I received a knock at my door and Tyler, the plumbing joint driver let me know he'd run into and knocked over our mailboxes. It was late in the day, and this gentleman was kind enough to contact me. This even after our neighbor, whose box wasn't included, told him to simply drive off and leave them. His integrity impressed me! Tyler helped stand the boxes up so mail could be delivered and promised to come back and repair them. This occurred on Monday and he was back on Friday to fix the problem. I didn't use them for plumbing but would consider them in the future based on this incident. It takes integrity and professionalism to handle a problem in this way. Bravo Plumbing Joint! I will keep your business card for future reference. And a huge thank you to Tyler!
Description of Work: The Plumbing Joint, Inc, had a truck in our area looking for an address and backed into and knocked over our group of 4 mailboxes.

Late Sunday, water started to back up so we could use no water at all. I needed a plumber to clear the sewer pipe, change the original toilet flange and re-seat the toilet at floor height. Two men arrived, a foreman and apprentice I assumed. Although afterwards, I could not tell who was the foreman. They were casual and joking with each other the entire time. They were also unprepared as they went back to their truck time after time to get another tool. They did that so often that I simply left my front door open. They used no floor protection, wore no foot protection, and laid their dirty tools on my carpeting. They did break a root ball loose and unplugged the main line but remounted the toilet to the floor twice and took 20 minutes to fasten the two hold down nuts. It felt like they were milking the clock. Even the 'foreman' went to the truck while the 'trainee' mounted the toilet. This was a half hours time that he charged me for! Ridiculous at $49 every 15 minutes! They were here for 2 hours and presented a bill for $744.44! I will never call them again.
Description of Work: change a broken toilet flange and unplug the main sewer line.

They get to your place as soon as possible. They are reliable and friendly. I have used them for years. I have liked that company for years. I think that their prices are pretty good from what I understand. They are good for the quality, responsiveness, punctuality and professionalism. I will always use them.

It couldn't have been better! I'd had another company out first who gave me a quote of twice the price, so the cost was a huge factor. We are on a very tight budget, so they automatically got their star from me on that alone. Also, they were very available and responsive, particularly considering that this was all done in the days before Christmas and between Christmas and New Years. They arrived well within the window I was told to expect them, they got right to work and got a huge job done in two hours! They were always respectful too. We have had so much work done on our home since we moved in two years ago and are very protective of our new floors. I didn't even need to ask Joe to put shoe covers on either time that he came in the house, he already had them in his hand and ready to go when he rang the doorbell! The other thing that really impressed me was the way he broke things down when he brought in the invoice. It was broken down by parts used, labor rates, a brief summary of what was done and then the final numbers with tax, etc. I view that as a sign of respect and it meant a lot t me that they took the time to do that. My Mom referred the company to me & I will be recommending them to anyone who needs any plumbing work done. Thank you guys!!
Description of Work: Excavated area around leaking service line between home & street. Replaced the section & made all necessary fixes adjustments. Recovered area & explained what they'd done & the breakdown of charges.

Two plumbers arrived on time. It took them about 4 hours to do the installation. When I installed the extension cords, the following day, I noticed the heat tape had come off several of the pipes. I contacted the company. The owner did not hesitate asking me when he could send out a person to fix the problem. The plumber that fixed the problem arrived on time and did an excellent repair. The only reason I rated them 'B' is due to the initial installation problem. Their immediate response to the problem, and their repair deserves an A+
Description of Work: Installed heat tape onto fire sprinkler pipes in order to prevent them from freezing.. It required the plumbers to climb into the attic area of 5 garages, remove some insulation, and the tops of the boxed-in pipes in order to apply&secure the heat tape. Total number of feet of heat tape installed = approx. 100 ft.

Fri: Went to go to work at 7:30am, and found my water heater was leaking very badly all over the floor. Shut off the water, then hopped on the Internet to search for replacement one and for plumbers to install. (I usually do my own plumbing work, but with a bad back, there is no way I can do a water heater. ) I also pinged my neighbors via email for referrals. Found Plumbing joint here on Angie's and 2 neighbors had emailed that they had good experiences with them. I sent them a message via their web site "contact me" and got a call back in about 15 min (around 9:30), and got an install appt. for "1-3pm" window the same day. This worked great, as it allowed time for me to go to Loews and a new water heater (50 gal, gas fired) They arrived at 2:20 pm. Joe was the plumber and he had an apprentice with him. Both were friendly and curious. They got right to the work. Location was in the garage, and I had already moved everything out of the way and drained the old water heater, so they finished quickly in just over an hr, cleaned everything up and took away the old one. So far, so good, no leaks and we have hot water again. Would use them again, but only for work I cannot do myself, as cost, as with any plumber, is the main issue. They have stupendous mark-ups on any parts, and labor rates are very high; $43 per 15 min. Sat Oops, checked the water heater this am, and found water leaking where the output flex connection comes out of the water heater. Called them up to see how long it would take for them to come back. I lucked out, as they were available and only 20 min away. Joe came out, tightened it up and things are fine now.

