 + 0 moreWe hired AirCare USA to clean the ducts and cold air return. They use an air jet that blasts the gunk loose from the ducts while they vacuum it all up through a giant hose. We also wanted them to look at our furnace and clean it if necessary. Total cost for this was supposed to be about $200. When Jim and his assistant (his son) got to our house they looked over the ducts and furnace, then asked us why we weren't running our furnace's fan, since we were in the middle of a heat wave. I explained that when we did run the fan, my husband got sinus headaches, and that's why we needed the ducts cleaned. Hearing this, Jim recommended that we upgrade our filter, and have our ducts chemically sanitized. This would cost an additional hundred dollars. My husband andI discussed it and decided it was worth a shot, so they replaced our disposable paper filter with a cotton electrostatic permanent filter, and showed us how and when to wash the filter. Then the team proceeded to quickly and professionally clean all of our ducts. At one point they showed us how much gunk they had just gotten out of the cold air return. Jeez Louise. It was truly horrific to think we had been breathing whatever was growing in that crud. Overall we were very satisfied with their service, and we hope that the new filter will help with my husband's sinus headache problems. Don't know yet. They just came out today.

 + -1 moreThey did an extra thorough job. When I first called, they gave us a fairly good quote -- they said it was the fair price. But by the time we had added in the extras, the price was higher. The techs were quick and cleaned up after themselves. They came right on time and got right to work.

 + -1 moreJim and his assistant, Dakota, came in and did their usual excellent job. They are very careful not to bring anything into the house and with the expertise that Jim has they are finished within an hour or less. We do have a small house so a larger dwelling may take longer but they are quick and efficient and very through. I also like the fact that Jim always advises me on things I need to be doing to make our house stay cleaner and healthier. Jim, and his son, make you feel at ease knowing that they have your best interest at heart. An excellent business that has integrity, and honesty as their Hallmark.

However I have a new furnace and now the blower runs 24/7 I am wondering if the blower they hooked up has damaged the sensors on the furnace. I know something was done to the furnace as I could hear a driver type tool being used to re instal pannels however I was upstairs and could not see the work being performed. I will be contacting AirCare USA Inc on Monday for resolution.

 + -1 moreThe AirCare team (owner Jim, and son Alex) did a great job. I scheduled them about a week in advance based upon favorable comments by a neighbor. Jim called 2 days prior to the appointment to confirm. When they got here (right on time) Jim explained all of my options very thoroughly, with no hard sell, while Alex readied all the vents for cleaning. I don't believe that our ducts had ever been cleaned before (house was built in 1991), so they were pretty filthy. We have a dog and 2 cats (3 cats until this past January) so there had been a lot of hair and dander floating around. For this reason I also choose to have Jim install the UV air purifying system ($299) besides the new AirCare filter. The furnace runs noticeably more quietly (in a quick test) since his servicing of it. The total time for all the work that they did was about 2 hours, 15 minutes. Jim showed me the "vacuum bag" where the duct dirt was collected and there was amazing amount there after the cleaning. While the true test of the work they did won't happen until the heating season (in a few months), at this time we're very happy with the work they did and would definitely recommend them to others.
Description of Work: Clean and sanitize 13 heating vents/ducts and 3 cold air intake vents/ducts. Clean and service furnace. Remove old Honeywell filter system and install new, 94% efficiency AirCare electrostatic "Electra Silver" filter (lifetime rated). Install UV Max air purifying system.

 + -1 moreI first met the company at the Seattle Home Show earlier this year, where they advertised that they do air duct cleaning with "no hidden charges". I was skeptical about the slogan, but after dealing with other air duct cleaning companies, I'm now appreciating what Jim and his company is doing. I emailed Jim for a quote from their website, and he got back to me in about a day or so. We agreed on a schedule over email, which was awesome because I've not dealt with many service companies who are prompt with their electronic correspondences. I got a courtesy call (on a Sunday even!) a few days before the job. Jim and Tony showed up right on time at the start of the time window they gave, and when straight to work. They were fast, efficient, polite, explained everything well. Jim is pretty laid back, and doesn't try to pressure you into anything you don't want. Originally I just got them out to clean the air ducts, but Jim recommended taking care of the furnace after seeing how much dust was built up in it. The price he quoted was exactly what was listed on the website, nothing less, nothing more. He also suggesting duct sanitization, but didn't pressure when I declined. In the end, it was a very straightforward transaction, with everything itemized on the bill.
Description of Work: Whole house air duct cleaning: 13 vents, 1 cold air intake, 7 ducts. Using truck-mounted vacuum system and compress air driven agitator. Furnace cleaning and servicing: cleaning out blower unit, inspect electrical and motor, inspect heat exchange and flue. Installed AirCare Electra Silver 9400 electrostatic filter.

