During a morning shower, I noticed the water suddenly stopped draining. I tested the toilet and realized there was an obvious blockage between the toilet and the septic tank. I called The Plumbing Joint and they promptly dispatched Joe Z. who assessed the situation and began trying to snake the drain lines while his apprentice, Tyler, began to dig to locate the septic tank. They both worked tirelessly well into the early evening. Joe discovered that the previous owners had wrapped the 3" copper drain pipe with ELECTRICAL TAPE (??) and that there was a nice little sewer pond in the low spot of my crawlspace. He got the system operating, then returned early the next morning to replace a degraded copper fitting inside the bathroom wall with ABS. After doing a great job cleaning up, Joe provided me with the final bill and recommendations for two water/sewer restoration companies to bid on the crawlspace clean-up. Joe is a skilled professional with an uncommon work ethic and pleasant personality. I highly recommend Joe Z. and The Plumbing Joint. Each employee I interacted with was professional, pleasant, and focused on getting the job done right and without delay. I even enjoyed a nice 10% Angie's List discount which made up for the tax.

Leaking water main. One of the guys came out and cut out the old section of pipe with my help and installed a new pipe. I did ALL of the digging myself and found the leak and called these guys asking for a bid. What the gentleman gave me originally was about 40% lower than the actual cost. I was surprised to see that i was charged for gloves and tape.

A house inspection noted that I had Quest polybutylene lines under the sinks that are prone to unexpected failure (although nothing has happened for 25 years). This is the part connected to the copper line and is part of the shut-off valves under the sinks (and toilets). My neighbor in a similar house recently had one fail in his bathroom while they were gone, causing water damage. The plumber said the toilets were already done (must have been when I had previous toilet work done). I was very pleased with the plumber Mike--he was very easy to communicate with, was helpful and knowledgeable in his responses and responded at my level. I will definitely ask for him again. All the work went well, and everything is working well. Other secondary work done: a plugged and leaking bathroom sink was taken care of; I commented that my new dishwasher made thumping noises in the water line when it was operating, so he put in an "arrester".

I was in the middle of some landscaping drainage work that stopped cold when we realized that the downspout attached to my gutter was completely clogged. I started emailing several places on Angie's list on Friday evening and The Plumbing Joint called me back within a half hour (even though it was way after hours on Friday evening). They asked about my problem and told me that Mike was working on Saturday and would get ahold of us in the morning. Sure enough, Mike called first thing. He said he had a busy day but promised to call later in the afternoon with an update. Mike was able to fit us in. He used a bladder to attempt to unclog the pipe. After a few minutes, we did make progress. Mike gave me some tips on how to completely unclear everything myself instead of having him stay there and charge me. I very much appreciated him being mindful of being "on the clock." He gave me some other options he could pursue if we weren't able to completely unclog the pipe ourselves but he wanted to give us the chance to do it ourselves and save a LOT of money. He also offered his card if we had any questions. We were incredibly impressed with Mike. He was friendly, professional and honest. He could easily have attempted to milk us for a couple hundred dollars by trying this or that while on the clock. But he didn't. He asked how I heard about the company and I mentioned Angie's List and how highly rated they were. He then told me that he'd honor the 10% coupon if I could print it out for him. And for that reason, this company will be the FIRST place we call when need future plumbing service! Bravo Mike!

I was told by the water utility that I had a leak in my water main. I called a couple of Angie's list plumbers so I could get some advice and bids. One company came out and talked with me for about 30 minutes. I called the Plumbing Joint and they said that they don't give estimates/bids. I told the receptionist that I needed to talk with a plumber and hear what our options were since there are now trees in the way of the water main. She said that they don't do estimates, they only come out for the work. I asked how would I know what extent of work I really need if they won't talk with me about it? She repeated they didn't do estimates/bids. I called back the next day thinking that I must have misunderstood because I have never encountered a trade that wouldn't give a bid or advise a customer. Unfortueately, the second call was the same. I was told they would come out to do the work and they charge $99 for the first 15 minutes and then $43/15 min after that. I have talked with other business owners since these calls and they were very surprised this company would not work with me or give estimates. I think this is very poor customer service.

Went well and quickly. Recommended another pipe enzyme to keep system clean.

I called The Plumbing Joint (TPJ) on a Thursday when I discovered a leak near our water meter. I had a team from the city coming out to inspect that day so she put an appointment for the next day on hold. She also indicated I would need an underground leak detection service and referred me to one. I called other companies to get a similar estimate and they said they couldn't have anyone out until Monday. One said a job like mine could cost as much as $1400! The underground detector arrived Friday morning and found the leak well away from the water meter (the city had suspected this and told me to get a plumber.) I called TPJ soon after and Joe from TPJ arrived that afternoon and ordered an emergency service locate. Unfortunately he could not complete the work that day but called in for someone to come out on Saturday around noon and dig it up and repair. Joe was extremely nice and left his meter key behind so I could easily turn the water on/off at the meter to avoid further leaking and a higher water bill. Tony from TPJ called early Saturday (around 8am) and asked if he could swing by early. I said, "Of course!" He arrived around 9am and in a little under 2.5 hours we had no leak and our parking strip was filled back in nicely. There was no extra charge for the Saturday work and I appreciated the expedience and care they gave my rather serious issue.

