It's too embarrassing to say how the sink became clogged, but suffice to say, I poured in something I shouldn't have but thought would easily dissolve. Wrong. That occurred about 5 p.m. Of course, I tried the familiar drain de-cloggers, but that didn't do any good. Using Angie's List, I called the Plumbing Joint about 6 p.m. Surprisingly, a technician answered right away (versus the answering service I got when I called a different plumber). I explained what I had done, what the situation was. He said he thought it wasn't too serious and could be readily cleared. He also described the company's pricing policy (time and a half after 5 p.m., base rate plus $40 per 15 minutes after than). He was in the middle of another job and said he could not get to me for at least an hour, but he would call when he was on his way. A bit over an hour later, the technician called and said he would arrive in about a half hour, which he did. He arrived, was cheerful, got right to work, cleared the clogged drain - it took him about a half hour. Cleaned up after himself, and went onto his next job. I was extremely relieved, and felt I received excellent service at a reasonable rate. I also learned that in addition to what I had tried to pour down the sink - pasta and rice are not advisable either (I had always thought it was mainly vegetable peelings and coffee grounds) - so a bit of a lesson plus the repair. The other plumber had quoted $340 just to walk in the door!

Tony arrived within 45 minutes from my call. He assessed the problem and began to clear the lines immediately. Within an hour we were up and running free again. Tony was professional, clean, quick and efficient. We will use Top Gun for all of our future plumbing needs.

I called after hours and they talked me through the various options. One was to come out that night and do an emergency service. The other was to come out the next day, although at the time they didn't know the exact schedule. At 7 am the next morning (like they promised) they called and we worked out a time for a tech to come out. The technician came on time and quickly assessed what was happening. He used some of the items that I had tried to fix the leak with and by the time I ran my child to school and back (30 min) it was pretty much finished. Just another reason why it is better to hire a professional than spend almost the same amount of money trying to do it yourself. While not the cheapest, the response was great and I trust their quality. I will certainly keep them in mind in the future.

I knew this was a challenging repair because of the tight location in the stud wall. I was fearful that the stud wall or plywood wall behind the pipe might burn. He had less than 1 foot width to work in. He had to cut the pipe in half , drain the water down the pipe and then put a copper coupling between the two halves and then use a torch to sweat the copper and seal the joint. It took 3 or 4 tries for the joint to finally seal. Then bleed the heater line. The repairman was very professional,neat and efficient under the circumstances. For an hour and a half, it cost $330 including a 10% senior / Angie's list discount! Ouch! Nonetheless, I am quite satisfied with the work and would use them again.

They are GREAT! Dispatcher gave me a time period when the plumber would call me back. They called at the earlier end of the time period (very nice). He showed up when promised. Worked VERY FAST which I appreciated as they are paid by the 15 minute increments. He was in and out in less than an hour and did beautiful work. I would recommend them to any and all.

It went well. The immediate problems were fixed and the plumbing had all been checked. I have used The Plumbing Joint before with good results.

I was really happy with the service. I called early in the morning for a non-emergency plumbing problem, and the guy arrived within an hour and a half. The work was completed quickly, and I did not feel that he was trying to sell me any extra services. He just did the work that was needed quickly and for a reasonable price, which they quoted upfront over the phone. He even gave me some good advice for how to deal with these problems in the future for the least amount of $$ (as it will likely happen again as long as we have live trees in our yard).

Came, prompt service, quick, clean, excellent job.

Called this morning for a rental house, hoping for same day service for a drain problem where the kitchen sink was draining into the bathtub at a rental house I own. The woman on the phone was very professional and clearly explained how they handle rental situations. They did pre-authorize my card for $500.00 which was fine. They called the tenant right away and made arrangements to be there that morning. Once he assessed the situation, the technician called me back and gave me a clear estimate on what it would take. He also mentioned that the tenant had requested some work done and wanted to double check with me to make sure that was acceptable. I very much appreciated that. He completed the work in a timely manner and called me when he was finished to let me know what he did and how much the total bill was. I was very impressed and would absolutely use them again!

Great - I could not have been more pleased..

I was dealing with this by remote control, since I don't live in the house or nearby, so our renters were happy with how the service got coordinated, and happy that the problems were solved.

