Madrona Insulation

We qualified for duct insulation rebate from Puget Sound Energy and got Madrona Home Services as a referral. They called me back promptly and provide a reasonable quote. Rory talked me through the quote and actually gave me other easy home improvement projects I could do my self like insulate the electrical outlets and switching out flood lights to LED (which I both did). As for the work crew, they showed up on time and were very nice and respectful. I would highly recommend Madrona Home Services!

I had them seal my attic, install a bathroom fan vent, add soffit vents, and add insulation to my attic which had almost none. They had the best price and did a great job. The salesman also discussed a lot of small things that other providers didn't mention until I brought it up. I felt like he really knew what he was talking about and didnt just want to throw a generic quote at me. I noticed the difference almost instantly after the install. Highly recommended.

Showed up on time as scheduled. Completed all work in one day. Provided video of completed work. Rafael and Margarito were polite and professional. Cleanup was very good. Price was several hundred dollars less than four other recommended bidders.

Very well. They were on time, work efficiently, pleasant and professional, and made sure we were happy with the work before they left. They did everything on our list plus fixed a crooked fan in the bathroom and the left everything clean.

We had multiple bids to to install blown in insulation for the exterior walls of our house and bring the attic up to current standards as the minimal amount of insulation was making the house feel a bit like a cabin during the winter and overheated in the summer. I was impressed with the bid Magnolia provided us as they were the only ones to actually spend time up in the attic beyond just a look around through the access hatch and call out that the vent ducts for the bathroom fans were not installed properly (prior owner had been running them through dryer hose vs. directly up and out the roof) and that the insulation shield around the chimney wasn't present which we had known from having gas fireplaces installed last year. Additionally they were the only ones that took the time to verify that there wasn't actually any existing insulation in the outside walls. We were pretty sure based on input from neighbors but appreciated the thorough inspection of both the attic and walls before generating a quote. Further they took a very careful look around the exterior walls and in the process pointed out a couple minor non-related maintenance items to address as DIY type projects that fall outside their scope of services. Scheduling was easy and they were also able to accommodate an extremely last minute request to arrive a bit earlier than had been agreed upon due to a last minute appointment that came up. The crew arrived even earlier than requested and did a great job explaining they work to be done again then got right to it. They took great care to protect our floors indoors and worked around all the landscaping outside. They were very fast, efficient and the quality of work in closing up and sealing off the holes drilled outside to blow in the insulation was great. We just had to do a little sanding, prime and paint and everything is good as new. Upon completion (several hours faster than estimated) they did a thorough clean up job, showed us everything they had done. Madrona determined that the estimate which had been very much in line with others we received for this work was actually a bit higher than it should have been so this great service all the way through the process turned out to cost less than we thought. Will definitely use Madrona again in the future if the need arises.

they came on time , with a crew of 3 , took them to me a very short time with what they had to do.. there was no insulation under our home... they never stood around , they got right in there and did the job and a great clean up ... I had asked them to take before and after photos. wow yes the did on my camera... so I know how good of a job they did... new insulation under my home and all the heat vents and pipes under there all insulated now... great job Thank you to the company for have these 3 hard workers. and for doing such a nice job.

They sent someone out who looked over the property and made a number of recommendations. We ended up going with them to do the work and they did a very professional job. Very knowledgable folk who were able to accomodate a variety of requests.

I was extremely impressed by the professionalism and INTEGRITY of Madrona. From he initial visit for an estimate through the completion of the work, Madrona was top notch. Madrona was one of three companies we contacted to provide an initial estimate. They did the most thorough exam of the attic space and explained completely their recommendations and pricing. When it came time to do the prep work and installation the crew arrived on time. They were extremely polite, professional and neat. It was the HONESTY and INTEGRITYof the installation crew that moved me to write this review. After doing all the prep work, one of the guys came down and told me they had discovered a couple of small wet spots in the existing insulation, which indicated the roof was leaking. I went up in the attic with them and the showed me the spots. They offered me the option of either proceeding with the final insulation blow without delay, or delaying the final work until I had the leak issues resolved. I opted to delay (and was able to get a roofing company to address the leaks). A less reputable firm could have just ignored the leaks, blown in the insulation and left us with what probably would have become a big problem in the future. These guys didn't do that. After we had the leaks repaired, Madrona sent their crew out to complete the job. They did not charge us extra for the additional trip. If you want high quality work at a very good price, done by honest people, I highly recommend Madrona.

The estimator, Rory, is thorough, professional and the attention to detail sold me on this company. The installers were on time, professional and very pleasant to work with. Rafael stated they would not leave until I was satisfied. That is exactly what happened. They did not leave until I was satisfied with everything. Rory designed a cover for my attic ladder. I had difficulties with the original design lid, and Rafael made sure it worked for me before they left. I am thrilled with the work and with the excellent customer service. The installers (Rafael) made sure I saw and approved of the work before they left. I am very glad I chose this company and would be happy to recommend them to anyone.

My husband and I noticed an immediate difference in the comfort level in our home. A bonus is that the living room is no longer the coldest room in the house.

They were prompt, prepared, fast and very good at what they did. I have old cedar shingles on the outside of the house and I couldn't tell where they moved shingles to blow in the insulation once they were done. I am very pleased.

