This was a very good experience. I will recommend Blue Ribbon to anyone who needs a tree service. Their estimate was competitive or lower than the other services we asked estimates from. Don't look around for a service. Call Andy and set up a time, you won't regrate it.

After contacting a couple of other tree service providers and not receiving any response. I called Andy at Blue Ribbon, He was in the area and he came by to give me and estimate on a large tree that had been damage in the ice. They were working in the area and came by the following day to do the work. Very professional and quick service. Will definitely use again.

All done in an afternoon. This means that I'll never have to have them trimmed again!

We obtained estimates from 3 tree service companies. Blue Ribbon was the least expensive. They arrived on time for both the estimate and work and shown themselves very knowledgeable regarding the trees. They were able to trim our old cherry tree enough to maintain our neighbors view of the sound while still retaining an attractive and "natural" look to the tree. They cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. I would recommend their work and plan to call them again in a few years when the trees need to be re-trimmed.

I contacted Blue Ribbon because I am having my driveway replaced and it was obvious that roots from one or more nearby fir trees had buckled the drive in one spot. I needed advise regarding whether to remove one fir (closest to driveway) or to also take down another about one foot distant. I called Blue Ribbon and left a message on 6/5. We exchanged voice mails for a couple of day and connected on 6/8 at which time we set up an appointment for the following day to go over what I wanted done and to get an estimate. The owner's son, Ian, came out, actually a bit early and called me from in front of my house to ensure that it was a 'good time' to talk. I appreciated that courtesy because arriving early is only a good thing if the client is prepared to talk with you. Ian advised that I take out only the fir closest to the driveway which I appreciated because they could have just recommended taking out both for the additional cost required for that. I also asked about removing a number of old vine maples lining the driveway and asked about a 45 year old dogwood that was looking distressed. He agreed to do that additional work for a total of $200 which I thought was great. I had previously obtained an estimate to only remove the vine maples and was quoted $400. I told him that I would accept their offer because I had not heard back from another company within the week after leaving a message with them. I was told that they would be in touch to schedule an appointment. I actually called them back after a couple of days and found that Ian had discussed the issue of the two fir trees so close together with the owner so that they could confer and both had come by my house to reaccess the decision. Their combined professional opinion was that only the fir closest to the drive should come out. We set an appointment for Friday of that week at 8:00 a.m. to remove the one fir, the vine maples and I was still undecided about the dogwood. Ian and 5 of their crew arrived precisely on time and I again discussed the dogwood issue. I wanted to be sure that it was on the decline and would probably not recover and I also wanted a tree in that location for the privacy it afforded from the street I mentioned that I hated to have it removed and then have difficulty planting another there due to the root system of the distressed dogwood being removed. Ian immediately offered to pull it out by the roots which completely resolved my conflict. The whole team dug in with some of the crew helping retrieve the debris coming down from the fir and the others cutting down the maples. The also hitched up one of their trucks to the dogwood and hauled it out, roots and all. They put the fir branches and the maple and dogwood into a shredder and took away the long lengths of fir trunk. They were finished with the job in an hour & a quarter and completely cleared up after themselves. They checked with me a couple of times to be sure that I wanted a couple other trees taken out that had been hidden by the vine maples and took those out as well with my approval.I was very happy with their word quality and efficiency and would definately use them again. The crew was friendly and courteous and I feel like I got excellent value for my money.

I contacted Andy last year about a quote for taking trees down. He was amazing to talk to and knows everything about trees. He probably brings a new definition to the term "tree hugger". It is more than obvious that he is a tree expert who loves trees. I, like another reviewer, was unfortunately conned by a different company to use their service instead. Let's just say the other company used a hard sell tactic that was probably unethical. They butchered my trees and were complete jerks after they were done. Note to self and to you: Always use Blue Ribbon for any tree service. This year I needed to prune a big dogwood in the front yard. I called Andy who was upfront about not being able to do the work immediately since his crew was appropriately working on storm damage to several properties. I wasn't in a hurry and just knew from Andy's knowledge and demeanor that Blue Ribbon was worth the wait. After Andy contacted me, his son pruned dogwood and Andy came to inspect it. It was so beautiful that I've had several neighbors tell me how beautiful it looks and ask for his contact info. Andy was even gracious enough to refer me to someone who could pick up the wood in my backyard from when the other company basically wrote me off. Andy and his team at Blue Ribbon are the best.