 + 0 moreI emailed Jim to get a quote and it took him a few days to reply. When he did, he quoted the information I requested regarding how much it would cost to clean the vents. I, however, didn't ask about cleaning the furnance (erroneously assuming he would inform me of any costs I forgot to ask about) and I only learned of the extra $120 for the furnance when he arrived. So while he did specifically answer my question, I felt like he could have given me a heads up on the other costs (although they were clearly displayed on his website which I discovered after the fact). Having said that, he came for the appt and inspected all of the vents and furnace. Then he clearly walked me through the options I had and the costs involved and even have me an extra 15 minutes while he set up to decide what services I did and didn't want. He wasn't overly pushy or tried to scare me into anything I didn't want. I agreed to the duct cleaning and furnance cleaning, agreed to buy an electrostatic filter, and declined the disinfectant service. He and his helper went right to work, answered all of my questions when I probed what they were doing, and were very professional. They were able to knock out the job faster than he originally quoted, and the vents were noticably cleaner. Overall I was happy.

 + -1 moreMet these guys at the Seattle Home Show and during the discussion with the owner Jim realized that it was time to get our vents cleaned, since it was at least 10 years since that last cleaning. I like that we didn't have to buy the service at the Home Show. Rather, Jim set up an appointment and called prior to coming out. We had to reschedule and he easily accommodated our change of plans for the next day. His crew was timely, professional, courteous and got the job done within two hours. The crew explained what was going on, explained the charges, offered a few extra services (like cleaning the dryer vent, too, which is a great idea) and went about their business. They also cleaned up after themselves and were very friendly while answering my questions. The one, and only one, suggestion I'd have is for the crew to wear disposable shoe covers while in the house. I forgot to give them some (we keep them handy because we have light carpets), but most home service vendors do this as a courtesy. Other than that, a flawless transaction with a professional company.

 + 0 moreIt went exactly as I expected it to go. I made an apointment to have them come and service my heat pump and revacume the heat ducts. next fall. I have been doing sheetrock work so a lot of dust inside my home. This company states a price for their work and stay with the stated amount. This company has been in business in this area for a long time.
Description of Work: I received a call 2/26/2013 to confirm my apointment at 0800 on the 27th. My team arrived just after o8oo. They introduced them selves Dave was the team leader. We walked thru the house to locate all of my vents. I have a total of 5 as I have a very small housse. I showed them the air return vent also. I had my air ducts cleaned by a different company in Sept. and I was still having large amounts of debrie comming from my vents. The vents were not touched only the airhandler or the circle fan under the furnance. I will not ever have them back. It also cost me over 200.00. Dave checked the air handler and it was clean. He explained it all to me as I did not understand what an airhandler was. He pulled out the air filter in the furance. He and his partner set up all of my air vents removed all the grate and blocked the vent.. They then brought in the huge vacume hose connected to the vacume in their truck. The vents were vacumed one by one and the grates were replaced and everything was replaced with no mess and no fuss. I am delighted to report there is no longer any thing except warm air coming froom my aair vents. I had large particles of black on the filter in the furance when they finished. I removed the filter and inserted a new one. I home was built in 1962 and had an oil furance. I replaced that wit an electric heat pump. There was no added on charges except a choise to have the vents sanitized for $5.00 per vent. There was no other over selling add ons not needed. Dave and his partner cleared their equipment went back in to ther clean and organized ther truck. I received an invoice and paid my bill and they were on their way to the next apointment in about 2 hours.
