They used better windows. They're 18-inches wide and 8-feet tall. They're in front of the house and I needed them for circulation to open. They did good service. They were there exactly when they said they'd be there. They're very careful about the house. They wore booties and they laid down rugs on every place they went. They protected my bushes outside. They did a great job.

I had originally scheduled the installation for one date and subsequently re-scheduled it for the following week since I had to go out of town to visit my mother. Good thing someone was housesitting for me because, lo and behold, on the morning of the original date, the installers arrived ready to do their work. Since I was not there to supervise the installation, ask questions about the windows, or sign off on the job, I was quite annoyed... However, I will say that the scheduler was extremely apologetic and sent a representative out to talk to me about the windows and installation after I got back to town. Overall, I am pretty pleased with the windows themselves, but I have only had them a little over a month. One thing I am NOT happy about is this: I wish the sales person had advised me to have a slider type window (instead of a double-hung) installed in the room that is directly over my dining room, where I have existing sliders. With two different types of windows on the face of the house, the "balance" of the house when you look at it from the curb seems a really "off". I would have thought that someone that sells windows for a living would automatically take into consideration the windows directly below the ones that are being replaced before recommending a window that is a completely different style. (To be fair, the window that was being replaced in this location was a slider, and it was ultimately my decision to go with a double hung window, but I think the salesperson should have had an "eye" for details like this and should have advised me that a slider would provide more curb appeal.

Called 1-888-696-8303 to get a quote to replace windows, the receptionist stop setting up the appointment after knowing it's for my rental property. Why? Both receptionist and her manager gave me the same answer: "each window replacement costs more than $1,500 and we don't want to waste your time". Don't waste your time with Renewal By Andersen.

Well ... We had replace 5 windows and a French door a few years ago. Flawless installation. Not the same this time through and significantly more expensive. The installers did not alert us on the initial install date about being ready, moving furniture, etc. so we rescheduled. The installers were very professional. However, one window was missing hardware so won't open, 4 of 6 windows did not come with screens, the staining process has cosmetic flaws which had not occurred on the previous install. No timeline for when the work will be finished and they wanted the full payment without finishing the work. Here the professionalism gets a D or F grade. Not pleased. However, the windows are beautiful.

They workers were very professional and did great work. Only a couple issues - 2 of the windows arrived with the interior frame damaged. It took a bit of time, but the windows were fixed. The only other issue is that on the exterior of the windows, you can see silver screws on the white window frames. Waiting for this to be addressed.

I'm glad I read Angie's List before having Andersen sales rep come to our house so that we were prepared. The best thing I can compare the sales experience to is going to a timeshare tour, except that at the end you don't get any parting gifts. the overall sales process seems overly strategic and antiquated and leaves you feeling tired and nearly escaping being taken advantage of. We were firm that we have to sleep on any big decisions, and it eventually worked, after nearly 3 hours of discussions. It's also frustrating that you can't get quotes for the non-cadillac version unless you decline the first options a few times. Then there's a claim that they have to 'make a deal' with a local construction job if they have a chance at getting you the one-grade-lower window. i read quite a few reviews where people also get this offer, so I'm pretty sure it's standardly available; they just want people to buy the most expensive one. I felt for our sales guy. he was just doing his job, but the overall strategy is old-fashioned and not how we feel good purchasing anything. my husband also left the room to google their other windows during the sales presentation. i recommend this too b/c then they have to be more honest about the options. we were also very close to going w/ Andersen by the time the spiel was over, but in the end, i'm very glad we held firm on our 'need to sleep on it' decision-making process. It was overall a learning experience. we found another option the following week that we feel really good about.

The two installers were Kraig Chupp and Andy King. They did an excellent job of removing the old windows, replacing rotting wood around the windows and installing the new windows. It was a difficult job with lots of wood rot, but the were able to very closely match the tongue and groove interior paneling that had been installed in the early 1980's. We were very impressed with their work and would definitely use them again.

