THE MAYTAG STORE

Both the sales people (Tina and Diana) were helpful. Both told us the store would deliver and take away the old appliance for $70, but they had a service that would deliver, remove the old appliance and install the new one for $150. I figured it was worth $80 to not have to wrestle the old drop in stove out and install the new slide in range. The new Maytag range arrived on time. The installers removed the old drop in range, then advised me, the store had quoted the wrong price. The correct price was $390. The installers called their boss who refused to drop the price. I called the Maytag store, they denied quoting $150 to install. I spoke with Diana who refused to even contact the install service to work a better deal for me. The Maytag range was defective. They ordered a new one for us, 7 days delay. The next Maytag range was defective also. Both ranges have such flimsy sheet metal on the top, that during installation, the porcelain chips out.

They have convenient locations and hours of operation. They were professional and all, but it took several calls for me to get them to come back to pick up the old dishwasher that they didn t pick up at the beginning because it was still plugged in.

Buying the washer and dryer went very well. Delivery and installation - not so much. The delivery truck showed up almost an hour before our scheduled time slot. If I lived at the house that might not have been a problem, but I still lived on the other side of town. The the dryer was damaged in some way and they had to arrange for another one to be sent out the next week. The delivery men were not nearly as professional as the sales people in the store. They did not completely install the machines. (They did not level them or reverse the door swing for me. They did attach water hoses and a dryer vent.) Overall, except for the delivery problems, the Maytag experience went well.

I chose to purchase my Maytag appliances from the Maytag store because their prices were the same as Lowes and they offered the same rebates PLUS additional incentives. The sales staff was also very knowledgeable about the product compared to Lowes, where the staff seemed to push GE Profile appliances only. It was also very easy to shop. The store provides a play area with videos for children. I was able to see the kids from throughout the store and they were entertained while I took my time making a decision. Upon delivery I noticed a chip in the porcelain range top. This was easily resolved as the store offered to replace the range, replace the part, or give me some money back. The delivery crew did not install the dishwasher or microwave. When my contractor installed the microwave, they scratched the control panel on the range. This was also easily resolved by Maytag, but Austin, my salesperson, did not follow up as promised.

THE DISHWASHER DID NOT FIT IN THE SPACE I HAVE AND THE ONE REMOVED CAME OUT OF THE SAME SPACE. THE SERVICE AND QUALITY ARE GOOD, BUT I FEEL THAT I DID NOT GET ALL THE INFORMATION THAT I NEEDED TO MAKE THIS A GOOD FIT.
