Everything was horribly. They came out to do the work and started the work. A few hours after they started they went out for dinner. When they came back to do the work my tenants were home. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with.

I called to have someone repair a 1/2 inch copper pipe that was punctured with a nail and leaking. The Southwest rep came and we agreed on an estimate of $ 250.00 (which I felt was outrageous as the pipe was in an easy to get to location). He started working on it (about 5 minutes worth of work), then decided he'd need to charge more due to having to "relocate other pipes"....The new estimate = $ 800 + !. I said no thanks and called another licensed plumber who fixed the pipe in 15 minutes and charged me $ 138.00! It's very sad to know this type of activity is going on and I feel bad for those less aware of their options.

My elderly father called Southwest Plumbing when he was having trouble with his water boiling furnace. I don't know what the original problem was and for all I know a simple repair may have been all that was needed. However they sold him on buying a new furnace -- not just any furnace -- but the absolute top of the line furnace and one that was larger than needed for his home by a factor of two. Based on my after the fact calculations SouthWest Plumbing charged him double what would have be a reasonable price for installing that model furnance. The bill would have been probably four times higher than if my father had called Washington Natural Gas and had a more appropriately sized furnace installed on a time and materials basis. What is worse was that fairly soon after this, I had to move my parents to an assisted living facility and needed to sell the home -- the inspection revealed that the furnance had been improperly installed -- there were multiple problems and the installation not only had functional problems -- but it wasn't up to code. After many many calls to Southwest plumbing they eventually corrected the code voilations -- but in a manner that was quite ugly. Fortunately the buyer wanted the house enough that this wasn't a dealbreaker -- but they did need to redo the venting system to not have a cluster of ugly pipes sticking out of the front of the house.

Awful - took time off of work and in the two days waited over 6 hours and they never showed up.
Description of Work: We never used this company as they did not show up two days in a row for the time they were supposed to show up. The first day they were to show up between 4-6pm. By 6:00pm no one had shown up and we called them. They said they were running late and would be an hour. At 8:00pm they had not called or shown up so we called again and they said it would be at least another hour. We rescheduled for the next day for 6:00-8:00pm. The next day they called around 7:00pm and said they were running late. When they hadn't called again or shown by 8:10pm I cancelled the appointment.

Our bathroom faucet was leaking so I called and they came by a few days later. We were informed that the faucet was bad and that they could install a new one... They also informed us that our water pressure was way too high and that they needed to install a pressure step-down unit to fix the problem...they even showed us a pressure gauge with a reading on it. Unfixed we were told that the pressure would destroy our pipes. I said "okay...go ahead an fix it..." the final bill was over $1200. About a day later I remembered that we had just had a home inspection done a few months before (we had just moved in) and the water pressure had been checked at that time. Needless to say, our water pressure was fine and we had been "hard sold" an $800 fix that was unnecessary. I called them on it...and they refused to discuss the matter. We finally reported Southwest Plumbing to the Better Business Bureau and filed a formal complaint. With all the "A" rated plumbers out there on Angie's list, there is no need to take a chance with this one.

The dispatcher taking the call was very professional and knew the availability of the plumbers. They arrived quickly and were very professional. They gave me an estimate for locating the leak ($500) and informed me that once they found it they would give me an estimate for repairing it. They removed the damaged (wet) section of drywall where the pipe was broken and found the problem quickly. They said that since it was easy to find that they wouldn't charge me for locating the problem and that it would cost about $1000 to repair. I felt that was high but I was in a bind so I agreed. They had to replace a section of damaged galvanized pipe with copper pipe. There were two plumbers and it took them about 3 hours to complete the work. The work was done well and they cleaned up after the job was done. I have no complaints about the quality, promptness, or professionalism of the staff. They did good work and kept me informed as they isolated and fixed the problem. But the price was higher than I would have expected. The total cost was about $1200.
Description of Work: Another contractor broke a water pipe while installing new windows in my home. I had to shut off the water supply to my home until I could get a plumber out to repair the damage. I called a few places and Southwest plumbing was able to send someone out right away.

The price was outrageous. They sent two guys when one guy could have fixed, so I had to pay two people to fix something one could have done. It was a weekday and I had company coming in for the weekend so it was important to get it fixed. When they installed the faucet it didnt have proper water pressure so they had to come back out to fix it. It still doesnt work nearly as well as it did before. They replaced it with a lower grade faucet, its worthless.

Their price was one of the better bids that I had. They had done a really good job for me. My experience with them was excellent.
Description of Work: I had used Southwest Plumbing to replace my main sewer line almost a year ago. It was a fairly invasive procedure to dig upto 8 feet deep to replace the sewer line. They had taken my fence down for the job and then put it back in good shape. They had laid out some plastic before they dug the hole. They had finished the job in two and a half days, and had also laid out some grass afterwards.

Southwest Plumbing is a commissioned based plumbing company we use to service our homes. During one estimate they told us we needed a whole new furnace. But the second opinion said it only needed to be serviced which worked. Another time they charged $700 for a service appointment that's normally $200. I don't like them. They're clean and courteous but every interaction I've had with them has been bad.

The technicians were very amiable, diagnosed the problem thoroughly and even made recommendations for how to go about the repair that may save me a little money. The service and attitude could not have been more professional and courteous and the price was not elevated due to its emergent nature.
Description of Work: Our 4-year-old high efficiency furnace stopped producing heat. I called the company that installed it, as it was under warranty still, and was told that since we didn't carry an annual service contract with them, we could make an appointment for Friday (three days later), but they couldn't provide any emergency service for us! Having used Southwest Plumbing in the past, I called them. They were very responsive, kept me up-to-date on the estimated time of arrival, and were there to help within 3 hours.

They were very unprofessional when they came out. The guy walked around and insisted on looking all around the house. He included things in the estimate that worked fine and we didn t ask to have fixed. He didn t even want to look at the actual area that needed to be fixed. We felt that he was trying to make extra money off of us for no reason.

I HAD THEM COME OUT TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE JOB. THE GENTLEMAN WAS WRITING DOWN WHAT I NEEDED DONE, BUT REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE ESTIMATE SHEET. HE KEPT ADDING ON MORE AND MORE CHARGES FOR THINGS THAT WOULD BE NEEDED. I FEEL LIKE THEY OVERCHARGED ME GREATLY, PERFORMED WORK THAT WASN'T NECESSARILY NEEDED, AND THAT I DIDN'T WANT. ONE EXAMPLE IS THAT THEY INSTALLED A NEW SHUT OFF VALVE IN MY YARD RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOUSE, AND I ALREADY HAVE ONE IN THE YARD NEAR THE METER, WHICH IS AWAY FROM THE HOUSE. I COMPLAINED TO THEM AND THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE GIVEN ME A DISCOUNT, BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM LIKE MUCH OF A DISCOUNT TO ME. I WAS VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN. THEY LEFT THE YARD UNSEEDED IN PLACES WHERE THEY TRENCHED FOR THE WATER LINES AND IT LOOKED BAD. THEY ALSO DID NOT PUT THE PATIO BACK TOGETHER CORRECTLY AND THEY BROKE TILES.