I had made an appoint during the Seattle Home show. I told the person that I made the appointment with that I had done extensive research on windows, would be getting several quotes and I would make my decision based on the company I like best and who had the best value for price. I made it clear I did not want a sales pitch. The day before the appointment I received a call to confirm the appointment. At that time I was asked if I had set 60 minutes of uninterrupted time aside, I said I had, then she asked if I had anything scheduled for after that time - a question I should never have answered. Then she wanted to make sure Mr. would be home (really, this is 2014). She asked how old the windows I currently had were and I told her they were installed in 1960, she then asked me why I wanted to replace them (seriously, I had to explain it). I became suspicious about the amount of time they wanted because I had had two other quotes, they had come in measured, spent a maximum of 30 minutes , then sent me drawings and a quote. Today, I called the office and explained my concern and again said I didn't want a sales pitch and that I wouldn't be making a decision tonight. I was guaranteed they would never do that and they needed the amount of time to do a thorough job of measuring. She also told me just to make sure she would make a note on the salesman's paperwork so he would know. The guy shows makes small talk then wants to know what color I'm going to paint the walls, what type of cabinets I'm getting, etc. none of which was his business and had nothing to do with what he was there to do but I remained patient and answered the questions. He gets his computer out and starts working on the quote, takes about 5 minutes to do some measurements, asks me twice why I want the style of window I want. By this time he has been here 1 and 1/2 hours. Then he starts giving me the prices, I was shocked as they were triple the prices I had been quoted by other companies for what I felt was comparable windows but I still wanted to think about it because I felt they were good quality. I asked him to break the price down by window which he reluctantly did. Then he started telling me when they would need payments and how much he would need tonight. I told him what I had told the person I made the appointment with and the women who confirmed by appointment and that I wasn't going to make a decision or discuss finances. He then asks me how I plan to pay for this because he knows remodels aren't cheap and I had a big project ahead. I told him that wasn't his concern, then he starts in about 12 month financing. At that point I told him to leave, so he starts to argue with me so I told him to get out of my house. I will never put an Anderson window in one of my houses because of the unprofessional behavior I received. They really need to remember who the customer is and why they get the paychecks they get. I don't appreciate flat out being lied to and having my personal time wasted.

We contacted Renewal by Andersen because we knew the windows and that was what we wanted. When the salesperson came out on July 31, 2013, he really pushed for the show and tell when we already knew what we wanted and wanted to get to the order placed. We told him we wanted sun shade windows with low e and same on the door. The price quoted was $5,695. We paid a deposit at that time and half of the payment when they came to measure on August 7, 2013. While we were waiting for the Windows /Door to be manufactured, the sales person called and said the window hardware we had ordered was no longer made and we would have to pick out another style of hardware in the oiled bronze color. I went online to see the choices and told him what we wanted in the oiled bronze. On October 9, 2013, the install team came out. The window frames had been built for a trim piece which we were not using. The installer had to caulk in that opening. The windows and door came with white hardware, not the oiled bronze I had ordered. The door opened in, not out like we wanted and the windows were not the sun shade windows. When the installers tried to install the sliding window, they broke a chip out of the frame. They tried to fix it but I told them I did not want a damaged frame. Because of the issues, the sales person came out again. He told us we had not ordered the sun shade windows...he said he always talks people out of the shaded windows because they are too dark. We were not able to ascertain what we had ordered on the invoice because it was coded. He said he would "act as our lawyer" to try to get the other issues resolved. He acted like he did not remember our telephone call about the oiled bronze hardware but that was on the invoice. At the end of the day he left and we spoke with "Cory" at Andersen. He said he would provide us with the sun shade windows on the south door and south sliding window, both of which needed to be replaced anyway. On November 20, 2013, the install team came out again with the new door and the new window. They still did not have the correct hardware and the installer broke a chip out of the new window frame in the same spot. When I asked if the frame was very good quality, the installer said it was his fault, the way he was grabbing and pulling the frame into place. He said they were ordering a new frame and would bring the frame with the oiled bronze hardware on their (hopefully) last visit. On December 13, 2014, the install team was back again. They were able to install the final window frame with no breakage however they still did not have the hardware. They had to send someone out to give the hardware to the installers. Although the process was long and that sales person was terrible we were happy with the windows and wanted to order two more doors. They had an offer of 30 percent off before the end of the year and another sales person came out. With the 30 percent off, the door estimate was much higher than we originally paid. The salesperson said the original salesperson must have made a mistake in figuring out our original cost and we got a deal. I got the impression he was trying to make up for the money they had lost on the install. We were not going to pay $3,000 each for new doors so did not pursue the two doors.