Had a large root ball that had grown in to the pipe and created back flow into the house. Mike was the plumber on call on Sunday. He called when he left to let me know he would be at our home soon and once here, used time wisely in diagnosing the problem and instead of spending more time than necessary on snaking, gave us a quick review of what the larger problem was and offered options. I wasn't sure what to expect from this company as I'd heard too many negative stories about plumbers that overcharge for services not performed/unnecessary, but this certainly was NOT the case with Mike. He is honest, ethical, hardworking, calm and very knowledgeable. Never once did I feel like he was tacking on charges for unnecessary items or time. His level of proficiency is high, he worked effectively and when he determined the problem was part of a larger problem in the line outside of the house, he had to dig in to very difficult soil and I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently he did this. This was a great experience (ok, not the back flow problem), but Mike and this company completely restored my faith in service companies that know their craft and are very conscious of time that customers are paying for. If all the employees are this good, then I highly recommend this company. Or just ask for Mike:) I've found a plumber who will be on my auto-dial. Highly recommend!

They arrived fairly quickly, located and fixed the broken pipe within one hour. Also recommended a water restoration company who arrived just as the plumber was leaving.

Installed a new kitchen sink faudei. Excellent job

When they came out the first time I asked for and was billed for a total rooter job. Then 1 month later the sinks were clogged and when he came out I asked why they would clog so quickly since the entire house was just rootered. Joe told me that they weren't clogged last time and he didn't rooter them but still charged me. He cleared the clog again and charged me another $283. NEVER AGAIN! They should not be on Angie's list.

I called and he came in about 2 hours, just when he said he would. He worked quickly snd left everything clean and neat. I was very satisfied with the work done.

Very prompt, responsive & professional. Completed repair quickly and that was appreciated. Felt slightly overcharged. At $250.00/hr an extra 15 min adds up.

They were here to fix the toilet and a sprayer in the kitchen sink. The toilet was not completely fixed when they left and the kitchen sprayer wasn't fixed at all. They reported that they needed to order parts for the toilet because it was no longer available. The same with the kitchen sink. We did not hear from them again for another 3 weeks. By that time I had gone to McLendons hardware and picked up the parts and fixed the toilet myself.

Provider should not be on Angie's list if they don't think "smaller projects" are worth their time and effort.

The leak was in a weird spot, where you could not really get to so the plumber ended up going under the house looking for the leak. He found the leak, came back out and shut off the water. In the end all he ended up doing was unscrewing the outdoor faucet pipe, putting in new pipe, putting new putty on it and just screwing it back on. Then it was fine. Overall he did what he had to do. It seemed so simple, but it was hard to get to so it ended up costing more. He came out when he was supposed to and it was costly, but we had to have it fixed. We are happy with it and, as far as we know, it has not leaked since. He was professional about it. I am just frustrated that we had to spend the money. It seemed like a lot of money for the labor he had to do. This company came out on short notice and got the job done.

The plumber was able to come on the same day I called. He arrived within the stated time slot. He worked fast and would have been finished sooner had my sons not thrown away a few "extra" gaskets. I had to purchase a tank-to-bowl kit ($16) to get three little rubber gaskets. I also had to purchase a flex-hose for $12.50 that costs under $5 at my local hardware store, but I'm thinking this is standard procedure for all plumbers... I used the 10% off coupon. All in all, I'm pleased with the work they did.

I call in the late morning, and they scheduled a time of between 1-4pm the same day. The plumber arrived at 4:15, so a little late. He looked over the situation, and I explained what I had done to try an clear the drain. He brought in the electric snake, ran it down the drain and presto, clog cleared in ten minutes. I couldn't be happier with the service while he was here. I'm not sure why I was charged for the 15 minutes ($99), plus an extra 15 minutes ($43), and a $25 cable fee? So, it was more than I would have expected, even when I asked when I called in to make the appointment. All's well that ends well. My kitchen is back in business.

Extremely professional, competent, hey---slim, neat not the plumber one sees in cartoons, courteous, checked it all and why, fast-----kept time in mine, Came very fast because I called sudenly---Sears was to come, but Sears was so nice, they said call a plumber for he could not do any sort of plumbing work if that ws the problem what an honest, helpful man as well Save me $150.00.............. I deserved a break, just had electrical panel put in, the day before and 4 new run-flat tires for my car!!!!!!!! yikes. I am so grateful.

Their service was excellent. We have used them for a number of jobs around the house for over 25 years. They are very prompt and do a great job of cleaning up which we greatly appreciate. I would highly recommend them.

I called this morning at 9 am for a backed up garbage disposal and sink drains hoping for attention today or at least by the next day! I was told Mike could be there in an hour and a half!! He called me and was on his way. He was so nice, worked quietly diligently in the kitchen. When I asked him if he could possibly do another task for me ( replace the kitchen faucet). he obliged. I certainly was not expecting such quick service. THE PLUMBING JOINT and one of the plumbers- Mike- will definitely be recommended to others.

I was very, very happy with the results -- Joe Z. arrived within 45 minutes, and cleared the drain and verified it was fixed within 45 minutes. (My mother in law was visiting, we have two little kids, no sinks or toilets is a MAJOR bummer...) Plumbers rates are gulp-worthy (anything that charges in 15 minute increments, oh, man) but I don't think theirs were crazy compared to other licenced/insured options in the area. (We paid time and a half for labor because it was after 6 pm, but on the flip side we had a person in our house fixing the problem quickly...) I think the rate-quoting over the phone was honest, I think he was fast as he could be, and he was just calm, competent, and professional. So, a ton of money but a good resolution, and he also gave me a ton of information about how to buy a bio enzyme product (about $35 for 2 years of product) and use it monthly so that we're less likely to need him to come back. I ended up buying a bottle he had with him for a $5 markup over online, but he coached me on which ingredients to look for and avoid, etc. We've since done a few loads of laundry, run the dishwasher, etc, and everything looks great.

We called for help with a clogged, non-functioning sink on a Saturday evening. Joe explained weekend rates and we had him come out to do the job. He showed up when he said he would, had the necessary materials to do the job and when he was done we had a working kitchen sink again. We really appreciated the prompt weekend service.
