Madrona Insulation

This company is fantastic! 1. Out of the 5 companies I was considering for insulation replacement (yes 5), their quote was the only one that was itemized and understandable. You knew each task you were paying for as well as what the workers were promising to deliver, which is extremely important when dealing with contractors. I found this out having met with 20+ over the last month. 2. They had the most reasonable price, and Rory in particular worked to volunteer his expertise on what our situation needed/did not need with an honesty that is hard to come by because it did not come off as self-serving or trying to take advantage of our lack of expertise. 3. They were reliable, on time, and very communicative every step of the way. They touched base frequently about our complicated situation, they were available for price discussions, and they were direct in communicating arrival and finishing times. I was extremely impressed. 4. The individuals at this company went above and beyond the call of duty. Rory was a pleasure to deal with; he reminds me of the neighbor you want to have because he has great advice, good contacts if you need work outside his company, and reasonable suggestions for what you can do to fix things, and to boot he was extremely available. He even answered our many calls with random questions off-work hours AND he volunteered to come out himself again outside of work hours just to help figure out the steps to fixing our problem. Debbie was affable and an organized presence on the phone. The other staff we worked with- Santiago, Rafael, Luis, and Felix- were all extremely courteous and hardworking during the projects. 5. They worked to coordinate with other contractors without me having to micromanage anyone. I had a roofing company, arborist/tree service, and vent cleaners on site. They were able to navigate their own working space and work in tandem on the roof with the roofers to replace the insulation on the cathedral portion of the house when the underdeck was ripped off, as well as add baffles appropriately. 6. They brainstormed to fix problems we were having at extremely reasonable prices. Example: The attic portion of my home was missing half the ceiling (had to be removed because of extensive mold damage) and they helped me place drywall so we could replace the insulation on the timeline we initially agreed to. It saved my husband and me a lot of money and heartache. What more could you want from a company? The biggest impression I walked away with is that this company actually cares about your situation. My husband and I were purchasing a new home in need of a lot of repairs. We have a toddler and I am third-trimester pregnant. With the move, the unpleasant relationship we had with the previous owners of our home, the strain on our finances, and the overwhelming stress of finding new problems everywhere we looked, I can only say I am extremely grateful we went with Madrona Home Services. Thank you!

Fantastic work, very pleased with the outcome. Rory did a thorough job of climbing thru our attic and explaining clearly what was needed and how it would be done. The two crew they sent to work our attic arrived promptly, were courteous, and did a great job sealing, adding ventilation, and blowing in additional insulation. And then cleaning up after themselves including vacuuming the areas they worked thru. Price was right too, would hire these guys again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend them.

It went very well from the estimate process. Rory took the time to explain the process. As I had questions, he took the time to talk to me and explain in detail. Deb coordinated the scheduling extremely well. Among the estimates I got they were the most reasonably priced. I started out only doing the attic. They did such a good job, I decided to go ahead and have the crawlspace insulated as well by Madrona Insulation. BTW, shout out to a terrific installation crew!

Fantastic. Of all the home improvement companies who have worked on many different jobs at this house in six years, Madrona takes the cake for providing the best quality work and amazing customer service. Madrona was the only company who gave us a thorough plan to not only put insulation in the attic but also to improve ventilation and ensure all roof penetrations were properly sealed. They added 1300 ft of R-44 blown fiberglass insulation over existing rock wool insulation that was fine but inadequate, to bring it to R-49. They fashioned a new wood access panel to the attic with a huge covered batt of fiberglass insulation fastened on the upper side and it feels like opening a secure air lock on the rare occasions where we've looked up into the attic. After they sealed all air penetrations in the attic they were very happy to show us what they did before adding the insulation. They installed insulation shield around the chimney, six roof jacks for proper venting, and vented kitchen and bath fans to dampered roof jacks, insulated with R-11 fiberglass batts. Four years later, the attic looks fantastic - there is no sign of any moisture and the blown in insulation looks as fluffy and lofty as when it was newly installed. I mistakenly thought one of the bath vents had been filled with insulation foam, causing the fan to not work very well, and Madrona sent someone out the next day even though the job was completed four years ago. Curt investigated and then politely and patiently explained that the side vent had been replaced with a better roof vent. And indeed, the fan was blowing air through the roof vent they installed and it is the old fan that is the problem, not Madrona's work. It would be wonderful if all companies stood behind their work this way.