I needed our kitchen faucet to be replaced quickly. They were quick to respond to my email I sent via Angie's List and were able to schedule me in the time I needed. The work was completed within half an hour as we had purchased the new faucet so it was ready to install. Very professional. I didn't have a chance to shop around for prices but for the half hour if work they seemed very reasonable to me. I would hire them again.

Went very well. Called the Plumbers Joint on Sunday around 10:30 am. Got through right away. The technician listened to my issue, informed me that someone could come out today and also advised me of the additional expense for a Sunday call, asking if this was an issue which could wait until tomorrow (Mon), as I would save money by waiting. I chose to have them come out today and they were onsite within 2 hours. He completed the work within the time frame he told me; cleaned up after himself, and when he left, things were as good as new.
Description of Work: We had a leak in our bathtub drain - a rat had chewed through the overflow pipe - which filled our crawlspace with water. The technician replaced the overflow pipe with a brass one. If a rat chews through that, then we have bigger issues than a leaky pipe...

After discovering the leak, and shutting off the mains, I called The Plumbing Join and they arrived within the hour. A quick assessment of the issue showed that the pipe to the outside faucet was cracked and so it was promptly replaced. Even with the mornings excitement I still arrived to work before most other people in my office!

My Septic tank was clogged and sewage was backing up into my shower. I had my septic tank cleaned out less than a year ago. We were afraid to flush the toilet until the drain was fixed. They appologized for being a few minute later than than estimated arrival time, but I-90 was down to one lane for repair work. They explained the likely solution. They dug up the yard to find the cap to the inlet of my septic tank. They cleared the blockage and told me to stop flushing baby wipes. They filled the hole and put back the sod. My problem was solved. They were relaxed, friendly helpful and professional. My neighbor had had a similar problem a year ago and it did not go so well for him. I was a bit worried about how expensive it might be based on my neighbor's experience and was amazed that their bill was under $200. After all I knew that it cost ~$100 for them just to show up.

Available on short notice, arrived and took charge. Mike Merrell and Thomas were professional, friendly and knew just what to do. Their rates are reasonable and they fixed the problem promptly. Having raw sewage overflowing in our house was no fun, but the plumbers really earned their rates on this one and solved a big problem. We highly recommend The Plumbing Joint.

The Plumbing Joint was quick to respond to our plumbing emergency. The receptionist was very professional and quickly set up an appointment for us. We asked him about out kitchen sink pipes and he was honest saying that we did not need anything replaced at this time. He was on time and had the replacement fixtures in his truck so we had the work done the same day.
Description of Work: The person doing the plumbing work had a lot of experience. He tried using a snake to unclog the bathtub which was not draining but that did not work. He did come up with a way to unclog our pipes after explaining why the snake did not work. We also had him replace the shower head and the bathroom sink fixtures.

I had already removed cabinets and sheetrock from wall, so it was all open. A lot of smoke and mess, from cutting old pipes. Called TPJ due to being local provider and ratings on Angie's List for issues with tankless hot water heater in our offices in downtown Renton. We were charged 250.00 for what basically what amounted to resetting the circuit breaker on the electrical panel. When the same issue happened with the water heater a day later, the same tech came by, took the manual for the water heater and called us later to tell us that a electrician needed to fix the issue. I had to call 3x to get the water heater manual back (which was finally dropped off 2 weeks later). Update...turns out that it wasn't a electrical issue at all, but rather a bad motherboard in the tankless hot water heater. Looks like we paid $250.00 for their incompetence. I've changed the grade(s) to reflect their poor service and lack of product knowledge.

My mom recently purchased a condo and we had hired another service provider to help with some small odd jobs. One of the jobs included finding out why there was no hot water in the master shower. After reviewing the situation, it was suggested a plumber be called due to the expertise required for the job as it might possibly involve tearing out a wall to inspect the plumbing. Supposedly, the original owner had never used the master shower and it was suspected that the problem was long-term even though the condo is only seven years old. I researched plumbers on Angie's List and then went to the provider website for further information. From there I sent an email late on a Friday night explaining the problem and requesting a return call to discuss the matter further and arrange for an appointment. Since we were going into a weekend I really did not expect to hear anything back until Monday but I was pleasantly surprised when I received a return call early Saturday morning from Tony who was the plumber on-call. After I explained the problem and what I had been advised including the possibilities, he told me what he thought it might be and that he would have the dispatch person call me back in about an hour to arrange a service appointment. He also said it wouldn't be a problem to come out later that day to check things out. Again, I rather expected to be waiting for a while since it was the weekend. To add to the stress of the situation, new carpet was going to be installed the following Monday and I really wasn't thrilled about the possibility of having major plumbing work done after new carpet was laid. Within an hour I received a call back from dispatch and was set up for a same-day appointment and there was no additional charge for a Saturday call as they regularly have Saturday hours. Tony arrived on time and went right to work and within a half an hour the problem was fixed and we had hot water running in the shower again. Thankfully it turned out to be a relatively simple part that gave out from corrosion due to lack of use... It wasn't necessarily a cheap fix but it was certainly better than the more expensive alternative and certainly much less of a headache. I will not hesitate to use The Plumbing Joint in the future or to recommend them to others!