From start to finish (Oct. 6, 2013 to Jan. 3, 2014) everything went well. Our salesman (EJ) told us our windows would be ready for installation in about two and one-half months. They were ready. He told us it would take about two days to install them. It did. He told us a serious effort would be made to make the new windows match the older leaded-paned windows in our home. They do. On Oct. 8 our windows were measured and on December 20 we were told the new windows had arrived and would be ready for installation in a few days. On Jan. 2 the six-foot four-inch twins, Nick and Colin, arrived at 7:45. They took a quick look at their project and said: "Let's get started." Out came the old; in went the new. They replaced four older sills, and the inside framing of one three-frame window as well as several outside framing strips. We had covered some of our furniture, but they decided more protection was needed so they covered the rest. They took pains to keep everything clean. Frankly, we have never encountered more efficient workers than these two brothers. We are delighted with our new windows.

I have a 1920's home that had original wood single pane windows. I loved my wood windows and the look of my home so I've put off replacing for far too long, sure that whatever I replaced with would not match the quality of my original windows. The energy efficiency factor became a real concern during the colder months. Renewal by Andersen came to my home to provide me with a bid - the salesman was friendly and helpful. He answered all of my questions and provided me with options that would compliment my older home. I am completely satisfied with my decision to work with Renewal by Andersen my windows are beautiful, match the look of my home and are now efficient.

My windows are being manufactured; they are not yet installed. I was given to understand that this would take time, so I'm not at all worried. I will provide a reveiw once they are installed, probably around Thanksgiving time. You don't need to remind me. Sandy Dresbeck 12/3/13 Renewal by Andersen kept in touch with me at appropriate points in the manufacture, and in coordinating installation convenient to my needs. They were precisely scheduled and they were here exactly when they said they would be, and finished their work to my satisfaction in about 3.5 hours, as they had promised. This job was well prepared by visit with a representative who spent the time necessary to explain procedures, payment options, products available. He was followed within a few days by a tech crew of 2 who reviewed and confirmed the proper measurements, and from there they conveyed the data to their manufacturer. Renewal by Andersen provided a really complete set of instructions on how I needed to prepare for the installers when they came, so that I could have everything ready for them. Renewal by A. also provided me with detailed information on the charges, and I was pleased with that. The firm was very accommodating to my questions and concerns. In all, I have had such a good experience that I have asked them to install at this time the other three windows that need replacement, and I spoke to the representative yesterday to get that process underway. I would be willing to recommend Renewal by Andersen not only for the excellence of the windows themselves, but for the service I have enjoyed from their employees. Sandy Dresbeck
Description of Work: I've hired this provider for new windows based on excellent contact for estimate; job will not be completed for a while, which is fine with me, but I think that a reveiw at this point is premature. 12/3/13 They efficiently installed all three windows manufactured for my condominum unit. The building is true stucco, so they needed to be manufactured especially to fit.

They replaced five windows. The salesperson was very friendly, but after a while we noticed that his tactics were very much like a used car salesman. Two hours later, he gave us an estimate which was beyond our budget, so he started to give us new options that were cheaper--of course, he didn't mention these lower-cost windows from the start. Prices still seemed high, so he began giving us "special" discounts, including a 5% discount if we signed immediately. We were hesitant, but we did agree to a contract because of the company's overall reputation (and I admit that we didn't want to go through the hassle of getting more estimates). Later, I reviewed all the numbers and I couldn't get the total to come up as estimated. I called the company to get itemized pricing, but they wouldn't give it to me in writing--a manager ended up coming over to go over prices and he couldn't get the math to work, either. Also, I found out that the trim wasn't included. We eventually worked out the problems, but I feel that the window prices aren't set, that the sales people just try to get customers to pay the highest price possible. The installers were pleasant, but they installed a window in the wrong place so they had to tear it out and move it. Also some of the outside trim was replaced incorrectly so old paintwork was showing. The windows are nice, but I think I could have gotten the same quality elsewhere for a better price.
