I recently had an unsettling experience with this plumbing service that left me feeling unfairly treated. Initially, I was quoted $650 for to try and detect a leak at my home. However, upon completion of the service, I was surprised with a bill nearly $400 higher, totaling $952. When I contacted the plumbing company for clarification, they informed me that the additional charges were for labor. This was perplexing as I had only requested leak detection, not any labor-intensive repairs. The lack of transparency and the unexpected increase in cost have left me deeply disappointed. I believe in fair business practices and clear communication, which were not upheld in this instance. I hope that my feedback encourages the company to adopt more straightforward billing practices to prevent similar experiences for other customers.

I hired them and agreed to pay them their expensive rate with the understanding that they would fix a leak in my condo and would source the part if needed. After a $300 visit and two weeks, they were able to do neither and Haleigh from The Plumbing Joint says that it's not their problem. My faucet is old and they can't find the part, so it's my problem. As far as I'm concerned they didn't hold up their end of the bargain in any capacity, yet I had to pay $300. Now Haleigh from the Plumbing Joint is saying that they decided to cash my check and not help me because I left them a bad Yelp review. It doesn't make any sense to me, especially coming from a business that got paid. Also, they emailed me asking me for a review. I'm not sure they know how the Internet works. Or how reviews work. Or how plumbing works. I hired 2 Sons Plumbing who came and fixed my leak and found the part without issue. So is the Plumbing Joint a group of bad plumbers or cheap scammers? A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B? They have a 3.6/5 rating on Google. You decide.

Very happy with the entire experience. Got an estimate which was the lowest of the 4 plumbing companies that I contacted for the job. I felt the price was reasonable and pretty close to the price I thought it would cost. The job was done at the agreed upon estimate quote price, no additional cost after the fact. I was able to schedule the job next day. The Plumber was on time and only took him 1 1/2 hours to complete the job. Work was very well done and very happy with result. Cost - $1,339.00 + Tax.

I recently had a whole-house generator installed. The Plumbing Joint Inc. was the sub-contractor for the gas piping to the generator. Because they were the sub-contractor, I had no contact with the office, customer service, or any staff other than the plumbing Technician (and a “trainee”) they sent out to do the work. The job involved running gas piping through the crawl space, penetrating out through the wall of the house, dropping down into a pre-dug 2ft trench that went out around behind the generator, then coming up and connecting into the back of generator. When the Technician “finished" the job and left, I had numerous issues with what he had done. I contacted my Project Manager, who contacted The Plumbing Joint Inc, who then sent out the same Technician who had created all the problems in the first place. I had hoped they would send out a different, more qualified Technician to make the corrections - after all, the original guy thought he had done it “right" the first time, so why would the company think he would be capable of even identifying let alone fixing these problems ??? Wanting to be fair, I had my Project Manager, a general contractor neighbor, and my own plumber come over and look at the situation prior to this second visit. All agreed that it may functionally work to deliver gas to the generator, but overall the job was unacceptable. The Technician returned for the 2nd visit, and I pointed out all the issues that had been identified. For each item listed he blamed the “trainee” for having done the work. After 1.5 hours, the Technician said he needed to order another “part,” and would schedule to come back for a 3rd time. After he left, I discovered that he had spent the time digging under the corner of the generator and undermining the pad. I later discovered the damage done to the new insulation in the crawl space. At this point I decided to cancel any further work on my property by The Plumbing Joint Inc. Instead, I had my own plumber make the corrections/repairs, and re-do the gas piping in the trench from the house to the generator. My list of issues: Cut the strings and tore down parts of the NEW overhead fiberglass insulation in the crawl space Knocked the foam sleeves off of water lines in the crawl space Failed to paint exposed black iron (=rust) Trapped my garden hose behind the gas pipe Gas pipe was expected to exit the house and run parallel to the already installed electrical line Metal bar spiked into the corner of the generator pad Large wad of tracer wire wound around the pipe above ground Rather than follow the existing trench, dug under the corner of the generator and undermined the pad by 7” Piled the dirt from his digging up on the pad and up against the side of the generator Did not caulk any of the wall penetrations PHOTOS: 1. Damaged Insulation in Crawl Space 2. Damaged Insulation in Crawl Space 3. Unpainted Black Iron Joint 4. Trapped Garden Hose 5. Metal Bar Spiked Into Generator Pad 6. Wad of Tracer Wire 7. We needed 2 stop valves replaced on our galvanized pipe plumbing. The plumber arrived on time, performed the job quickly, and left the place clean. The only downside was the cost was more than quoted, so make sure to get an accurate quote by providing enough information, or expect to pay a little more than quoted.

Technician arrived on time, was able to clear the garbage disposal, and check to make sure the trap was clear. He put everything back together, and it all worked again. Tech documented work he did, so I could determine if the charges were a renter's expense or an owner's expense.