Andy had arrived promptly and gave us a detailed estimate. When we set an appointment for the work to be done, he and his crew arrived promptly. The crew did and excellent job of removing and chipping our debris pile, then cut down the 3 trees. It was a difficult job because 2 of the trees were leaning. The trees were cut to the appropriate lengths and they cleaned up after the work was done. We were very happy with their performance and would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

Andy was friendly and responsive. He gave me a quote within a few days but we were not in a rush so we didn't schedule the service right away. There had been lots of downed trees lately due to weather so they were quite busy. After about 3 weeks we scheduled the service but they had a piece of equipment breakdown, so we postponed again. When the service was done, it was exactly as I expected. The stump was GONE.

They did a great job when removing the spruce tree and trimming the maple tree. The owner is very friendly and knowledgable. Also, they are very quick and efficient.

Working with this company was a great experience from beginning to end. They arrived when they said they would. The guys who came out today were on time and completed the entire job much faster than we expected. They did a great job and we actually enjoyed watching the one man work his way up the tree, cutting off branches as he ascended and then cutting off the trunk of the tree from the top down in small pieces. You want men like these doing this type of tree removal service. They know what they are doing. We feel the price was very fair given the 2 large trees that had to be removed without causing any damage to property. And we were given the Angie's list discount as mentioned. We would hire them again or recommend them to anyone who needs this kind of service. Way to go guys. Great job.

Blue Ribbon responded very quickly in the midst of the storm aftermath that increased demand for their services. The arborist is very knowledgeable about the type of trees and provided good recommendations on which ones to remove and which ones to repair. He provided an estimate promptly and got us scheduled in less time than expected. The workers showed up as scheduled and did a thorough job of debris removal and clean up. We will continue to work with Blue Ribbon to ensure the repaired trees are progressing. I would recommend them to anyone that needs this type of knowledge and experience. They were a little more expensive than our other quotes, but the level of service far exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Blue Ribbon.

The Blue Ribbon guys came out pretty quickly and provided a very good estimate quickly. We had gotten a second estimate from Asphlund that was more than Blue Ribbon's. Once we booked the work 4 blue Ribbon guys showed up and had double checked all the trees to come down and stumps to be removed. They verified the proper length to cut the trunk rounds as my brother wanted firewood for the winter. It took around 4-5 hours to cut down all the trees. This is a great group of professionals and we are happy to recommend them to others.

Acting as an agent for an elderly neighbor I called several tree services. We both liked Andy at Blue Ribbon the best. He had respect for the ideas my neighbor conveyed and was sensitive to her need for maintaining the privacy her overgrown trees provided. They agreed on the price and a date was set. Andy and his crew arrived on time and we all walked through the property reviewing what was to be done. The crew set to work and was done by mid afternoon. Through skilled pruning they revived many of the neglected trees. They are now open and airy, letting in light and showing off a much better form. Some of the fruit trees really needed to come out, but the owner was adamant about keeping them. Again with sensitivity to her, Andy instructed the crew to do the best they could to save them. The crew of three was efficient and professional but also friendly and willing to please. They cleaned up the yard very nicely, even blowing off the roof. They provided some buckets to put over plants that were under trees being pruned and I really appreciated that. Andy's emails and phone calls provided great communication. An overall good experience!!!

I would recommend them to anyone and will be using their services on an annual basis. They were on time, efficient, organized and could not be a nicer group of people.

I contacted Blue Ribbon through email to set up an appointment. They called to schedule a visit to give me an estimate and Andy came out exactly when he said. He gave me an emailed estimate within a few days. It took a while to get on the schedule however since they were going on vacation right around that time. They had a problem with a crew member not being available at the scheduled time for service but called to let me know when they would be there. Very professional and apologetic. It was pouring down rain when they started, but they didn't seem to care a bit. Also, I had a little misunderstanding with the neighbor and they also took this in stride. They made me feel a lot less stressed about the situation. Once they got going they worked hard and got the job done and cleaned up the area great. They made sure I was happy with the job and assured me that they would come back to fix anything I didn't like. I didn't have to pay right away which was convenient because I couldn't be there when they finished. I got the emailed invoice a few days later. The crew was professional and knowledgeable. Andy was friendly and helpful. I would definitely hire them again if I need any tree work done.

Needed a large maple tree removed which was very close to the house and the roots were going under the house. Andy drove past my house to assess the work and provided a quote. The following week he came by with 3 other people and went over everything that needed to be done. He left and the 3 others stayed and removed the tree, stump, and roots. They cleaned up all the branches and wood chips using a rake and blower, and filled in the hole. Overall the experience was smooth, on time, and on price.
