Concrete Guys & Flatworks

Description of Work: SUPPOSED to clean out large area with a bobcat, provide 5/8 minus gravel for base, then pour approx. 1500 sq. ft patio. Includes a 6 in pad for hottub, rebar for strength, texturing and of course, proper drainage. Cleaned it by hand, which means the drainage is very poor. Only hauled in a little bit of gravel, not even 1/2 of what he said. Rebar was supposed to be every 18 in but was put in every 6 feet...as you guessed it, it's already cracked in about 8 feet! Concrete was supposed to be pumped in so it would be a smooth pour, he couldn't make that happen even though I paid for it. The concrete was supposed to be colored, but when it arrived, it was gray and he spread some color on it. Color is already fading and it's only been a month. He never showed up on time, if at all. It took him 2 1/2 weeks to complete this project when it could have easily been done in one week. He was "too tired" to come finish it on the Saturday after the pour...even though he BEGGED and PLEADED with us to pay him early because he couldn't make payroll. He doesn't answer his phone, he doesn't show up on time, doesn't communicate at all, he even had to borrow my wheelbarrow because he didn't bring one!! Come on...this guy is a concrete contractor...he used the oldest, yuckiest finish he had on the concrete and it looks horrible. Just STAY away from this guy. He has had to change contractors licenses several times because of judgements against his bonds due to lawsuits. I found him on another website that I would also stay away from. It has the word Magic and Service in their name...but not necessarily in that order. They REFUSED to post my bad review of him! STAY AWAY!!