I was desperately looking for a plumber to fix a leaking pipe that had emptied 2 water heaters over night :( Given the lack of experienced professionals available in the service industries since the pandemic began, I was feeling a bit hopeless. I called for service and someone actually answered the phone - 1st plus! They did not have immediately available, but promised to put me on their wait list. They called back and due to a cancellation, they were able to come out within the hour. Both gentleman were professional, easy to communicate with, and addressed the issue in short-order. I will use The Plumbing Joint again with no hesitancy.

While the work done was not bad from what I can tell (I wasn't actually there during the work), the price was sky high. I will be the first to admit that I may have misunderstood their price structure but it doesn't change the fact they have one of the highest first hour rates in the area. They charge $189 for the first half hour and then $65 per 15 minute increment after that. So if you average that out, that means you are paying nearly $320 for the first hour or work. Ludicrous in my mind. When I first talked to them I thought they said it was $189 for the first hour not half hour. I will own up and admit I misheard them but that still doesn't change the fact they are charging nearly $320 for the first hour. I have already found much more reasonable plumbers since that project and will not be using them again.

The Plumbing Joint was easy to schedule and was on-time in arriving and the plumbers who showed up were polite and professional. However, their leak detection and problem solving skills were lacking. I had the Plumbing Joint come out twice for the same issue. The first plumber spent 15 minutes and determined that the leak was under the slab of the house and that I'd need to get a leak detection specialist out to find it. I contacted the recommended leak specialist who came out and quickly determined that the leak was not under the slab and commented that the plumber should have been able to determine this because the rate of the leak based on the meter did not represent such an issue. The second plumber from the Plumbing Joint came out and he was a bit more thorough, but ultimately he declared that I did not have a leak despite the water on my floor appearing regularly over several weeks. After another week of cleaning up water and having water re-appear I called The Plumbing Joint and asked if they wanted a 3rd attempt to come fix the issue at their expense before I wrote my review. I was told that would require manager approval and they would call me back. There was no call-back, so I contacted a competitor who was able to find and fix the issue in one visit.

Good morning [Member Name Removed], We appreciate you reaching back out to us. Our office manager tried to reach out and left a voicemail for you last week. Our leak detection team was not out at your property, our technician recommended using leak detection to locate where your leak was located and the leak detection team that you hired said that the leak was located in in the wall behind the bathroom shower. Upon our second arrival our technician opened that area and proceeded as advised by the leak detection team that is not affiliated with The Plumbing Joint. We would be happy to do repairs in the other other leak location you found. If you would like to schedule a return service call please feel free to reach out. - The Plumbing Joint

I can honestly say my family would never use this company again under any circumstance, emergency or otherwise. On May 26th 2021 The Plumbing Joint Inc. responded to my family home, while I was out of the country, for an emergency water main break assessment and repair. My elderly parents, with chronic health conditions, on a partially fixed income and in a crisis directly affecting their health, were left with exactly zero plumbing work accomplished and a $925 bill. The seemingly inexperienced technician, during three hours of billed labor, managed to accomplish the following: Dig 4-5 feet of trench (10-12 cubic feet of dirt) to expose the main line exiting the house, assess the pipe as too corroded to repair, and then fill in the trench. The invoice states the technician spent 2.5 hours engaged in: “Attempting to remove and replace a section of bad galvanized pipe.” The problem is nothing was physically done to the pipe, beyond an assessment and a failed attempt to bust loose the two joints on either side of the broken section (which was just past the main pressure regulator and fully exposed/accessible). I believe the technician did his best, but the results speak for themselves. He did not seem to possess the experience to effectively respond to our emergency, as he repeatedly broke off to call a more experienced technician for various suggestions. We wound up footing the bill for a “zero sum training session”. After returning from my trip, I (a plumbing novice) completed the patch work myself in less time than my parents were billed for, including a 45 minute trip to the plumbing supply store. We paid nearly a thousand dollars to be told our pipe was too rusty to fix. Had I been present for the work, I never would have let this invoice be paid without significant adjustment. The final kicker is The Plumbing Joint let my parents languish for a full 8 days before providing any kind of physical quote for a full main line re-pipe, which they had assessed as the only solution. 8 days to provide an effective quote for immunocompromised elderly customers in a crisis. They noted it as an emergency on the invoice, but then failed to act in a timely manner on this information. I attempted to reach out to the Plumbing Joint directly to work with me on making this right. The office manager Haleigh responded by providing zero clarifying details to my invoice questions, and outright ignored my request at a resolution. I could not be more put off by this company or its customer service, and I would recommend looking elsewhere for your plumbing needs.

Max arrived within an hour of calling for service on a Saturday.