All A's - Estimate was very reasonable, communication was prompt, professional and detailed. Workers were Super prompt, the clock struck 8:00 the doorbell rang. Courteous, professional, friendly, respective, informative, flexible. Would recommend these guys in a blink of an eye. hope it saves me big bucks on heating costs, but wont know that until next year.

We got an estimate and had our attic insulated all within a couple of weeks. The price was lower than 2 other companies. They also added 2 vents to the attic. They were knowledgeable about our old insulation, too, and didn't feel that we needed to remove it first.

Appeared to go well although I wasn't able to get into the attic and view the completed job directly.

I am a home owner and real state investor. I deal with all kind of contractors everyday. So if I say these guys are good that mean they are super. The quality of work ( not just laying insulation but covering junction box, installing new door etc etc) they did an outstanding job without breaking my bank. They will be my 1st call next time I need insulation. Nice job Debbie and her team

Very well. They arrived on time with 3 men and Raphael the co. owner. The original insulation had been trampled down by workers over the last 10 years so the insulation was compressed to 7-8 inches in some locations. After sealing around can lights and plumbing tubing in the attic, they blew-in an additional supply of fiberglass to bring the overall level to 16-18 inches. The crawl space was also sealed where necessary, a soaking tub partially in the crawl space was sealed and and fitted with a screen and mastic, the heating vents were sealed around the perimeter, and gas lines in the garage around the water heater and furnace were repaired and sealed with firewall caulk. Rory, the estimator, looked for obvious repair areas, that while not expensive, further sealed the living space from outside air incursions and contributed to the overall buying experience. The clean up was exemplary. Overall, a very positive experience.

Stellar job. We chose Madrona above 2 others. Madrona was the most expensive, but one other went too cheap by telling me I didn't need to replace my obviously patchy, DIY insulation (previous owners'). We paid ~7% more than the second option because they were small, local, and had better reviews. Insulation looks great, is obviously functional, and they left the place cleaner than it was when they started. They also hotfixed a bad duct for me that they came across, that was on my todo list. We've had 6 contractors come through for various items over the last 7 months and these guys were the first to surpass expectations.

Madrona Insulation gave us a prompt estimate that was one of the lowest of the five we obtained and completed the work as promised. The process was fast and easy. I would work with them again.

Very well - work done quickly and with high quality. Only issue was that some areas were left dirty. This is very dirty work and it's understandable, but they could have gone slightly farther to clean up.

Everything from estimate visit to actual work done went great, they work really clean and throughly. Everything seemed good from what I can see once work is done and hot spots in our ceiling which I was able to see with thermal camera is no more an issue

Went great. They were able to schedule within reasonable timeframe. We're able to handle the difficult parking situation at my townhouse. Work was done quickly, completely, cleaned up fully.

You may have gathered that I am particular about sealing and insulating my house. I am the sort of person who scans the walls with laser-guided IR temperature meter, probing where more insulation can be installed. The guys from Madrona were absolutely spectacular in their professionalism, delivering detail-oriented work, and not rushing things. The collaborated with me on deciding how to do things and did not complain when I added items to the work order. The experience was great. I only wish there was anything left to insulate in my house --- I would love to work with them again.

They are not great communicators, so getting a good understanding what they would do and the price took some time. But, they guys that did the work did an excellent job and cleaned up well. I would recommend them.

Terrible customer service would not hire them even if my job has been big enough

Rory came out to estimate and provided me with a very detailed estimate. When detritus from the attic littered the carpet as he pulled down the attic stairs, he insisted on vacuuming up the resulting mess. His crew was experience and used to working with each other, so everything was done expertly, efficiently, and expeditiously. Access to the attic was in the master closet off the bathroom. They covered all my clothes and all floors that needed it. Any time anyone walked on a floor that was not protected by their drop cloths, he removed his shoes. The electrician replaced the two new bath fans, while the others did the work preliminary to blowing the insulation. All areas were vacuumed and wiped, and in the case of the fan replacement in the shower, washed down. When all was done, I was shown how to access the attic, if need be, through the new coffin box over the attic stairs. STELLAR!!
