (Eternal Hybrid) and the company to friends. I'll certainly use them for future HVAC work on my house. They honored an Angie's List on-line coupon for $100 off plus explained to me how to get my rebate from PSE as well as apply for federal tax credit. Overall with their fair price plus these rebates and the coupon I feel I got a great deal. As far as the product itself goes, I can't tell we aren't using a tank water heater. It just works. Time will tell, but right now I am very pleased. I was nervous about getting a brand-new technology with only 15 installs in the areal. Tom told me if I was not happy within 60 days he would swap it out for one of his other units for free. Clearly he knew is money was safe! If you are dead honest and do the numbers the cost vs a tank heater takes a LONG time to recover, but then you don't have the benefit of endless hot water, which as a father with three teenagers all fighting for shower time is priceless...

Steve came out the same morning I called to give an estimate. He was friendly and professional. While another company bidding was more thorough in making sure I understood all components of the installation, we ultimately went with Washington Water Heaters because they were priced lower for the same product. There were a few things I felt he should have brought up during the bid, but I got in touch with him later on to get those questions answered. They came out to install the day after we chose to go with them. Their installer, Len, was great. He was thorough, punctual, and personable. We've been very happy with our new tankless heater since installation.

We phoned several companies that week, Washington Water Heaters was able to come out fairly quickly. The service person was unable to initially diagnose the problem - our neighbor was also having work done on their hot water heater by a different company - the tech went over and discussed with their service tech, and he called the office and was able to to determine we needed a new thermo-couple. He did not have the exact part needed, so fitted a temporary replacement, and ordered a new one, which he stated would arrive in approximately a week, he indicated he would come back out to install when the part arrived and in the meantime, the temporary part should last until that time. We charged $299. 2 days later we again had no hot water, we phoned and the tech came out again with the correct part and installed, there was an additional charge of $200.

Although I didn't tell them my situation was an emergency, the company treated it that way just the same. The technician arrived at my home within 3 hours of my call, and got right to work. He was finished in less than two hours. He cleaned the floor all around the water heater (the tank had been leaking all night). He was suppose to install an earthquake strap also, but it was not on the work order. The dispatcher called the next day to schedule a time for the tech to come back out and install the strap. Poor guy had to move the tank inorder to attach the strap to the wall. That meant disconnecting it. It was as much work as the initial install. He completed the work in less than an hour, and he did it with a pleasant attitude. He didn't show any resentment, as some might have, about making a second trip. Everyone, from the office to the field technician, was very helpful and very pleasant. I really appreciated how quickly they were out to solve my problem. Washington Water Heaters provided excellent service. I would not have known any different whether or not I was to have an earthquake strap. It was a good experience. I am a satisfied customer.

I contacted the company Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. They had someone here by 10:00. He removed the old water heater, cleaned the area...including the water on the floor, installed the new water heater, re-installed the earthquake brakets, and reconnected the overflow pipes. He did a great job....thorough, efficient, and professional. I was told by others that the price they charged was too high but I didn't have time to call around for pricing so I went with Washington Water Heaters based on the reviews on Angie's List.

When my water heater died, it went out slowly; so I had time to shop around for a company to replace it. Washington Water Heaters had the most responsive, detailed and informative phone service so I chose them. Several of the companies I called seemed thrown off or completely stymied by my setup, which uses a PowerVent water heater and also an AquaTherm furnace. (One plumber literally laughed at me over the phone and declined to take the job.) In this system the water heater does double duty as the heat source for forced air heating and Steve was not only conversant with the system, but had also gone and done some additional research with a heating expert before starting my job. I was given a 1hr window in which to wait for Steve, who actually showed up about 5 minutes early. He took a look at the existing setup, confirmed that the tank was leaking and needed to be replaced, and then talked with me about the other problem which was hot water quickly running tepid. That is what led him to check the mixing valve, which did turn out to be shot. He was very patient with me, taking the time to explain how the system was supposed to be working, and the way in which it probably wasn't. He wrote up a quote and explained it line by line. He calculated everything twice, a best case and worst case scenario, and got to work. The job took him all told almost five hours and included several no charge extras to clean up the existing connections (such as the new shutoff valves and a new check valve between the heater and furnace.) He didn't sell me an unnecessary expansion tank, I really appreciated his honesty that my system didn't need it. After everything was in, he again patiently showed me what he had done, explained why he had done it in the way he had, and reviewed adjustment procedures with me. I can't stress enough how patient and friendly everyone I dealt with at WA Water Heaters was, and the lengths they went to to make sure I knew what was happening and why. Steve was knowledgeable and friendly, gave clear explanations without being condescending or brusque, did clean, solid-looking work and stood behind his work, with an offer to call him immediately if anything went wrong or any questions arose. I recommend WA Water Heaters without reservation or hesitation.
Description of Work: Steve from WA Water Heaters replaced my leaking water heater with a new one, handling the installation of the new and the removal of the old one. He also replaced my mixing valve after diagnosing that it had seized up. He checked the pressure, checked for whether an expansion tank was needed, and brought the installation up to the level it should have originally been at by installing several valves between the water heater and the AquaTherm Furnace. He also extended the PVC vent duct work, as the new heater is a bit shorter than the old.

We worked mostly with Tom, Len and Steve and they did a fantastic job from start to finish. They took time to develop the best solution for our needs during the estimate process. The removal of the old equipment and installation of the new furnace and tankless water heater was all performed and completed in one day, even with new piping. There was a minor defect with the water heater unit itself and they were extremely responsive in getting this corrected and at no additional cost as it was under warranty. They also were helpful in providing us all the necessary documentation for the rebate offer from the power company.

I contacted Washington Water Heaters for an estimate on extending natural gas service to my laundry room. During the appointment, I expanded the conversation to include replacing two aging electric hot water heaters with a gas solution. "Len" was very knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions in ways that made sense. He explained that while my 3/8" lines were sufficient for the furnace, my home's lone gas appliance, they couldn't keep up with a dryer too. A move to 1" lines would not only accommodate the dryer, but also a water heater and even a gas range down the road. I never once felt pressured, but when Len said he could get it all done that day - even with a late 11am start - I felt I had the right guy for all of these jobs. Len did not disappoint. He finished around 9pm and thoroughly picked up after himself. I've been enjoying his work for a week now and have not experienced a single problem.
Description of Work: Hired Washington Water Heaters to install larger, 1" gas lines, extend gas service to the laundry and replace two electric hot water heaters with a gas tankless unit.

They were nearby and they had good references. They even had a discount for seniors. The heater had corroded, as it was very old. A person came within 2 hours after I called them and he said that he could make the heater last for another 2 years. He also said that he could get a new heater and install it the very afternoon if I wanted. I agreed and he replaced the heater within 2 hours.
Description of Work: I used them to replace the water heater.

The woman who answered the phone was very professional and helpful. She was able to determine over the phone how old our water heater was and gave us a quote to replace over the phone. We did some research the next couple of days and compared prices with other companies. We chose this company because of what other's on Angie's List had said about their experience with them and our first impression of how responsive and helpful they were on the phone. The technician was prompt and very professional, explaining everything to be done before he started. We will definitely use this company again in the future.