I got 5 quotes from providers that were all well rated on Angie's list. Two were about 10% more, open was very close to this one and one was 20% less expensive but did not offer the same services. After I accepted the quote, they called and said they could come the next day. Some of the other companies told me they were about a week behind. The crew showed up on time and started to work immediately. They did everything I expected except for adding insulation to one wall. When I questioned that, they said it was not included in the estimate. I called the office and found it was not, later confirmed with the estimator. While I was calling, the crew got more insulation and did that wall anyway. I offered to pay for the extra work and Rory told me there would be no extra charge. They were finished and gone in less than 3 hours. I am very pleased with the work and feel I got good value for my money.

They were great! Showed up a little early, were enthusiastic, accommodated unique insulation requests, and very helpful. I highly recommend them!

.Rory came out and inspected and provided an estimate for the job. He spent a lot of time in the attic and was very thorough. I should mention that we had rodents in the attic and they made a mess out of things. The home is 30 years old and between the rodents, cable guys,wind and time, the insulation was pretty non existent. He expained how the process would work. We scheduled an appointment for a week later. Rafael arrived with his crew at 8:15 right on time.They removed all the old insulation and debris from a recent roof replacement. They put protective covers around every can light fixture. They replaced my bathroom exhaust pipes and wrapped them in insulation, they put insulation where there had been none before. They also placed baffles over all the bird stop holes to deflect the air away from the insulation.. They sealed all the drywall seams in the ceiling. There was a gap in the roof under an eave that could have allowed rodent access again. That was sealed up. We have an attic fan that the crew built a box around to prevent insulation from dropping down. The access cover from the closet was covered with insulation and a gasket was applied to the edges. They took extra precaution in protecting my floors,carpet and walls during the process. They also removed their shoes anytime they walked into my home which was above and beyond the call of duty for this type of work. A third man showed up in the afternoon with another truck that had the insulation blower in it. There were measuring sticks placed in the attic to show the depth of insulation. The job took about 12 hours to complete and they never stopped except for inhaling their lunch. These guys are great!! Highly recommend.

Great, the crew showed up on time, worked really hard and when they realized some of the basement walls already had insulation they called Rory and he adjusted the estimate. The cleaned up after themselves also!

It went extremely well and Rafael was great to work with along with his crew. They were very professional and did a great job of cleaning up and even did a couple things over and above the bid. I highly and I mean HIGHLY recommend Madrona Home Services for any insulation work. Rory and Rafael are real pros and explain everything very well. They are the best to work with and I would recommend them to anyone. They had my lowest bid but gave the best quality of work. The crew was so good and were so careful of my house. The overall experience and work was exceptional.

Very attentive and professional from the start. There was no insulation in the attic since we had completed a major remodel and the old material was removed to access electrical. Rory pointed out that the contractor had failed to hook up the exhausts from one bathroom properly. The other bidder had not noted this. Price was very competitive and included an Angie discount. Insulation team arrived on time and proceeded to do the job. At the conclusion they invited me to inspect, which I did. First Class. Madrona handled the paperwork with the utility to get the rebate, but I had to fill out the application... utility did not make it easy but Madrona offered valuable guidance. Would definitely use service again and refer to others.

All went very well. I was very impressed by Rory's knowledge, & professionalism. He looked at the entire house & seemed very interested in the overall project, such as making sure the vents were the proper kind, in good repair, electrical considerations, etc. At least in this case I believe that Madrona Insulation & Weatherization LLC was the perfect Company for the job, at least if you get Rory Periot!

They were good! They showed up on time, and did what they were supposed to do. It took them just one day to do everything that they needed to do.

I decided not to do it because I already had some insulation in it. The experience was okay although the estimator was 30 minutes late in arriving. That pushed my schedule back and made me uncomfortable. I think the estimator was very knowledgeable and green minded if people are inclined that way. She also made good suggestions but by not honoring time commitments, because everybody is busy, was a little problematic to me. I will not have them quote again in the future.

I hired Madrona Insulation to remove insulation from the attic of a home that had had a rat infestation and was filled with rodent droppings. I also had them blow insulation into the exterior walls that we were going to have resided. I stopped by the house just as they were finishing. The attic was spotless, they were very thorough in cleaning it out. They were also thorough in blowing in the insulation, as I could see from the holes they used to blow it in. Rafael and Kathy were very polite and professional. The job site was completely clean when they left. I will use them in the future to put insulation into the attic.

From beginning to end - professional, knowledgeable, friendly and cleaned up after. The initial consultation was thorough and recommended what I could do now and what could wait. No pressure sell - just info. I have an old house that needed insulation work but I don't have endless funds to do everything needed. Cathy helped me decide what was the most important things to consider and what would give me the most return on the investment. The guys that did the work were quick, professional, nice and cleaned up everything after they were done better than when they arrived. Very hardworking and thorough. Fabulous job and I would highly recommend them.

Madrona Insulation services is owned by Kathy Abrams, who is also the one that performed the audit. She's a delightful and knowledgeable practitioner who has been doing insulation and energy services for about 5 years. She was also highly candid and forthright in her recommendations. For example, she said the utiltities official stance on a certain matter is X, but in reality there are drawbacks to approach X and I would recommend approach Y. These recommendations were not self-serving and would not benefit her in anyway. So after the audit I feel much more educated and see the full story. Drawbacks are that she arrived late to the appointment, and then never sent the audit report (until I reminded her two weeks later).
