Blue Ribbon Tree & Landscape

Went well. Free estimate beforehand. Owner confirmed our appointment the day before. Workers arrived promptly at designated time. They worked with efficiency and amazing skill. They cleaned up entire area. Owner called afterward to follow up and ask if we were pleased with service. We would definitely use this company again. Very pleased with their professionalism and work.

They were quite proficient. They had a crew that cut down the trees and it seemed like they did it quite well. Their demeanor was good and their pricing was reasonable.

They were very nice and did a great job cleaning up. The problem was that the gentleman that was overseeing the job did not give good instructions to the workers, and obviously did not listen to what I said I wanted. Several times we had to stop the crew, call the guy and get things straightened out. The workers were super helpful and kind and did all that we asked, but we did not get even close to what we originally told the guy we wanted done. Not very happy with the job. I was very specific when talking with him, so I know that this was not the problem. he made the whole thing a nightmare and I could tell that the workers were frustrated too.

The was responsive, friendly and professional regarding the bid process. The work was scheduled only one week out from my phonecall to hire them. The crew arrived on time. The crew leader climbed the first tree and surgically removed the five trunks less than 12 feet from the neighbors house. On the second tree, a younger climber worked more slowly and the crew leader was not quiet about his impatience with his climber. Despite the younger climber's slower pace, they still finished by 3:30 pm, having thoroughly cleaned up and removed all their equipment.

Estimate appointment within a week after callling. And except for a delay in the estimate being sent by Blue Ribbon (due to lost email address) the work was peformed as scheduled with a 5 man crew including the estimator. Blue Ribbon arrived on time and completed all work required and cleaned up yard. Blue tree notified me via email 1 day pior to reconfirm appointment. Crew was friendly and answered all questiions before and after work completion. I will recommend Blue Ribbon for their professional tree work even though they did not have the the lowest cost estimate but had one of the highest Angie rating.

Blue Ribbon did an adequate job of tree trimming and bush removal. They had not brought stump grinding equipment with them, so had to return later to finish the job. The removal wasn't complete (which I discovered after paying the bill); one of the branch roots is still there. However, they did a good job with the tree trimming and cleaning up. Their attitude was polite and businesslike. On the whole, I'd say they did a decent job, but not an exceptional one.

They arrived on time, took the tree down without damaging any other plants (and it was a bit tricky to do so), cut up the trunk into fireplace-sized pieces and hauled off the branches (they even took an extra branch from a pine tree).

His pricing was very reasonable. He is a very hard worker. He was all by himself. He did a really good job.

The experience was very positive. Blue Ribbon scheduled quickly, sent Andy out for an appraisal during which I learned a lot about the trees on my property, and then came quickly to do the work. They cleaned up nicely. I was impressed that Andy didn't push for unnecessary work, informed me of work that might need to be done in a few years, and seemed to have great respect for the trees.

The job went beautifully! We are completely satisfied with what Andy said his crew would do and with the quality of the work they did. They were absolutely professional in their demeanor, in answering the questions we posed, and in explaining what they were doing and how the work was coming along. They repeatedly asked if we saw anything more we wanted done, and if we were satisfied with the work that was being done. When contracted work like this is being done, especially in an area that I have very little previous experience with, I often wonder just how dependable this company is and whether or not they will stand behind their work. Andy and the men in his crew left no such wonderment in the wake of this job. They took their work seriously, talked with us about, made adjustments in light of our concerns over potential damage to property from the trees, and generally left us with the impression that they sincerely wanted to do a good job and that we were satisfied with what was being done. Overall, we felt from the owner, to the climbers and the sawyers, to the chippers -- they did a very good job, and gave us not only our money's worth, but restored our peace of mind over the safety of our trees. Our highest recommendation to Blue Ribbon Tree Service.

It went well. The five man professional crew arrived slightly ahead of schedule and worked hard until about 5:00. All defined tasks were completed as well as several small items that were not listed. The team leader gave me the option of removing all of the large cedar trunk or having a portion of the tree to fireplace lengths and split. I decided to take the fireplace wood. Crew and Andy provided good suggestions on landscape maintenance.

Came out and gave a quote in the morning and performed the work in the afternoon as another job had been cancelled. The price was amazing. I asked them to keep it under two hours so they rushed and left a small mess. Overall, I was very pleased and will definitely use them again.

We have had Blue Ribbon do a couple tree jobs for us. They are quick, courteous, and reasonably priced. When we got home from work after the most recent job, we were amazed at the artistic way that our tree was pruned. They also cleaned up all the tree mess so you couldn't even tell they had been there. I whole heartily recommend them.

We selected Blue Ribbon because their rating had been Excellent for more than one year, Andy is an ISA certified arborist with more than 20 years experience, and the reviews were very positive and recent. Andy met with us, asked us what we wanted, and recommended what should be done. We agreed with all of his recommendations; afterall he's the profesisonal! They arrived at the exact time they said they would. Andy spoke with each person on his crew, made sure they understood what needed to be done and introduced each person to me (all were friendly and very knowlegeable). The difference from when we left in the morning to when we got home that evening was amazing! I could see light betwen the branches, the unhealthy branches were gone, they were shaped, and more light came through the windows. Their work was precise and thorough. They picked up every branch - nothing was left. Andy's pricing is very fair; I'm sure others are cheaper, but I know Blue Ribbon is the best. We plan to hire them again this spring to do the pruning that couldn't be done in the fall. Oh, in the above and beyond category - they lifted a heavy box out of the car for me!