Recently moved into house, used bathtub for first time and next day noticed buldging in downstairs family room ceiling. Suspected tub since we had been showering and using water for couple weeks with no water problem. Were leaving out of town and needed to fix problem ASAP. Called several plumbers to no avail and was able to get Plumbing Joint to come next day after calling them. Steve showed up on time, we told him our suspicions and he thought it was the seal around the overflow drain and said the faucets were not the best and could leak also. We agreed for him to fix, but failed to ask how long it would take and estimate of costs since we were just happy to be getting it fixed as we were leaving town soon. He took over 2 hours to complete this small job, ran out to his truck 6 times, took 1/2 hour to write up the bill. Parts cost $54.35 and all the rest was labor and service. We would never recommend this company or use them again. Steve is very dishonest and took advantage of a situation. I left for work right after he got here, but my husband stayed and is too nice of a guy to confront him about the bill. Totally outrageous bill!

I used to do this type of work, I know exactly how long even a hard job should have taken, I already had the p trap and tail pipe off for him, he milked the job, charged for time he spent on the phone with other clients, I kicked him out, he also left a huge mess under the sink and all over the wall. would not hire again

Buddy Miller from TPJ arrived early. TPJ was very flexible with their scheduling, which worked well for me. On arrival, I explained what I knew, including the location of the meter, where the water line entered the house etc. I had a few questions which he was able to answer satisfactorily, namely that trenchless digging would be used (to avoid removing and replacing several neighbors' sidewalks and driveways) and that TPJ had its own specialty crew dedicated to water line replacements/horizontal drilling. Buddy was very friendly and down to earth - I did not get the impression I was being pitched to by a salesman. He also brought up a few other issues that no one else had mentioned, such as grounding when replacing a metal waterline with a non-metallic (pex in this case) line. He took measurements and pictures of objects/features relevant to the estimate. Despite classifying this as a non-rush job, Buddy got back to me the very next day. In the end, TPJ was not able to submit an estimate due to the lack of an easement in the planting strip. As it was explained to me, if no easement exists, then any work taking place in the planting strip is effectively in the city right-of-way, requiring a hefty bond in place with the city of Seattle. TPJ doesn't do a great deal of RoW work in Seattle proper, hence they did not have the bond required for working in the right-of-way. While they were unable to provide me with an estimate, I would reccomend TPJ based on my positive experience with them.

Was a difficult problem, that the plumber systematically sequenchialy solved.

It went very well. The service man was very professional, clean and quick. While he removed the old toilets, someone else delivered new ones, so the work did not take long. This was important because we were expecting a dozen people for a meeting.

I called The Plumbing Joint number early on a Saturday morning. Mike answered and was very professional. He said he was working another job, and would call me when he was headed over. He did call and came right over and unplugged my kitchen drain. He did thorough work without running up the clock. He had to fix his snake before he could start and made sure he did not charge me for that time. I would and will call The Plumbing JOint the next time I have a plumbing job!

On Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, our kitchen drain backed up and flooded the laundry room below. First thing Mon. morning I went to Angies list to look for a plumbing company to come fix the problem. I really didn't expect to get someone to come out that day, but I found The Plumbing Joint and they were able to come out right away. Tony had me fill my kitchen sink with water and then let it drain. He found the water was backing up (clogged drain) and coming out the laundry room drain. In the process he also discovered that my washer was leaking...so back to Angies list to find an appliance repair company.

Contacted Plumbing Joint via their web page on Sunday after leak was found in crawlspace. Since it probably had been leaking for months, we deemed it not urgent. Plumbing joint called back within 30 min to discuss. They gave me their normal rates ($160 per hour, billed in quarter hour increments) plus a $95 estimation charge. They said coming on Sunday would be time and a half for labor. I decided to wait until Monday since it wasn't urgent. He said the dispatcher would call me back on Monday morning between 7 and 8. They called at 7:30 and set me up for the first call of the day. Plumber came at the time they said, investigated the leak and fixed it. I was charged for the 1 hour 15 min, the $95 estimation fee and the parts. Work was done relatively quickly (about what I expected) but cost more total than I expected. A few comments: - Overall I was happy with their service but thought the prices were a bit high. - I don't know if the labor rates are higher than typical but $160 per hour does seem high. - Parts charges were excessive. There were four 3/4" copper couplers that they charged $17 each . As a refernce you can by these couplers in packs of 10 at Lowe's for $14.00 (or $1.40 each). - Plumber did not wear boot protection in the house. I don't care too much about that but I noticed others do in their reviews.

The plumber came, I told him what was going on. I didn't watch him, but assumed he used a snake to clear up the plug. It was over very fast, then he tested it to make sure all was OK.

Drew (?) showed up on time, called in advance, was courteous and efficient and cleared the clog in about 30 minutes (had to run the big snake about 20 feet to get to it). I would use them again. As always plumber labor is very expensive, The Plumbing Joint's rate seemed to be on par with other plumbers i've used. One bit of advice, they will probably try to sell you an Enzyme based product for keeping your drains clean, you can buy it much cheaper on amazon, just search 'plumbing enzyme' or some such.