Andy is excellent, very clear on instructions and which work was to be performed, workers were prompt, totally focused on the job and safety of all in the area. They were doing such an amazing job that the entire neighborhood came out to watch them take down the really high trees. Best thing was that except for all the trees gone, you wouldn't even know they were there. Cleanup was fantastic!!

Andy Andersen, the owner, came out not too long after I called and checked everything out that I needed to have done. First off, he is just a super nice person and was very friendly and easy to talk to. On the cherry tree that I wanted pruned, he suggested that it would be better to wait until November to do it because it was getting ready to bud out. He also gave me some suggestions on how to keep my other trees healthy. Andy and his crew came out a few days later and cut down my willow tree with no problems at all. They were all very nice and did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his crew to a friend. In fact, a week later I did recommend his company to friend of mine that needed one of their trees taken down. I will definitely use his company again.

From the quote to the execution of the job, the entire process was painless and pleasant. At the time of the consultation and quote, we received enough information about procedures and crew training/expertise that enabled us to easily make the decision to proceed. The crew that accomplished the job was professional and put on a masterful performance - it was very educational. They did everything we expected them to do in a safe and efficient manner, respecting the sensitivity of the protected wetland area. Would hire this company again in a heartbeat.

We were very pleased with Blue Ribbon Tree and Landscape. They were very responsive to my first call. Andy asked me specific questions before providing us with an estimate. I thought he was knowledgeable, professional, and careful from the conversation I had with him. The estimate was good and provided by email with a lot of detail. As soon as we let him know we wanted to proceed, we were scheduled right away. The crew showed up 10 min. before 8 and were finished around 12. They were very courteous and completely the job well. They cleaned up everything before they left and we would definitely hire them again.

From the moment Andy (the owner) stopped by to give me a bid on what needed done and his crew arrived at my house ? I could tell that Andy knew how to run a business. He was knowledgeable and friendly and didn't once pressure me about what plants should or shouldn't be trimmed or removed. He sent me a detailed list describing everything that we talked about with the cost for each individual plant. He told me I could pick and choose which trees and shrubs I wanted them to take care of. I called his office back a few days later and told his assistant I wanted them to take care of everything on the list. Within a couple of days I received a phone call saying that the crew could come out the next morning. Andy and the 4 man crew (one was his son & business partner) arrived on time and ready to work. The guys were all polite and hardworking. In a matter of a couple of hours everything was trimmed and the debris was cleaned up. I can't praise Blue Ribbon enough. Their prices were more than fair and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again. There is a reason this company has received such high reviews on Angie?s List. They care about their customers and they do the job right. My yard has never looked better.

Called Blue ribbon and owner Andy came to our house in August and bid two small jobs but stated that the trimming of an ornamental cherry tree would best be put off until dormant season (mid-December/early January). Called in December and he set time for work to be done @ 8:30 on 12/17/12. Crew of four workers showed up @ 8:15 w/Andy arriving a few minutes later. We all walked the yard and Andy and crew chief discussed exactly what need to be done. Crew went to work and had everything done with real expertise and quicker than we would have imagined possible. They took real pains not to damage any of our plants or yard and did a spectacular clean up job. It was a real treat to see real professionals at work.

Work crew was on time, very professional and efficient. They cleaned up the effected area very and I would use this firm again.

Andy came to the house for the estimate a day or so after I called the office. He was right on time. The day the work was done he and his team again arrived on time; The team of five young men led by Andy's son Ian got to work after Andy checked with us to make sure we were all in agreement as to the work to be done. The team members were all very pleasant, hard workers and the job was finished in the amazing time of about two hours. That included a final check to make sure the work was done to our satisfaction. It also included removal of all debris, raking up the leaves and blowing clean the walks and driveway. We have had 5 or 6 arborists and tree services work on our trees over the years. Most of them took two full days to do approximately the same job, partly because they did not have a team of guys who knew what they were doing and could work independently. We have also at times tried to contact other tree services who did not return our calls, or received estimates that included items we had said we did not want. It was a great pleasure to work with such a professional firm as Blue Ribbon. We certainly will contact them again when the trees need trimming and we would recommend them to anyone who needs professionals to work on their trees.

Let's face it, the reason Angie's list and sites like it are around is because it is not easy to find reliable professionals to perform work on your house. It is not easy to pick a company based on adds, job walks and bids. In this case I was very glad that I took the time to review companies and read about the experiences other folks had when they had trees cut down. That research led to Blue Ribbon and I am very happy to state that the process worked very well! From start to finish this company was very easy to work with, they were on time, friendly and very knowledgeable. During the quoting process Andy took the time to ask relevant questions to make sure that my property would be protected, presented the quote in a very timely manner and responded to the questions I had quickly. Once I decided to award the job to them they scheduled it quickly and were at my house promptly at 8am on the scheduled day. Blue Ribbon not only took down the tree but they also removed the wood (6+ cords of firewood!). This meant that there were multiple crews on site and a lot happening at any given time. Just watching these folks work it was obvious that they knew what they were doing - everyone knew where everyone else was, they watched out for each other and they functioned as a true team. I watched the process closely and at no time did I ever have a concern for their safety or the safety of my property (and they honestly appeared to be having a good time cutting down the tree and chopping up the wood!) They completed the job in a day (as they said they would) and did a wonderful job cleaning up. I would highly recommend Blue Ribbon and will be using them myself in the future.
